worst service i can remember. it began with the surly hostess who seemed unable to welcome customers or smile or even seem to care. the waiter was distracted & slow. i ended up commiserating with 3 other tables who all agreed it was bad - we all began talking when 1 of them complained they were going to miss their flight & another table was simply trying to get their cheque. it took over an hour for the food to arrive but the final straw was when he took the Lord's name in vain in front of everyone (JC) which darkly changed a training opportunity to improve his service into grounds for dismissal. i have enjoyed brio since it opened but am disappointed that 2 staff members were so poorly trained & that expectations for them seemed to be so lacking from management. the only way i got bread & help for things was by asking the other (much more attentive) servers. when i asked the hostess for something (a mistake) 20 minutes when by with no response so i asked a much more helpful waiter. i would like to return but i do not want to be faced with such disappointing staff, but at least it seemed to be only the slow/distracted waiter & hostess. i am sure i will try again & hopefully it will be a better experience as it has been in the past. i would no longer recommend brio to other until i can return again & determine that this terrible experience is not repeated. when i left a completely different couple asked me how it was & i told them the waiter & hostess seemed surly & unhappy in their roles. they responded that they had heard similar comments from 2 other tables as well. hopefully management can address these issues as i would not like brio to get a negative reputation.

One of worst restaurant experiences we've ever had as far as service. Wanted to order a beer but the waiter didn't even give us a chance and disappeared after we asked for water. We ordered salads & they sat on the counter for 15 minutes until we finally flagged the waiter down to ask for them. Had to ask for bread too. When the food came, it was good, which was the only saving grace. Then came the long process of getting the check & a to go box. After waiting another 15 minutes I finally had to get up & ask the waiter for the check. Was also overcharged for a side Caesar salad which was supposed to be 6.99 with a meal & we were charged full price. No way we were going to try & have it adjusted because it would have been another 20 minutes. Love the food at Brio but doubt we will ever return after this experience. We've had 2 experiences prior to this where service was not great either so I see a pattern.

Brio is one of my favorite restaurants and they didn't disappoint. Our server was attentive and very helpful. The food was great and the time spent for a quiet lunch was a wonderful way to spend my Saturday afternoon.

The food is amazing! I've been in the Cary area for 13 years and never went until recently, but now this is my all time favorite. I can't explain how wonderful that food is. Every entree was decadent.

The meal started out pretty good. The spinach dip appetizer was tasty. But things went downhill from there. We were seated right next to the open kitchen which allowed us to see and hear a few things. The waitstaff and the cooks were exchanging in some very inappropriate conversation, things I’m not comfortable repeating here and certainly would not want customers hearing if i were in charge. We could also see how long plates were sitting under the warming lights before being brought out to customers. Our meals sat there for at least 20 minutes before they were brought to our table. The food quality was below expectations. My lasagna was just a mess in a bowl with so much cheese I couldn’t taste anything else. Then there’s the service … our server started out very friendly and attentive. But after the appetizer came out she disappeared for long stretches of time. Our glasses were empty for quite a while and the server was nowhere in sight. When she did return her entire demeanor was different. She barely spoke to us and when she did it was short, annoyed answers to our questions. She seemed really ticked off. I know things happens and I don’t think we did anything to cause her mood, but regardless a server has to be able to fake a smile and still deliver good customer service, and this server didn’t do that. Overall it was not a great experience.

A number of servers had earbuds in while waiting on tables. Our particular server never asked for our drink orders, just asked if we were ready to order within 2 minutes of us being seated. We had to repeatedly ask for refills on drinks/ice. Orders were incorrect and there was no effort to correct or even notice, for example olives on a salad where it was requested as no olives. Food was just lack luster. The one positive was the hostess— super cheery when greeting us.

Our server didn’t know what one of the ingredients that was part of our mean was. He went into the kitchen and asked the cook and he didn’t know either. Coffee came without any sweeteners or spoons. We ask for them and two giant soup spoons arrived and the decaf coffee contained caffeine. Basically one could say the entire experience could be labeling as a “Ball of Confusion “

music was relaxing & in the background where it belongs, the food was perfect, the service was very good but when i asked a question that the server could not answer someone came over & brusquely asked 'you had a question?' without stating his name or position or even greeting me! i explained i was trying to understand the flyer i had received about bogo for a future visit & when he sounded unsure (similar to the nice waiter) i wondered aloud if i should ask customer service & he raised his voice to ask if i thought he was lying & i quickly leaned forward & told him i never said nor thought that he was lying. later as i was leaving i reassured the waiter that i think he did a great job & the food was good but this was the first time i've ever had an unpleasant experience (due to improper training & i assume the brusque individual may have been a manager?) i've been dining here since it opened many years ago & i have held numerous events in their private room(s) over the years but i hope this unfortunate attitude becomes a training opportunity since it reminded me of kids in school who want to start a fight by challenging someone "are you calling me a liar" whew, it was surreal, i've never seen an employee (much less what i assume was a manager) behave that way & i even tried to explain to him after he left the table but he chose to ignore me . i do hope that if i ever encounter him again he will be more prepared to listen to a customer & help them rather than combative.

Malik was an OUTSTANDING server/host! The food was delicious and plentiful! My girlfriends and I met up for dinner after months of not seeing each other! We had a wonderful time enjoying the food, our server, the atmosphere- everything was really nice! The staff allowed us to sit and enjoy our conversations and laughs well after we finished our dinner. Malik constantly checked on us, other staff would walk by with smiles- no one bothered us or had this rush us away attitude and we couldn’t have asked for a better night! TEN STARS!!

when I booked the reservation, I said we were celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival, I told the hostess of Birthday, and when ordering, I told the Waitress about the Birthday Girl. But nothing was ever said from staff, and no dessert was ever offered. I had to ask the waitress for a dessert menu, which we did order. This was disappointing. If this is your policy, then why do you ask when making reservation, if this is a special occassion??????

Been to Brio multiple times, always had a good experience. This specific evening was poor specifically because our server was terrible. Multiple times we would go at least 15 minutes without seeing him, each time we ordered drinks we could see the bar and they were sitting there, he eventually would come back and say "just waiting on the bar for those drinks" as they were already made, and multiple times had to track down other staff members to get things we needed (silverware, napkins, water).

Thank you to the sweet hostess who seated me and my 90 year old mother (who uses a walker) in a very nice corner table where we could store her walker out of the way. We both had the avocado toast... The two pieces of toast were served on a large oval plate...the toast took up about 1/3 of the pate and the rest of the plate was completely empty. The presentation was very "blah". There was also a unique to the avocado mixture that wasn't my favorite. The egg was poached perfectly.

Seated quickly with reservation. Food was brought out very quickly but the Pasta Brio was just not good. The chicken was chewy and tasted like it had been reheated. (Almost freezer burned). The pasta was barely done and the sauce was bland. Didn’t eat but a few bites and couldn’t eat the rest. In the opposite side, my wife ordered the pasta vodka and it was great. Might go back at some point but will definitely avoid the Pasta Brio.
