The escargot was the best we’ve ever had and we’ve had it all over the place from Toronto to nyc. Was also very kind of them to send us a glass of wine to celebrate our engagement.

Sea bream and salmon were excellent - nicely cooked and served. The chicken supreme was however dry on surface and pasta with it had hard edges - maybe it was sitting under warming lights too long? Most of this entree was not eaten but my gueat said nothing until later. Too bad as we would have drawn our server's attention to it.
The floating island dessert was very well prepared. Custard under meringue was flawless.
We sat outside, and enjoyed hearing street musicians as we dined. The host made excellent wine pairing recommendations. I had cassoulet du canard (I had not tasted this since 30 years ago when visiting Carcassone in France, and I was so happy to have a Languedoc wine to pair with it at Chez Jules). My wife reported that her salmon in a crepe was most delectable. The staff was attentive without being overbearing - perfect balance.
Service was indifferent at best. Waiter very offhand and only came to life when we were paying the bill! Charcuterie platter was good. Boulabaisse lukewarm with 2 pieces of fish, too much bread, broth cold. Awful and a rip off for $25.

Seating was tight and it felt like the wait staff was trying to move us through the meal to get another seating.
Food was prepared well and the wine we ordered was quite good! We had better experiences at other restaurants while visiting Quebec which I would recommend over Chez Jules.
This ended up being a great restaurant. I was afraid it would be too touristy but just the opposite. It was a great little bistro. Four of us had a great meal and everyone loved it. I had the mushroom ravioli which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
We were party of 4. My husband and I got the sole. It was very good and could have used more sauce. The onion soup is the best I can remember having. The escargot were a little bland and the ravioli too mushroom for my taste. The hit at the table was the risotto.
Meal pace was uneven. Got our drinks and apps quickly, dinner was about 10-15 mins after we finished our apps. Dessert offered 10-15 mins after we finished our dinner. We waited a while for our check too. Food was good, though.
Wait for food was long. Portions were really small.

They had me at the mason jar filled with cornichons on each table! Everything I love in a French Bistro! Lentil salad with grilled pork belly was delicious as where the escargot and sole. Friendly service and wonderful wine list. If this restaurant was in my home town, we’d be dining here weekly. Look forward to our next visit to this beautiful city and wonderful restaurant!

We had a great last dinner on our Quebec City trip at Chez Jules. It was delicious and our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The Paris Brest dessert was the best!
Our favorite meal in Quebec City! The meat and cheese platter and the French onion soup were lovely starters. I had the beef cheek a la Bourguignon, which was delicious—incredibly tender meat and great garlic green beans. Others in our party ordered the salmon, steak and frites, duck leg, and truffle ravioli—all exceeded our expectations.
The most authentic French food you will ever eat in Quebec. Great drinks , food was genuine the way you expect it and the service was superb. BRAVO.
We had excellent service. The waiter was ver friendly and efficient. The food was very good. We had snails, chicken and more and enjoyed it all.

This was our final evening in Quebec, and our meal at Chez Jules made it perfect. The waitress recommended the Sea Bream and she was right; it was perfectly cooked and delicious. Would definitely revisit Chez Jules when in Quebec City.

I had salmon encrusted in buckwheat. The salmon was very undercooked and had to be sent back. When the waiter brought my meal back to the table the salmon was cooked. The salmon was good, but the veggies inside the crust were mushy and tasteless. My husband had flank steak with frites. The steak was a bit tough and the fries were good. The highlight of our meal was dessert~crepes suzette. They were delicious! Overall our meal was average.

It was a very disappointing experience, I was expecting more based on other reviewers: the service was lacking at best, and the food was over cooked, over seasoned and just uninteresting.
Hi! We're very sorry you didn't enjoy your salmon dish. It is described as a steamed salmon with mediterranean vegetables, served in a crêpe pocket. It is supposed to be fully cooked, and seasoned with herbs, dill, etc. I don't know if we missed this one in particular, or maybe it simply wasn't to your liking, in which case we're sorry as well. We understand that your server offered to immediately replace your dish, as is our policy, and you were served within five minutes. Cordially, Chez Jules
Paris in Quebec....with food to match. Duck was superb.
Atmosphere was superb, with a new updated and tasteful.menu selection. Staff was professional.and polite. Meal was served not as requested and overcooked. Staff did try to make every effort to correct the selection.
First night in Quebec and we wanted something classic French. Snails were delicious, they had gluten free bread for me which was very nice. Everything was happy with their meal. Got the duck was it was so salty I had to send it back and just got more snails. Meals was good, nothing crazy memorable but ambiance was very nice and we sat outside.
We had a fabulous meal on our last night in Quebec City. I had the beef Bourgogne and it was amazing. The wine list is excellent and fairly priced! Our server was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I think his name was Francois and he is the assistant manager. Highly recommend if your in the area!

I made a reservation for 5 at Chez Jules to celebrate my brother’s 77th birthday. The waiter showed us to a very nice table where we could enjoy our conversation. We began with cocktails and wine. Then we ordered appetizers including carrot soup, French onion soup, smoked salmon, & Brie cheese tart. We thought each one was very good and the presentation beautiful.
For our main course, we ordered sole meunière, roasted sea bream, braised beef cheeks a la Bourguignonne, and confit duck leg, My sister loved the duck leg. I thought the sea bream was delicious as did my sister-in-law. My brother enjoyed the beef cheeks that were prepared perfectly. The sole too was nicely prepared.
Because we were able to enjoy a leisure evening, everyone ordered dessert. Creme brûlée, crispy chocolate ganache, Paris Brest, Floating Island and assorted sorbets. The sorbets were refreshing after a large meal. Each of the family found their dessert excellent.
We travel frequently and eat out often. I would highly recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists. The waiter was so attentive and entertaining. My brother and sister-in-law live in Quebec, and they said the food was some of the best they’ve had in a long time.
Outstanding food and value and for me the best overall restaurant in Quebec City we ate at. There are a lot of very good options but this stood out as outstanding.
