Boku Noodle Bar hopes to become the go-to spot for anyone looking for value and good food and drink in the East End. Izakaya small plates, as well as ramen, will be available from noon to close, 7 days a week.

We reserve the right to give away unused tables if your party has not arrived within 15mins of the reservation time. Just give us a call, let us know!

I'd try eating here again if it wasn't the summerlicious menu. Also, they need more staff on the line to execute those kinds of menus. Not 3 line cooks...as my first time here with my table of 6, our main course took what felt like half an hour.

We went there for Summerlicious event. We had Takoyaki (i like it!) and gyoza, Miso Ramen & Tan Tan ramen for main dish (not the real Japanese ramen, but taste okay), and some dessert that I don’t remember. The reason I don’t remember the dessert name because it took forever to be served, and when we asked for it they said we finished our noodle late than the others so we have to wait more?!? That make no sense at all. I saw next table who came after us and still had their noodle bowl, but they already got their dessert. Service was poor, have to wait a long time for the next dish to be served. Good place in distilery district.

Truly poor food. We were there during a citywide restaurant promotion event, which meant a prix fixe three course and no a la carte options. My ersatz Japanese salad was sloppily overdressed, but not worth the effort to return and replace. The garnish-free pork ramen broth was close to tasteless, with a decent appearance but thin savor and no mouthfeel. Dessert was paltry and rote. The meal was a cruel parody of genuine cooking, even by Distillery mass-feeding standards.

The first two courses were amazing, the taste and textures of the food superb. We waited close to 40 minutes for desert, bread pudding, and when it finally arrived it was classic Swiss Chalet, a real disappointment after the first two dished. The Kitchen needs to be staffed to meet the demand from the clients. The kitchen was the bottleneck in this operation. Our waitress was great.

Everything was awesome! I would go there again and again. I had the vegan Ramen and was disappointed that it was made with rice noodles instead of vegan ramen noodles. That would definitely not stop me from going back!

My husband and I recently moved to the area and wanted to try Boku. I made a reservation ahead of time knowing that the restaurants in the area are usually busy. When we arrived there were only 3 other tables with diners in the restaurant which we were happy about given the crowds walking around. Despite the fairly empty restaurant, our server seemed very overwhelmed serving everyone. We were told that 4 dishes were unavailable to order, 3 of which were our top choices to try. The menu is fairly small so this was unfortunate. My husband wanted to add an egg to his bowl of ramen but they were also out of eggs. Although neither my husband and I are vegetarians, all of the vegetarian dishes we’re unavailable to order, including their one vegan dish. I understand it was a long weekend but perhaps better preparation is needed in the future. The food was flavourful but service was lacking. I would order take-out in the future but would be hesitate to dine-in.

Very happy with service and my meal. A couple of people in our party would have preferred the chicken dishes but they ran out of chicken earlier in the week as they had been busier than planned. Disappointed in this only.

I haven’t felt compelled to write a review for a while up until now.
Everything about this overly under rated restaurant was excellent.
We sat at the bar and our server Shun was attentive and so knowledgeable about Japanese whiskey.
My husband enjoyed the whiskey as much as the lesson on how this whiskey is served in Japan.
The mushroom salad was so fresh with the perfect dressing adding to the rich mushroom fragrance.
The gyoza was delicious, light and crispy with a savoury dipping sauce.
The short rib udon was perfection, rich and tender.
The mushroom ramen was the best vegetarian ramen that I’ve tasted.
Boku is a hidden gem!

The atmosphere and service here in great, and they have a lot of interesting beers available. The gyozas are delicious, though small. The ramen itself was tasty but the noodles were very thick and stiff and seemed somewhat undercooked compared to previous visits to Boku and visits to many other ramen places. The broth was delicious but not very hot. This place is on the expensive side for noodles and we would visit more often if they paid a bit more attention to these details.

Lovely evening out with friends. Two couples, enjoyed a quiet Sunday dinner with tasty selection of udon bowls and appetizers. Not many vegetarian options but the ones available were excellent. Attentive service and would return.

Nice atmosphere and good location as we were going to Soulpepper. Only service misstep was they did not refill our wine when our wine glasses were empty. Food was good (Miso Ramen and Tan Tan Men Ramen) and great value for the price. Nice to have hot noodles on a cold night. They were missing an appetizer that was normally on the menu but the appetizers that we ordered (Gyoza and Takoyaki) were tasty. Limited wine list. We would go back again.

I didn’t love our server. He was pretty unhelpful. Not bc he was rude or anything, just not that great. Really didn’t sell me on any of the food and the food was nothing to write home about. I went for the promise of mochi not realizing it was not always on the menu so I didn’t even get what I was waiting for. Not their fault I suppose. Music and vibe was good.

We went on a special night when they were offering $6 wine and Sake. We were pleasantly surprised. It was great food at a reasonable price. It did not have the Distillery or tourist tax (as we call the prices in most Distillery restaurants) attached to this meal.

We started by sharing the Chicken Karaage and Gyoza for appetizers. Both were plentiful and quite tasty. For main course, my partner had the Mushroom Rsmen. It was delicious with plenty of mushrooms. The noodles were thin and tasty. I had the Miso Egplant Danbury. The Egplant was delicious. It came with rice in miso which was excellent. Over all it was a great experience.

One drawback, I understand the difficulty in having an accessible entrance in front but there should at least be a sign pointing to the accessible entrance.

I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday about a month in advanced. We arrived early on a Friday night and were seated immediately, which was nice. I was expecting it to be busy, but there were maybe two other tables seated at the time. Our server was fantastic, the atmosphere was really beautiful, they played great music, and the food and cocktails were delicious. I had been a bit apprehensive, as at the time I made the booking it seemed the reviews were split down the middle. One thing that stood out to me though, was that there was a response to every single review - good or bad - and it showed they care about delivering great food and service.

There were some noisy kids seated behind us for maybe our first half hour, and the drinks were just a bit pricier than I'd have liked, but overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to come back!

Nice décor. Great service. Food was delicious. It was a Thursday night, so the restaurant was not too busy. I imagine the noise level might be louder if it was busier.

An alternative to other restaurants located in distillery.
Good service and vibes.
Enjoyed during a night to light show!

Do not order the tea unless green tea. Its flavoured and not authentic regional Japanese tea.

Amazing evening! Fantastic service from our server he was on point and did everything perfectly!
The food was amazing! Chicken karage was delicious, perfectly balanced crispness yet not overdone. Edamame was very flavorful too!
We shared the Miso Ramen & the Braised Beef Short Rib Udon Stir fry, and our server had the chef split it in half so we each got our own bowl of each! Honestly both dishes were superb, the beef short rib in particular very tender and succulent.
Ambiance is very nice also, being set in the Distillery District, it’s got a more rustic & cozy vibe to it, yet still felt nice & romantic for our Valentines Day dinner.
Didn’t seem overly loud, as the layout & flow of the restaurant was spread out.
Overall a great evening & fantastic dinner & service!
I would highly recommend Boku! :)

We had a really nice night! The food was tasty, we were there during Winterlicious. We also had amazing service. There was one guy seating and serving with a big smile on his face! I would definitely go again.

Seated promptly. We sat at the bar but it was great ambiance regardless. Appetizer came very quickly but one was not very warm (and it was sliced breaded chicken). Large length of time between apps and main course. Server did not check on us until the meal was almost done and there was no offer to order us additional beverages even though we were sitting right at the bar. We also witnessed 2 servers take a shot at the bar after having them poured by the bartender.

Super friendly host and attentive wait staff - was there during Winterlicious so the value was great with the prix fix menu. Portions are worth the price and the food was delicious! Highly recommend it.

Anton was extremely polite and went above and beyond his job as a host. We asked about a drink and he had offered a small glass to try. It was a small gesture but not very often do we get offered to try things before we order it at restaurants. Our server was absolutely marvellous, recommending great dishes from the winterlicious menu. 10/10 first experience at Boku!

Went to Boku for date night with my boyfriend, we were seating at the bar which I usually don't like but the comfortable seats and intimate atmosphere made it a great spot. The manager asked if we were celebrating and even though we weren't he gave shots on the house! Friendly staff, delicious food and great enviroment!
