the Napoleonic era give the restaurant the intimate character
that guests treasure. An exquisite cuisine, prepared with French savoir-faire
and showcasing the finest fresh regional products.
Love the cousin and drinks. Great service and fine deserts. also with beautiful view outside. ~Definitely worth to come again!
We have been coming to the Bonaparte for years and it never fails to be a delightful experience. There are many great restaurants in Montreal, and plenty of trendy places with amazing food. The Bonaparte, however, provides an all-around wonderful experience, from excellent food this is a place where the waitstaff are professional, the maitre'd is attentive, and the customer is appreciated. (And when you go, don't miss the Lobster Bisque and the Mushroom Ravioli - they're wonderful.)
Outstanding food and service. We both had the tasting menu and each dish was fantastic. Wine list is very complete. Would reccomend to anyone.
wonderful food and delightful service. highly recommend
This is a great French restaurant. The dining rooms were beautiful. The noise level was higher than expected, but I preferred it. The dessert soufflés was my favorite dish. I had the Cavado soufflé. The gin cocktails we tried were both excellent. The waiter picked an excellent French wine for us. There wine menu was large in the French wines and even had a page of other reds. The bread is amazing! Every one was happy with all things ordered
A gem in Montreal’s old port!
Every visit is a new wonderful experience !!
I make a point to have dinner here when I visit Montréal. The food and waiter were outstanding. The maître d’hôtel is very friendly and charming. I will certainly return for another fine meal.
Outstanding food and impeccable service.
Nous avons mangé dans ce restaurant pour un anniversaire. Nous avons passé une agreable soirée. Le service etait impeccable. C est une belle découverte. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !!
Service was impeccable, our waiter was close to perfection since perfection does not exist 99.9%
Food was very very good, wine very good, ambiance nice.
On the low side, the chairs are hard on the buttocks!
We will be back.
Terrific a la carte menu as well as table d'hote. Warm and friendly service. Lovely sauted foie grass. A perfect welcome-to-Montreal dinner.
Delicious food, well prepared and served. Never felt rushed, but well attended to. Comfortable and elegant surroundings. The catch of the day was perfect.
Bonaparte was spectacular to say the least. I attended with a party of 6 in honor of my bother's birthday and we were very well taken care of by Katherine. We selected the tasting menu to make food selection much easier and all of the options were delicious. Each plate was something new and exciting. Lastly, I cannot speak enough on Katherine and the attention she gave us. Katherine was lively, very friendly, and thoroughly approachable. It felt as if it was a friend serving me rather than someone I had just met. Any chance I get - I will return for the delicious food and amazing serivice
I've been coming to this restaurant for many years and have found the food and service at Bonaparte's consistently good. When a friend comes to town or a family member has a birthday, one of the first places I think of is this restaurant.
My wife and I have had many meals at Bonaparte over the past 18 years. The food is exquisite, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is delightful. This meal reconfirmed how much we enjoy coming to Montreal and dining at Bonaparte.
Outstanding restaurant! We go every time we are in Montreal. Never disappointed
The lamb shank was not good, my fiancée couldn’t even eat it. The steak I had was okay but nothing really note worthy. The service was good though and the staff were kind. Overall, I did not feel like we got what we paid for in terms of value and quality of food.
Good service. Great food . Nice interior decor. Good ambiance.
Excellent! Food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Enough creativity for a new take on classic French cuisine, with great execution. Friendly staff, and impeccable service.
The food and the service were simply amazing! Would recommend for date night!
Took some time to be welcomed at the table. Although the waitress did apologize for the wait, otherwise 5 stars.
The food and the atmosphere. The sommelier, a lady whose name we did not catch was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This restaurant is ALWAYS outstanding. I would recommend highly.
This classic French menu did not disappoint. The food was excellent from start to finish. Particularly notable was the great 1/2 litre of Cahor Malbec, which was amazing. The wait staff were very attentive and pleasant. My one regret was that we made the reservation months in advance when we booked the room in the hotel, but we obviously did not qualify for the best tables at the window?! I was not aware that these tables were the best until we actually walked into the restaurant. I would have thought that those actually staying in the hotel and those making a reservation far in advance, would be given some special consideration with seating.
The service was incredible and food amazing.I would recomend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.
Absolutely recommend the Bonaparte.
The service and food have always been excellent. Cannot wait to return!
We had an awesome evening at Bonaparte on Valentine’s day. Food and service were extraordinary, thank you so much! Everything was so classy.
Just Perfect, amazing experience. Food was pure tallent, and the waiters were lively and fun.
The Best meal and service!!! Very clean and the best tank by the windows 👍🏿
Our Favourite Old Montreal Restaurant. My wife and I visited Bonaparte again for this year’s Valentine’s Day tasting menu. This romantic French restaurant is our favourite for many reasons. The old town setting with beautiful ambiance, a Napoleon flair and a warm fireplace. The amazing staff and service from everyone who were all delightful as they anticipated our every need. The food was cooked to perfection again and all delicious. My wife and I had the lobster bisque, smoked salmon, wild game terrine, seafood in puffed pastry, goat cheese in phyllo pastry, arctic char, lamb shank & chop, and selection of sweet desserts. They also have a wonderful wine list. We had the French Vin d’Alsace Riesling, my wife’s favourite. Another wonderful romantic evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day along with a red rose for my wife. We will be back again and again for sure. Thank you Bonaparte.
Excellent french fare!
The meal was extraordinarily good, as was the service! We will go there again for sure when back in Montreal!
This was an amazing restaurant. The ambiance, staff, food, presentation and wine knowledge was all excellent. We had the escargot appetizer and Lobster dinner. Overall an amazing experience. I highly recommend this place.
I like this restaurant, it's nice, the food is very good. This time I didn't like the french fries and half bottle of vine was served in carafe, so no way to know if the vine we ordered was realy served. The vine was not good and they charged us for more expensive vine
I am always satisfied with this restaurant. It is one of the best restaurants in Montreal. The tasting menu is fabulous and really good value for money.
Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Definitely will return
Very good food and service. However one or two stumble when explaining the dishes but nothing major. Would defenetly go again
I asked for a special table to celebrate my friend's birthday - table at the window was perfect! Terrific food, service and atmosphere.
