    When we were seated we were promptly provided water and we ordered a cocktail. We reminded the next server we were waiting for a cocktail and 2 glasses of wine. Cocktail never arrived. There seemed to be a plethora of servers gathered at the entrance of the restaurant, but we had a revolving set of servers bringing us our order, but not checking if we were happy. We observed one server giving great service to a couple of tables, but otherwise the servers seemed to enjoy their own company more. Our flank steak was rare instead of medium rare. The mushroom tartine was lacking finesse, simply some chopped mushrooms and cheese on toast. We did ask for one steak to be cooked more, but it came back slightly cooked more than previously. We had already waited a long time for initial service that we just gave up. The sweet potato fries with the flank steak were very nice.

    Staff was very friendly, food was wonderful and presented beautifully, nice atmosphere in old hotel. I had the supreme chicken and highly recommend! My husband had Niçoise salad and liked it a lot !

    Food was absolutely delicious. Our server was so sweet. We came from Aura at Notre Dame Basilica, it's 2 blocks away. It was a Monday night and packed, glad I made last minute reservations

    We had the salmon tartare and the homemade ravioli. Both were delicious, serving were plentiful. Service was exceptional. Ambiance was charming and the music was not too loud so we could have a conversation at a normal tone of voice. I highly recommend the crème brûlée for dessert.

    I order the pork dish which was very poor in vegetables and cold ! Service was good! Maybe to quick to my liking. (We were served theiur wine glass and 2 minutes later our main dish arrived) Overall the ambiance was very pleasant!

    The portion size was perfect, the salmon had no flavour, the hazelnut sauce had minimal flavour, asparagus was over cooked and stringy, the cauliflower and crispy kale tasted good. Bread was salty. The table we sat at was not balanced and rocked all meal. The ambience of the restaurant itself was nice. I received two calls from the hostess and I answered the second....check in for our table...I informed the hostess we were sitting two tables beside her.....they never checked us in....

    Is 3 out of 4 good/bad/in between? We had two appetizers and two mains. One of the mains was just poorly executed (it was comped when we expressed our displeasure) but should never have been on the menu. The other three were courses were very good. Nice room. Great location. So probably stick to the basics at this restaurant.

    Fantastic restaurant in Old Montreal. Great ambiant music which matched the service and quality of the food. Try the Pavlova dessert, a tasty journey for any palate. I went there for their risotto and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing is that we had asked for a quiet table in an otherwise not so full restaurant but they seated someone right beside us. They did rectify the situation and accomodated us by shifting us over a bit so I could have a productive business luncheon with my guest. I plan to return. It would have been mindful for OpenTable to suggest a few parking spots close to the restaurant as Old Montreal is not the easiest place to find parking.

    I went to diner for my Sister’s birthday. The restaurant was very nice. It had lovely atmosphere and ambiance. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. I had the salmon tartare to start and then the steak frites with spicy aioli. My sister had the lamb for and a salad to start. Overall, the experience was great and we would eat at Brasserie 701 again.

    J invitait deux amis chez vous mercredi dernier, la serveuse leur propose le choix du chef un bon steak sans mentionner le prix. Très grosse déception car les pièces étaient avec beaucoup de tirasses et ne valaient jamais ce prix. De mon côté l agneau était toujous fidèle à ce que je m attendais. C est triste car j avais l attente qu' ils apprécient car c est un restaurant que j aime beaucoup et je souhaitais retourner avec eux , vraiment pas très bonne expérience pour eux.

    Excellent accueil, excellente nourriture. La coordination entre serveurs et cuisine demande une certaine attention. Exemple 1, on nous a présenté la carte des desserts avant que le plat principal soit servi. Exemple 2, à la table voisine, situation similaire : les 2 cocktails (Dry Martini et Mojito) ont été servis avec le plat principal à la grande surprise des clients. Josh, bien Friendly, a une part de responsabilité dans ces situations. Nous 4 avons quand même apprécié notre soirée.

    First time trying this place and the ambience was very nice it wasn’t too noisy and the tables were spread apart perfectly, cocktails were good and food was good but the beef tartar was lacking abit of seasoning , overall it was a good spot.

    DO NOT COME HERE. Sevice was terrible. I have to remind them that we are still customers. Food was bad. Steak sent back cuz overcooked. Drinks order was wrong. If u really want to come here, pls prepare to be transparent human that no one can see you. Well done.
