Fabulous meal, good service, definitely returning!
Heading to Chan Centre for a concert so decided to have dinner near there. Booked Bombay Masala through Open Table. I phoned on the way there as we were running late. She was friendly and assured me it was no trouble. When we arrived there was a little basket of papadum waiting on the table….no charge. Maybe because we were the first table?
The menu was extensive and had dishes I had never seen before on an Indian restaurant menu, including a curry bowl with very fresh ingredients…delicious! The server was extremely new(2 days),nervous, but helpful. We all start new at some time!
Great ambience with soft lighting, rotating coloured lights and south Asian ballads loud enough to hear but soft enough not to intrude.
The only suggestion is the kitchen should advise the front staff when dishes will be missing an obvious ingredient…ie. avocado in the curry bowl.
We live in Coquitlam but will make an excuse to go back again.
What am I supposed to write in the review if I didn't get the food only? We had booked a table of 4 and we had ordered 4 dishes for each one of us, but after waiting for more than an hour, the food did not arrive. We asked the waiter for the status of the dishes, and he very rudely told us to not ask that question. What are we supposed to ask the waiter then when your food hasn't arrived for more than an hour? Very poor service, arrogant staff, poor lighting, and ambiance. Very bad experience and would have given 0 stars if that was an option. Wouldn't recommend it at all
The food was great! Definitely worth a try!
We ordered several dishes and ended up taking some home. The food was nicely spiced, neither mild nor too hot. The quality of the food was good. We particularly enjoyed the fish pakoras and the lamb seehk kabab. Our server, Taranjeet (Taran) was welcoming, attentive, and friendly. We look forward to going back to what is certain to become a neighbourhood favourite.
