   Amazing food. Had the maple BBQ fish (Kale purre that can with it was a thing of magic). Garlic bread was exceptional and really good mocktails. Very refreshing. Definitely coming back again.

   I was definitely into the ambience; they have an identity that is uniquely memorable. Though, the kitchen is open, loud, and exposed to half the dining area, so noise levels can be a bit much. That, and they mix seating styles; as in, booth on one end of the table, chairs on the other (which I know is “the thing” these days, but I still hate it). The food is luckily the star of the show here. It’s all Family-Style (of course), which I’ve grown fond of, as it encourages friendly collaboration. Do not let their vague menu fool you—understand that they’ll put a “spin” on even the most “normal” sounding items. For instance, the, “Garlic Bread,” is more than you’d think it is and I highly recommend! The, “Rigatoni,” was also a fave, simple; yet, flavourful. What I appreciated was how the flavours would grow on my date and I the more we ate certain dishes—the, “Wagyu Beef Carpaccio,” was like that, as were the, “Eggplant Fries,” (don’t knock it 'em you try 'em). For dessert, “The Banana Pie,” is the way to go, perfect way to cap off the meal. Our server was great. They had a bit of trouble matching our energy in the first half, but eventually figured it out. They were helpful in explaining the items, and encouraging in our exploration of the menu. Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone with adventurous tastes buds and a high tolerance for background noise. That said, I’ll need a to go a few more times to see if the menu itself can overtake the novelty of a new experience. Happy dining.

    As is my pet peeve with many other places; near the end of the meal when the service slows down, even though there are less customers than when we were seated. I was hoping for another cocktail after the meal, but waited so long that I instead asked for the bill when the server eventually came back. That one detail would’ve also made me feel inclined to leave a more handsome tip. On another note; The Rainbow Trout was one of the best dishes I’ve ever experienced while dining out.

    This usually excellent choice was so short staffed that we didn’t see our waiter for long periods of time during our lunch. Wanting to order mains after some shared plates, I finally flagged down another waiter after he had served the adjacent table. It was 2:04pm. He took the order, then came back and said the kitchen closed at 2. Seriously. Our waiter then appeared, and apologized for abandoning us. Kitchen stayed “closed”. So - no/bad service, no “last call” for the kitchen, and no flexibility. This is how good restaurants become less so. Very disappointing.

    Our initial drinks took 40 minutes from when we got seated. After we finished our first drinks and had them sit out empty and we were never asked if we wanted another drink, I had to ask prior to getting our main course if I was to get another drink if it would come in time to have with the main course. The drink did come in time and the food was great. The other peoples deserts looked great but we weren’t asked if we wanted dessert nor did we get a dessert menu so naturally we felt it was time to go. The waitress was nice but unfortunately didn’t do a great job.

    Our server was very attentive. Except we ordered too much food upon her recommendation that we ended up taking home. We enjoyed the appetizers more than the entrees. especially the eggplant fries and chicken liver pate. I think next time we’ll just get a bunch of appis as to share. We didn’t have any desert this time but they are also very decadent and delicious, especially the banana pie. Also love the atmosphere, very hip vibe, although it’s a bit noisy.

    The food was excellent! Not one dish that was not loved by the entire table. A bit pricey, but a generous serving size, we left super stuffed. Everything is made to share. The only thing I would say is that the food takes a bit longer than expected, definitely allow yourself lots of time to eat there. That could have just been because we were a group of 8, but we were there for just under 3 hours, which felt long. We probably waited a minimum of an hour between the small plates and the dinner plates to come out.

    The food is outstanding, also service was great, we had reservations at 5:30pm. It there was something holding us, but staff hold the table for us till 6:30pm, we were happy.

    Overall I always have a great experience here. The Brussel sprouts and Halibut tasted great. The wagu beef tartare wasn’t my favourite. I miss the old steak and mushroom dish they use to have. There was a party going on so it was a bit louder than usual. But as stated before always a wonderful experience and will continue to dine here in the future.

    Our Server was great! One person in our group had food allergies and our server knew the menu and let us know everything she could and could not eat. Also all the runners were aware of her allergies. As always food was amazing!
