Great Beer

Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro in Bellingham, Washington is independently owned and operated. Since 1995, this eatery and brewery has gained popularity by serving fresh beer and food made from local ingredients. Adding to its character is the fact that Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro is housed inside a historic warehouse that was built in 1922. During nice weather, the deck is open and there is also a beer garden that is used for barbequing and enjoying outdoor concerts.

Aside from the amazing beer at Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, the food here is great too. There is hummus, chips and salsa, Bavarian pretzels, three different kinds of nachos and an incredible pulled pork sandwich.

My coffee was cold and not fresh and the meal took a long time. My food was great quality and i asked for a hot fresh cup of coffee which she brought to me however it was extremely strong for both myself and my mom who are avid coffee drinkers so I felt the waitress did not know how to make coffee. Everything else went well. We made sure to make a reservation as well.

Boundary Bay Brewery is a wonderful place to meet with friends, have a great beer and the food is fabulous! There is plenty of parking around the brewery and it is an easy walk. The food comes out hot and has never disappointed!

Boundary Bay Brewery has been a long time favorite. Delicious food, tasty beer, good service and a casual atmosphere. We chose to sit outside in the beer garden (due to COVID) and despite the propane heaters it was chilly. There was a wind advisory at the time so it would probably be warmer on a normal day. Overall highly recommend!

excellent. The server frequently came by to ask how everything was. I will come back again.

Beer and margaritas were excellent. Sandwiches were so-so. I had a BLT with all of the tomatoes on one side for some reason, and the bacon was way overcooked. Roasted potatoes were really good! We also had a Cuban, which was just okay. I thought the food was a bit pricey for the quality, or maybe the kitchen was just off their game on that evening. Staff seemed a little confused about which tables to use. We ended up eating outside, and that was nice. I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

My guest’s food was very good and she liked both of her drinks. My dinner was disappointing. The first plate of my enchiladas was obviously burnt. The 2nd enchiladas were prepared as they should be. I admit they weren’t to my taste, but that’s not your fault. My first drink was disappointing, but I loved my second, a pear margarita. I do not think that food and drinks, plus tip, was worth $100.

We were very pleased with the entire experience. I was able to reserve a table outside. The staff had strict covid rules which they followed and I appreciate that we were working to keep the servers healthy.

The food was excellent, beer tasty and we were glad that our dogs could join us on the patio. Great time!

Love Boundary Bay Brewery for dependably good food, but they've begun serving meals in low-grade metal baking pans, lined with a sheet of paper, burger-basket style. This does not work for salads, the paper becomes soggy and falls apart into the salad. I bake a lot at home and sorry, but baking pans are baking pans, not plates. Plus, low grade metal and aluminum are toxic. My cup of chowder came in a standard restaurant quality Buffalo china, so I figure they still have some real dishes. When I go next time, I am going to request my meal be served on real dishes, not bakeware.

Hi there! Thanks so much for the feedback. We completely agree that plates used pre-pandemic were much more ideal & welcoming. Our GM spent a lot of time researching the safest way to serve food during this time (for both customers & our dishwashing staff), and this came as a top recommendation. Sounds like we need to look further into the other possible dangers of this option. Every aspect of your safety is important to us - so we will absolutely be looking into this. Thank you for speaking up!

The food was really good, for the most part with generous portions. All staff was super friendly and helpful. Service was slow though - which may be ok if you just go to have a beer and hang out but is annoying when you’re hungry

Excellent food, surprisingly so compared to what you get at most brewpubs.
They’re taking covid regulations very seriously, I felt very safe.
Most outdoor seating is beautiful, the new tables outside of the bar aren’t as lovely of a setting but still good. Deck seating is ideal.

We were expecting something different for Brunch but our server was so helpful to suggest we stick around for the lunch menu! So glad we did because the food was delicious. I had pulled pork and coleslaw, hubbby had serloin and salad and we both were in heaven with all the flavor! Definitely will be back 🤩

I ordered the Blackberry Thyme cocktail. It was fairly small, no a lot of flavor and $9. I asked the server is she has had the Yam Enchiladas and she said, "Oh yes, that's one of my favorites!" I ordered that, and my husband ordered the sirloin steak. His plate came with a small piece of meat, some broccoli and mashed potatoes, definitely not worth $25. My dinner came and smelled odd. I looked further in it and it was the chicken enchiladas. My husband waved down our server and let her know that I did not receive the Yam and she said, "Ohmygosh, I'm sorry, I'll get that fixed right away." She brought me my plate and left. My husband was already done with his dinner at this point. I cut into one of the enchiladas, took a bite and it tasted like baby food. I opened the enchiladas up and it looked like mashed sweet potatoes, and that was it. There were no caramelized onions, cheese, etc. Our server did not check on us, not once. We got up, went to the front to pay. We let the gal know about our experience and she got our server and my meal was taken off the bill. This is not how I remember Boundary Bay in the past.

Our server was very courteous and attentive. We both had the fish tacos which were delicious. I had a summer cocktail “Our Maiden Voyage” that was refreshing and hit the spot. This restaurant has both indoor outdoor seating options and is taking all the necessary safety precautions. Dining there is always a pleasure.
