Very good food and service
We were warmly welcomed and seated at a little table, I ordered the ribeye which was delicious! My gf had the salmon which did seem slightly uncooked in the middle but most likely was meant to be served that way. To start we had the corn bread which was amazing. The drinks were top shelf, old fashioned and paper airplanes. The desert was good as well. We will definitely go back
I love Braven, one of the nicest and best restaurants in Edmonton
Outstanding food and service. We will be back after Covid shutdown.
It was a very nice dinner and the service was very very good. I would come back again.
Amazing place, amazing food, amazing service. Go here
Excellent service and even better food. Seems like its my girl new favourite location will definitely be coming back.
Steak was average quality..cheese cake was excellent. Hopefully they buy meat from COSTCO LOL
First time trying Braven and will definitely go Back !!
Food was great! Mushroom soup was not good, tasted like flour, roux wasnt cooked fully. We loved the restaurant but the parking experience was less than desirable. They said to park in the ice district central parking but the access gets closed after a certain hour (we left early around 7pm) then you have to contact many people to even be able to get back into the parking lot. Kind of ruins a good experience. Prices are what you expect of a restaurant like and the flavours dis not disappoint (except for the soup) but a 7oz filet at 46 dollars with no sides when the actual value of the steak at cost must be around 11 dollars seemed absurd.
Came here to celebrate a birthday!
Parking for this place is a nightmare and I couldn’t find anything on the website that helped prior to me going out. After 15 mins and an explanation from Marriott got to the parking garage at the other side of the building. We could have bucked up $35 for valet to park at the Marriott but why. So we had to drive to the other side of the building to park.
Hostess was nice but didn’t know much about the parking issues. Due to covid a number of the walkways were now closed to access the other parking lot so we didn’t know how to get back to our car when we are finished.
Table we got was pretty small and felt like a table you sit at for fast food not a steak house had to pile things up on the table to fit everything when our entrees arrived. Everything else about the room was great I found but it was pretty dark and our table didn’t have a light above it. Probably due to coronas.
Server was nice but service was lacking. Didn’t seem crazy busy but felt like we just had an order taker, we had to flag her down if we wanted anything. Dessert was served before the cutlery and to get that we had to go ask the hostess for it. Took for ever to get the bill, I had enough time to go to the hotel front desk to get directions to the parking lot come back and still wait 10 mins to pay up. Yes it was that long
Food was fantastic from apps to dessert only issue is getting salt in a dish with a spoon. Hard to sprinkle a bit on when it is served like that but I will blame the Ronas for that as well. Food was great though!
We change to booth table. tables for two was to isolated. The steaks was delicious. The salmon wrap in prosciutto was okay. It would be nice to add a drizzly caramel or maple sauce to cut the salt from the prosciutto.
Waitress was excellent.
Shouldn't call yourself steakhouse with two types of steaks on the menu.
Service was excellent, during vivid, so limited seating, but restaurant was still pretty busy. Food was very good, except the sides. They were only ok.
I enjoyed celebrating Birthday with my hubby and friends.. they came out with a lovely dessert that says happy birthday on the plate !
Food was delicious and service was fantastic!!!!
The server was lovely and personable. Our meal was perfect. Great night out.
Our server was amazing but the food was mediocre.
Food was fabulous and the atmosphere was perfect for date night.
The service was really good! Food came out quickly and the cocktails were very good.
Ross was awesome in meeting and greeting us! Our food took over 20 mins and we had to ask a few times thought they forgot about us!!
This whole experience was very confusing.. from the parking, to finding the restaurant to where we were supposed to get seated.. our table wasn’t ready so they sat us in the lounge and they told us our table was ready but we’re hesitant to transfer drinks they wanted us to set up in the lounge before going to the restaurant it was all very confusing and the cocktails were definitely the worst I’ve had. The server was really nice but I definitely won’t be going back
The food was decent and the space is very beautiful.
Friday night-reservation -several items not available including the Ribeye! Table for two was tiny and on the verge of uncomfortable. $35 valet is nuts. Not worth the effort to go downtown for dinner.
Downtown dining week was a huge win for Braven. Guests and I, enjoyed a three course dinner for an affordable $50. Food was amazing and very well portioned.
While the ambiance and décor of the restaurant is nice, you go for the food. Sadly they are sorely lacking in this department. I had the Calamari, Brisket and Vanilla Ice cream. The calamari was good, better than average, but certainly not amazing. The beef brisket fell far, far, far short of expectations. It was as far as you could get from melt in your mouth / fall off your fork without being burnt. It was overcooked, a bit dry and tough. If I was a chef, I would be embarrassed to serve a dish so poorly prepared. On the plus side, the vanilla ice cream was great! It’s hard to screw up vanilla ice cream and thankfully they did not after the brisket disaster. First time trying, won’t be back again. Way better options in the city who know how to prepare food.
Had a wonderful time and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was very good. Only thing to point out the parking validation which is only 90 minutes. Could be longer if this is a fine dining experience.
This restaurant is usually verrrry noisy. Due to COVID restrictions capacity is greatly reduced allowing for a more enjoyable experience.
The food is quite good and server Carl, superb.
Went for downtown dining week, the braised beef had run out, told this happened two nights in a row. My canelloni was forgettable and not very good. Braven is a higher priced joeys or moxies.
The food and service was awesome. Definitely recommend as we were very pleased.
Service was poor, literally took over two hours from sitting down to getting out entrees.
Food was nothing special, especially for the price. Mediocre, the other couple with us agreed that it left something to be desired.
The room was nice, I did enjoy the atmosphere.
The food was very underwhelming, especially for the price point. The calamari and tuna were barely seasoned and the soup was barely warm. Service was very friendly though
Went for the first time and will definitely be back again! Food was spectacular, with something for everyone on the menu. Classy restaurant in which you can dress up but also laid back enough that jeans work too. Service was amazing with suggestions on food choices and very personable staff.
Outstanding. Only thing better than the food was the service. Our favourite restaurant for a special occasion.
Seated too close to exit; felt like we were eating in a hallway. Food fantastic.
The overall experience was excellent. Amber our waitress was AWESOME, food very flavorful and nice portions. Will definitely go back and recommend
Attentive service, great food and wine selection.
Was there to celebrate a birthday. Terrific sashimi and tartare - you will not find any better ones in town. Only that the server messed up the order, three times, brought dishes in then quickly took them away. Not perfect, but not detrimental either. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere is amazing and the service was great. Food was very good, but not a place I would need to visit for a second time.
My husband and I booked a table for our anniversary there on a Friday night. We got 15 min late, however i notified the restaurant via their text confirmation service.
Once we arrived one of their male host had taken us to one of the worst table in the restaurant and tells us "Happy Anniversary, Enjoy!" Obviously, I thought initially it was a joke, however once i asked him if there was another table in the restaurant, he very rudely indicated "you guys were late so we gave your table away!".
I felt like he put us in the corner of shame. This happened while the restaurant had multiple empty tables.
He let us sit there for 2 minutes and then returned to us saying that he found a table for us.
I guess to put it in that way. My husband and I have traveled the world and have been late to restaurants in the past and no one has ever treated us this way, but at Braven I believe they may have a false perception of self inflated ego that they are too cool for people to arrive late (but notifying them).
I hope someone monitors these reviews and they have a talk to their hosts on how to diplomatically behave in these type of situations instead of being passive aggressive. In the meantime I will make sure that our friends in the city do not waste they time and energy at Braven( there are better restaurants in the city to enjoy a weekend night)
