   The food was great, but the service was terrible. We had to wait over 35min after being seated to get drink orders in. Staff were dismissive when trying to find our server, and we had to go to the hostess stand to be served. And the bill took over 45min to reach the table. Overall For the price, I was deeply disappointed.

   Our experience was fantastic. Our food was fresh, plated beautifully and flavourful. The service was great. Gabriel our server was very accommodating and polite which made our dining experience here even better. Drinks were also very good. I would recommend this restaurant as the best brunch in Vancouver!

   I have been to Botanist numerous times over the years. Unfortunately, the past couple of times have been disappointing. In particular, the service quality has dropped significantly for the past two visits there. The previous time that my friends and I were there and had the private room booked for our brunch, the server did not know the menu and what aspects of some dishes were. He told us to Google it. There were several more issues that our group experienced including not providing us with everything that was part of the brunch menu. Last night, I went with 3 friends for dinner. We were disappointed to have had to wait so long for our main courses to arrive. The table of 4 next to us that was seated after us received their entrees and finished eating them before we received ours. I brought this to our server’s attention but she indicated that the dishes are ready. She was not apologetic for how long we had to wait. When we received our dishes, they were all cooked at different doneness levels despite all 3 asking for medium rare. Only one of the 3 striploins was actually medium rare. When we brought it to our server’s attention, she said that the colour could be affected by the window blinds. Even when we moved the dish to the other side of the table, the doneness level remained the same - done. The manager did come by to chat with us, and our server brought us 4 complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. I was extremely disappointed by how the quality of service has gone down over this past year. I had visited a few times during the pandemic and still had better service then when hospitality staff were short handed. I was looking forward to a great experience last night with my friends and was sadly disappointed.

   Amazing food! You get a choice to choose from a 2 or 3 course meal (starter, entre, dessert). Our waitress was friendly, and knew when to follow up to ask about food quality (you know it’s just too much sometimes when they constantly follow up at other restaurants), I highly recommend this restaurant whether it is with a date, or with your family!

   Probably the best brunch I've had - drinks were super yummy, food was delicious and the staff (waiter & hostesses) were very friendly. Would definitely recommend to everyone if they are in Vancouver!

    I asked for quiet table as I am hearing impaired. They gave us a very private dining area which was lovely and allowed vibrant conversation despite the high ambient noise outside its private three walls. Food and service were impecable. I had not been to Botanist since pre COVID. We will return soon.

    Super attentive waiter and sommelier. Both were friendly and took time to speak with us about the kitchen and its workings. Food was perfect. Coming from Quebec we had some sticker shock but prices are what they are in Vancouver.

    Everything was great except the Salmon main course, it was too salty, where we couldn’t finish the serving. Service between courses was a little too long as well. Cocktails were amazing, first course was amazing - we had the burrata salad, beef tartare & mushroom toast.

    Our server, Brandon, provided excellent customer service. He even gave a small dessert for my wife as Mother's Day celebration. But, the noise in the surrounding was way too loud. We couldn't hear each other across the table. I can barely hear my wife speaking as she sat next to me. We had to speak much louder.

    Spent a long weekend with friends in Vancouver, and we all loved our experience at Botanist. Gorgeous decor, phenomenal cocktails, the best salmon I've ever had in my life, and fantastic service. I will be back next time I'm in town.

    We tried the “We’ll take it from here” 5 course dinner with dessert. The waitress asked for any allergies or anything we dislike for food. Then, literally took it from there which we appreciated until the food came. Lot of the dishes were seafood based and we enjoy seafood plenty. But, the food had a fishy taste which usually happens when the ingredients are not fresh. First dish out was chicken wing with caviar. Not exactly a fan of caviar but the chicken wing tasted like old meat and smelled intense. Second dish was a soup like dish with some seasonal veggies which was mediocre at best. Third dish were the scallops which were chewy and smelled pretty intense, which is usually not the case if the scallops are fresh! Took us a minute to eat that because we didn’t want to waste it if you are paying $155 per person. Fourth dish was halibut with this magical potion which gave us some relief as were were starving literally and for flavourful food. Fifth dish was lamb saddle which was highlight of dinner and was perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning and sides. Then to cleanse our palettes came these marshmallows shaped like mushrooms which was delicious. Lastly, dessert which is a disappointment as well. After being disappointed with the first 3 dishes, we wanted to ensure we end on a good note with a bomb dessert so we asked for a chocolate dessert. Oh boy were we disappointed getting 4 cubes on our plate which again seemed like some of them were not thawed properly? Were still frozen. The service was phenomenal. Everyone made us feel special and were super attentive to if your glasses were running low with water and filled them right up even thought the place was moderately busy.

    This was an absolutely incredible experience. We did a six course tasting menu. The amazing presentation was only outdone but the unforgettable taste of each course. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for a repeat. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the staff, this is a world class place. We were honored have the opportunity to meet the chef as well. Do yourself a favor and reserve an evening at the Botanist.

    The night we visited a 6 course Tasting Menu was being offered and that is what we decided to go with. This was by far the best meal we have ever had. It was so wonderful in fact, we canceled an event so we could return the next night to do it again. The chef prepared a completely different selection of courses for us and therefore we were able to experience many different flavors and techniques from him. The food was beautiful artistry and tasted heavenly. The service was impeccable. Unfortunately, we live in the States and can not frequent this restaurant but we will plan more trips to Vancouver just because of this restaurant!

    This was a true dining experience. You can 100% see why they are a Michelin star restaurant. The service, the food, the ambiance, they nailed it. This was my boyfriend and my first time in Vancouver and on our next visit we will be sure to come back. The food was out of this world. Each bite so carefully and thoughtfully crafted. It tasted straight out of the garden. Which makes perfect sense being named the botanist. We created our own dining menu; which the waitress kindly coursed out for us. We started with the beet and burrata salad. My boyfriend who doesn't eat beets was licking the plate. Next came the wagyu carpaccio, sliced thinner than paper. Topped with a parm flavor and little crunch, providing both flavor and texture. For our third course we ate the scallops wrapped in duck prosciutto perhaps my second favorite bite of the night. The play on texture and flavor what this combo provided was mouth watering. As the fourth course we had lobster, topped with a lobster bisque table side...do I really need to say more. Last but certainly not least we finished with the best lamb a non lamb eater has ever had! If you can't tell we enjoyed from beginning to end. I don't think I could rave more!

    We have been to the Botanist twice on our way through Vancouver. We have done the "We'll Take it From Here" experience both times and were not disappointed. The chef has always come up with surprising, fun dishes. We'll definitely be back when we visit in the future.
