   First time at Boxer. Had Brussel sprout starter and added the Artic Char to make into dinner meal. Was excellent. Service at bar was very good. Nice atmosphere in restaurant - away from the busy main street but close enough to walk to the bars/music in Old Strathcona.

   The cocktails - as always - were delicious. The service was excellent. The food, however, was disappointing. Lacklustre in terms of flavour, selection and seasoning. The salad I ordered came with no dressing and tasted like it could have come from a bagged grocery store salad. The charcuterie was pretty mediocre too. Given the prices, I expected more.

   Went for the mothers day brunch - there was no effort put it into it at all. There was a small table of barely any seletion of breakfast food and another table for fruit. No coffee or drinks included. It honestly sucked.

    The brussel sprout salad had maybe one shaved brussel sprout on it and a few slivers of pear. Also the mimosa flight was an odd presentation. It said it comes with a bottle of prosecco but doesn't mention the bottles are miniature. Very underwhelming.

    Went there because it was listed as having a nice patio, got stuck in the very back nowhere near a patio, but instead next to a racist mural of Che Guevara and a mural that accurately described my feelings about coming. The pork belly and the accompanying salad were good individually, though together I found them to be lesser than the sum of their parts. The burger, however, was truly disappointing. While rare, was somehow also dry and flavorless. Nothing about that burger was worth its price. Speaking of overpriced, my partner got the salad and the optional protein addition of $14 was definitely the reason she didn't get it. The waiter was meh, he was neither over-present or under. I might be biased; I was on the fence, and his recommendation of the burger urged me to make that culinary mistake. I might harbor a bit of undue resentment. The cocktail menu was great, though. Tons of options. Overall, I would go back for beverages, maybe the salad; definitely not for the burger.

    The service was poor. We ordered appetizers and they weren’t put in, so they were brought after our meals. We also ordered a bottle of wine which took over 10 minutes to be brought to our table. There was also very little apology for the mistakes, nothing comped (not that I expected it, but just little acknowledgement of the mistakes made). The food was great though!     Will 100% be returning to this restaurant/bar. Immaculate decor, great service, fun with background music yet quiet enough to talk with my friends easily. Great for a birthday party, date, or just a new dining experience.

    Spectacular! From the craft cocktails, the appetizers, the mains—everything was excellent. The smoked olives were an absolute highlight, as was the charcuterie. Will definitely be back.

    The atmosphere was outstanding. We brought some friends who were first time customers and they commented right away on the 'vibe' of the restaurant. Our server Jayce was fantastic .....very attentive, professional and efficient. He went out of his way to make our dining experience flawless.

    We decided to have some tasty appetizers before going to the theatre and Boxer did not disappoint. We each had a cocktail… the cruise one and 2 tried the champagne socialist which were very nice. We shared 3 appetizers… the generous charcuterie board, brussel sprouts and beet carpaccio. The sprouts were crispy and in a delicious sauce with a touch of heat and the beets were thinly sliced and topped with a generous portion of greens in a creamy dressing. All was delicious!

    The Boxer had a very cool vibe. Great looking space with a really nice long bar. The food was great, I had the lamb shank which was cooked perfectly. Great cocktails and a really tasty bottle of red. We’ll definitely come back.
