   As much as I would like to recommend this restaurant for the service, music. ambiance and overall attentiveness of everyone that we encountered, the fact is that my wife and I both got very sick after we got home from the steak that we ordered there. I believe it was the steak because we both ordered the same one.

   First time at Bob's & was looking forward to a great meal prior to a show at ACL Moody Theatre. Food & wine was excellent. Alyna took care of us very well. The downside to our evening was the noise level we had to endure for the hour or so we were seated. Even Alyna had to lean over and speak loudly in order for us to hear her. There was a table of 6 individuals who had clearly finished their meal well BEFORE we arrived (because of the go boxes sitting on the floor). Several people were still drinking, others were talking extremely loud especially one young woman. The young men were constantly up & down, in & out of the room, a couple of the men were acting like gangsters with their words and hand actions. One young woman was crying and having to be consoled, it was disruptive & not appropriate for 'fine' dining. Management should have stepped in & given a warning, but did nothing. We don't eat out very often, but after spending $400 on dinner for 2, this was very disappointing. Restaurants don't have the choice to pick their clientele, but the behavior we observed was clearly ignored by the management to the detriment of everyone else around them. Loss of additional revenue because we wanted out as quickly as possible. Sorry guys, this will be the only visit to your establishment. Too many other white table cloth establishments in DT ATX with better atmosphere, similar cost & greater enjoyment. We regret our choice..... :( BTW, this group was still hanging on when we left 80 minutes later. RUDE!

   Lovely Mother's Day lunch. Donald was our server and he was outstanding - friendly, professional and very helpful. Our food was coursed out perfectly and we felt very taken care of. Plus, it was nice and quiet so we could actually talk.

    The atmosphere was perfect for a college graduation and service was good. The food was ok. 3 of the people of our party of 6 ordered steak and it was COLD and tough. I ordered a salad without bacon and it had bacon it. We did not say a word because this was our son's graduation dinner and did not to make it an awkward occasion. Disappointed.

    Long time Bobs fan. Last night was not their best. Food was not hot. I did talk to the manager and he was very helpful. The bread pudding was awesome and free. I will be back.

    In my booking I requested outdoor seating and that I was my friends birthday. Neither of which were addressed. I got to the restaurant and they told me outdoor seating is first come first serve , which is fine. But they didn’t call and tell me that prior to the reservation. So we got the last table outside off by itself . Our waitress dropped F bombs to us the entire time and said other super vulgar things. Apparently it was her last night so she didn’t care. Did I mention it was my friends birthday. She didn’t put our app in. So our food came out and the kitchen brought our app with our food. No dessert not even an offer of dessert . Literally awfully experience for such a high end restaurant. I also wrote a letter to the company directly and have yet to hear back from them. So they don’t read the reservation book or emails .

    Business dinner with six people. Table was ready as reserved. Great setting and ambiance. Rooftop bar was enjoyable for drinks before dinner. The service was slow and the waiter kept apologizing. He noted that they had served over 400 people that day , it was 8:00. Our reservation was for 7:30. Dinner lasted until 10:30. The steak was good and cooked as ordered. One of our party ordered salmon which was undercooked and unbeatable. The waiter took this off of our ticket. Another dinner ordered the special, blackened stuffed halibut. The fish was thin , overcooked and over spiced. The room was overly crowded. Too many tables. They were obviously trying to maximize business at the expense of good service and food quality. The noise level was so bad we we’re having to shout to be head. The other tables were doing to same which made for a poor environment. For the price and dining expectations Bobs should have booked half of the people they seated that night. There are many great places to dine in Austin so I will try something different next trip.

    The steaks were fine, the carrots too sweet, the fried potatoes dry and flavorless. Why on earth do they play big band music from the 50’s? The vibe in here is suitable for octogenarians but there are none in the restaurant. Austin is a relatively young crowd. I’m guessing not a soul in the restaurant, including the staff, wants to listen to the music they play in the restaurant.

    Good was great as always. Server was horrible. Spent over $500 on wine and had to ask him three times to pour it. We literally sat with no wine until after appetizers and salads. Ridiculous and grumpy.

    I was a table for 1. Ambiance...I was put in a back room with about 4 booths of 4 in the very back corner. there was a family of 9 with two young kids of which the boy was in and out of his chair, rolling around on the floor and loud. Service should have asked his parents to seat and control him. The A/C was cold in that corner which chilled my food more rapidly than i wanted. Food...the wedge salad, home fries with gravy and carrot were good, I order a SRF 120z black grade filet, as I am an online customer of SRF. The steak was pried at $129 and I wanted to try it. It chewed well but was tough to cut and the filet had a side piece on it that should have been trimmed off and was inedible, for that price. dissappointing. I took bread pudding home. the chucks of bread in the desert were too large and some never soaked up the cream/egg pudding all the way through. The service was very good and attentive. In all, I would try Bob's again but be more demanding on my seating and be more discerning on what I ordered.

    This was our second time eating at Bob's. The first time we loved it. The food was wonderful and the service was great. This time, our waiter was uninformed about the food and couldn't answer simple questions about how it was prepared. Also, he didn't check on us much. We had to get our own knives for our entrees as our original knives were removed with our salad and never replaced. My son's steak was undercooked and no one bothered to check in with us. My wife ordered grilled onions for steak and potato, and they didn't bring it out. When we asked about they took awhile and brought out a tiny portion so we asked for more. By the time the second tiny order of grilled onions arrived my wife had finished and the waiter laughed as he put them on the table. She became upset and told the waiter she was disappointed and that he had not been attentive and was offended that he laughed about the onions. She told him that we were paying for this and the experience should have been better. He didn't even know it was our son's 21st birthday, even though it was in the reservation notes. In the end, we didn't want to make the night any more negative for our son so we asked for the check. No manager apology or adjustments to the bill. $300 later we left completely unhappy.

    One of the worst dining experiences I can remember, which was unexpected because I’m a regular at Bob’s in Dallas. How can a supposedly high end restaurant not have remoulade sauce for their shrimp cocktail (or the ingredients to make it), serve runny crab cakes, have a server talk guests into a NY strip only to later find reveal they’re out of the item, and serve a strip in place of a filet and insist that it’s a filet??     Bobs is always a favorite and the food was delicious. The thing that was different on this trip was the service. On two occasions I felt like our server was not very happy with our table because something was not right and we brought it up. He was fully willing to fix it, but it just felt like it was our fault when it was not. The other issue was how loud other tables were being and how incredibly dark the room was. Same Bobs excellence, but a bit of an off night.

    Our server Daniel was fantastic, but that was the highlight of the night. Our crab appetizer was great but our main meal was overcooked and undercooked. We order two filets, the centers were cook to our liking, it was just the hard leather exterior that was the issue. Also both cuts were not the best either. I have dined here before and had a great experience, last night was terrible. There are some many other choices, that I don't think we will be back to the Austin location.

    Great service by Lisa, food felt pre ready. My lobster bisque wasn’t hot, potatoes felt pre made as well as the carrots. Steak was good. Just for the price expect more made from scratch.

    My server was Riley and he saved our day. I accidentally left my wallet at home and all I had was an emergency debit card in my car that only had $200 on it. I had to embarrassingly explain my situation upon getting there and he guided us to split a huge porterhouse steak, sides and a few drinks keeping it under our limit, providing amazing service and of course, the food was incredible!
