Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro
Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro in Bellingham, Washington is independently owned and operated. Since 1995, this eatery and brewery has gained popularity by serving fresh beer and food made from local ingredients. Adding to its character is the fact that Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro is housed inside a historic warehouse that was built in 1922. During nice weather, the deck is open and there is also a beer garden that is used for barbequing and enjoying outdoor concerts.
Aside from the amazing beer at Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, the food here is great too. There is hummus, chips and salsa, Bavarian pretzels, three different kinds of nachos and an incredible pulled pork sandwich.

We enjoyed an outstanding dining experience as we always do! The service, food and beverages were all excellent.
Dan was a great server! The chicken wings were delicious and so were the ribs. Great variety of beer.
The food was very good, Lamb Burger cooked just right with a decent salad. The staff was very helpful and attentive although. The Stout, as usual was outstanding.
I would suggest they become more aware of Bellingham's parking situation. Bellingham still has parking meter and fairly close enforcement and the lot across the street is permit only during the day. Believe that weekends and evenings are free.
Always a go to place when in Bellingham.
Excellent service and atmosphere and value. Loved the costumes of the servers.
Our Bookclub gets together at Boundary Bay once a month. We like to sit outside in the tented deck. Service is excellent and attentive. We’re there at least a few hours and never feel rushed. Separate checks are never a problem!
Our service was impeccable, food was great except for soups not being hot😕‼️
We were from out of town needing something simple on a Monday night. The service was very professional and unobtrusive. My carrot soup was excellent and the house salad was better than the usual for those and the portions were very large for the combo. My husband, however, thought his brisket was lackluster but was glad it was not too salty. Eat in the bistro for a quieter experience.
Good beer, the beef stew was delicious! Noise level is better with less tables, I like that.
We went to this restaurant for our anniversary with our children and found that it fit everyone’s needs perfectly. My kid was able to pick something that he liked and my hubby was able to find something for his vegetarian diet.
Boundary bay is pretty difficult to beat. Food is great and beer selection is good too. Been there many times and have never had a bad experience.
Unfortunately the server was very busy and didn’t check in. Once forgot to bring items. And brought my adult daughter a child’s drink.
The food was delicious and our server was attentive even though we were slow to select menu items. We chose patio seating because of COVID and in Spring they had had heaters, but no heaters on the rainy September day. They offered blankets, but we needed heaters.
Always good food and service. Funk band was great during dinner.
Food was ok, but we would likely not return. My wife loved her Harvest Salad with the Salmon add-on. I was much less impressed with the pan fried wings. The wings were quite meaty, but somewhat underdone. My Caesar salad was hohum.
Perfect temperature, outside on the balcony overlooking the beer garden with a very good Irish band playing. Great beer, excellent food.
This is the first time this have ever happened and I have been eating at Boundary Bay since 2007. The chips for out Everything Nachos were a bit stale.
Great beer. Ceaser salad had way too much dressing.
3of us had the fish tacos which we enjoyed. My husband had the French dip which was so so. Dry bun even with the au jus and meat dry as well.
Way too noisy with the big band. We couldn’t converse.
Food was great. Vegan options. Beer was splendid. Something for everyone. A must if you are in Bellingham.
We went on Friday. They had music in the back so sitting on the patio was the perfect spot!
Boundary Bay is always a good choice! They can very very busy as they are a popular Bellingham dining spot so it is great to be able to make a reservation! Very pleasant servers and nice meal choices. We had wanted the Friday fish fry but with the smoke conditions we wanted to eat in so it wasn't available. We were able to make other delicious choices! Always a winner.
Usually busy at peak times but making a reservation is a good way to go especially if you want to sit outside. They have done a great job during the pandemic.
The food here is amazing. So many great options for vegetarians. The music from the beer garden was really fun. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Reuben sandwich was amazing as were the chowder and salads! Our server was excellent as was the host. So fun!
Overall I think this was a good meal -- I know there is a worker shortage so our server was overworked and inattentive. I don't blame her but it definitely put a damper on enjoyment. We didn't get refills of water or pop nor was asked if we wanted another beer.
couldn’t hold a conversation, it would have been perfect off the music was just a little softer. We went to the skate park afterwards and it sounded like the music was being piped in there.
SUPER noisy, no air conditioning, food was very bland and service was very slow. Definitely need to add items to menu, fries etc.. for the cost of entrees it should include more options. Will not be returning.
True Bellingham vibe.
There was some confusion at the host station about our reservation, but a more experienced staff member arrived and fixed things. Service was good, food good. It was trivia night in another part of the restaurant, but the volume was loud enough that when the trivia host was talking we just waited to resume our conversation. Still a must-visit every time we’re in town.
Nice outdoor deck, live music often in the beer garden.
Good food for a reasonable price. Friendly service.
Awesome beer, food and service- will come back for sure!
The food was fantastic! And the beer was great too! They had live music and the venue had a lot of energy. Definitely felt a sense of normalcy in this COVID times. We will definitely be going back.
Nice attitudes, pleasant people at other tables, good simple food. Definitwelty recommend, will go there again.
I should be able to order and receive another beer before my first beer is done.
Never disappointed at Boundary.
Terrible service basics overshadowed what was supposed to be a fun family gathering. The server genuinely looked annoyed the whole evening. She had probably too many tables to wait upon inside and out. But she was incredibly abrupt. She never asked if anyone wanted another drink or anything else. Her unhappiness was palpable
What happened to this place? It used to be so good with friendly service. It's gone beyond down hill. It took us over an hour to get our food, so long that we ended up getting it boxed to go, which wasn't worth it. Worst ruben I've ever had, dry meat and slapped together with no meat on one side of the sandwich. We came on Father's day at 11:30 and it wasn't even that crowded. We have kids so waiting an hour plus for food is not an option for us. We will not go back as I've heard from others since going that they too have had similar experiences.
Food outstanding especially the green salad. IPA, as usual tasty
One of our orders was served so late the rest in our party were almost done with theirs. Only a little apology; they shouldn’t have charged for it. Food was not as good as we remembered.
