    Food was decent - we were a group of 4 and got 2 onion soups, lobster bisque, and the split pea soup. Lobster bisque had very little lobster. The other soups were just fine, not super rich. For entrees we got the chicken with Brie, beef bourguignon, beef filet, and scallops. The chicken and beef filet were delicious, the bourguignon was ok and the scallops bland. All the food needed a lot more salt. We had cocktails and would've had more but were never asked. Glasses cleared looooong after we'd finished and no offer of another or anything else. I asked for a wine list and got a glass. Again, would've had another but no one came by and no one asked, our table sat with empty dirty dishes for 20 minutes or more each time. We had to beg for water more than once. We pointed out we had a birthday at our table and while we saw it was being celebrated repeatedly at other tables, not at ours. Haven't had this level of indifferent service in a long time. We won't be back.

    From start to finish, one of the most fantastic dining experiences I’ve had. My sister and I dined here for our birthdays while in Montreal, and we were so glad we decided on the tasting menu. We appreciated the variety you can choose from with each course, and every morsel left our tastebuds wanting more. The service was excellent as well. A huge shout out to our waiter, Simon, who made our time there so fabulous. He was attentive, kind, and brought us beautiful sparkler birthday desserts plates near the end of our meal. Our dinner lasted about 3 1/2 hours so definitely not a place to rush through your meal. Take your time, unplug from the world, and be transported to an extraordinary culinary community experience. Merci beaucoup, Bonaparte!!!

    A very unique location, outstanding le Old Fashion. All meals basically had the same tiny portion sides. Food was good but some was overcooked and all plates had been under a warmer light for way too long. George was very nice but the restaurant was very busy and we ran of of time to have deserts.

    Ben here many times before and I’m never disappointed. The food is always excellent and portions are not large but big enough to satisfy you spand leave room for one of their scrumptious deserts. I had the confit de canard and it was mouth watering. Service was excellent and. The wait staff paid attention to our every need. Cannot wait to go back there again!

    Drinks and food were wonderful. I had the Euphorie cocktail and my husband had an old fashioned. Both were excellent. We had the mushroom ravioli and foie grois with “creme brûlée”. Both were delicious. Entrees were beef bourginon, duck breast with wild berries, scallops and lobster, and chicken breast with Brie. All were fantastic and the presentation was excellent. We finished with chocolate mousse, creme brûlée, napoleon, and Chambord soufflé. The soufflé and mousse were the best. Service was superb, from wine recommendations to attentiveness. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

    Bonaparte is a gem! The tasting menu with paired wines was a delight and offers everyone at the table an amazing 6 course meal customized to their tastes! Highly recommend! This was my second visit and will not be the last- it’s a must on any trips to Montreal, for special occasions, or when you just want to treat yourself! Excellent service!

    It was fabulous! The servers were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious!! We had pea soup and ravioli for starters. (The soup was delicious but the raviolis were incredible). Then we had bourguignon and lamb shanks for the main. Each was divine!! But the amazing kicker was the lemon pie. Wow. The lemon was intense and tart and the meringue was sweet and gentle making the combo incredible. The setting was lovely making the entire evening a treat.

    My friend and I celebrated my birthday and totally enjoyed our dinner. From the moment we stepped inside we were treated special and welcomed. The meal was superb. My birthday treat was appreciated and added to the occasion. Desk called for a taxi and completed our special evening.

    A road trip to Montreal from Massachusetts included a return visit to Bonaparte, in Old Montreal, after 10 years. It continues to be one of our favorite Montreal restaurants - the charming old world feel of the restaurant and delicious food cooked to perfection is a culinary experience to be remembered.

    We would rank our dinner and meal as a top three lifetime dining experience. We did the sampling menu with the wine tastings and it was a wonderful 6 course, 3 hour culinary experience with top quality food and very attentive service. We highly recommend Bonaparte for a true dining adventure in the heart of Old Montreal (located beside the historic Centaur Theatre). Thank you for a truly memorable evening!

    100% waste of my time and money - I dined here on my birthday. Extremely disappointed- after telling them I was severely allergic to all forms of fennel - seeds. pollen, vegetable itself, ai was served fennel seeds on my bread and had severe swelling allergic reaction immediately and was unable to taste or enjoy my meal after.taking my steroid and allergy medication at the table. Waitstaff and management appeared unfazed after I informed them of the incident.

    Nous avons pris le menu dégustation avec l’accord mets et vins) et le service était peu incarné (le serveur donnait des informations très générales et de façon désintéressée). L’ambiance était bruyante mais les lieux sont accueillants. La nourriture était chaude et bien préparée. Les saveurs annoncées au menu n’étaient pas présentes (par exemple: une bisque de homard avec effluve de gingembre sans qu’on goûte le gingembre). J’avais aussi mentionné lors de la réservation en ligne que c’était pour un anniversaire et l’information ne s’est pas rendue. Je n’y retournerai pas car le rapport qualité prix n’y est pas vraiment.
