We were seated next to a huge group of maybe 50 people and could barely hear each other. The server got tired of serving us after we were done eating and stopped filling our water glasses. There was a long hair in my food and the “pesto” pasta had no basil.
So went here on Sat, June 16 to take my boyfriend out for Father Day. He enjoyed his food but me and his son did not really like the food. Plus I received the wrong food the 1st time. Had to wait an additional 15 mins for the correct food.
I am not critical of restaurants normally. But on Thurs 6/14 I brought six business colleagues for dinner. A few concerns:
1. We were told your crab cakes are not from local crab, but are canned. If true, why?
2. One of seven dinners did not arrive with others. One of our party had to wait 15 minutes more as order was forgotten.
3. You were out of one of your common wines.
4. You were out of coffee.
5. The waiters dropped large trays of dishes THREE times right next to us (A woman at a nearby table had food and water land on her.).
Nice setting, good ambiance. Good location. Food average, doesn’t live up to the setting. Service inexperienced: many small mistakes including being somewhat surprised that any of us would want a refill of our empty water glasses. If you are in the neighborhood and want to have a pleasant meal, this is ok but don’t expect top food or service.
The food was very good, we all enjoyed it. We were there for my daughter’s graduation at Johns Hopkins University.
Pasta w vodka sauce was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Nice! Thanks! I will be referring you to my friends. I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Service was slow and unattractive but food was decent.
The service was great. The food was good. The cocktails were on point.
I had the lobster and shrimp tortellini and it was AMAZING. We had 7 people and everyone greatly enjoyed their meal and all said they would go back again. The drinks were very good as well, I personally recommend the white peach sangria. Everything was great, a little on the expensive side but definitely worth it.
Made a reservation for a business meal, in quiet area, preferably near window. We were seated in one of the loudest areas at a booth, table did not have a table cloth and table surface was very scratched and marred. VERY unprofessional, will never go there for another business lunch!
I went out with my cousin for Mother’s Day and the service was amazing. I to initially push my reservation back and it was done with no hesitation. I then came back in a little early and was seated early. Our service Devon was engaging and energetic and checked on us throughout the night. This was my first time eating here and I absolutely loved it!
Overall, a good visit but our server was very bad. He did not visit our table as much as he should have. My family members were very upset and have told me they will not go back to this place.
Brought my mom here for mother’s day. The ambiance was great and so was the service! Thanks!
I visited Brio for the first time this past Sunday, for Mother’s Day. My Mother and I were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and seated extremely quickly. We had the pleasure of having Sydney as our server. He was very attentive as well as knowledgeable in regards to the menu. We had a great time and will be back.
We chose Brio as a last minute option for Mother's Day Brunch/Lunch. The food and cocktails were very good and the portion sizes were just right. Also the prices were extremely reasonable. Our waiter, Quinten was great. He was very busy but made sure we were pleased. Even my kids 8-15 are looking forward to going back.
The food was excellent, I had the new berry and salman salad and it was delicious. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The reason I scored the ambiance a just good is it is very loud in the restaurant.
Arrived for dinner on a Sunday evening. Only two other tables occupied in entire restaurant. Lots of servers idle, however ours never offered any complimentary bread for the table, was less than enthusiastic, and did the bare minimum. Food was ok, but prices were inflated for the quality of the food. Nice building with large open ceilings, however I would not eat here again.
Lots of food for the price, and very good quality. Loved the bruschetta trio and appreciated our entrees were not overly salty like most restaurant fare. The salmon kids meal is a great deal, with generous portion of fish and bright green broccoli. Lots of room for a family with little ones. The front desk/hosts seemed disorganized and bickering among themselves, but our server was responsive and friendly.
We had a limited amount of time to dine; our server did a great job of keeping pace with our needs. She was genuinely concerned and made a pleasant lunch possible for us. Enjoyed the food, the ambience, but missed the outdoor seating we were hoping to enjoy as well.
I recently visited with my family. The entrees that my wife ordered were both very good. I would go back for those dishes. But the two kids’ meals were disappointing. Neither arrived as described on the menu and the food was not prepared well. My kids are old enough to care about that. Also, while our server was very pleasant, the level of service was disappointing. We had to remind her of certain things (e.g., bread and a side item) and her stops at the table were infrequent and rushed.
This was not our first dinner at Brio but wow, it was surely not the best. I recommended Brio to friends one of whom is gluten free like I am. I have had several good GF meals here and I thought he would enjoy it. The service was slow and what seemed like a long time to eat actually became much shorter than it should have. The server was not that good. He seemed to lack understanding about gluten and it impacted our experience. Both my GF and I ordered the same GF item form the menu but that is not what we received. Instead, we received a tasteless dish that had been made to be GF and included none of the yummy items that were on the original dish. There was not enough to send the food back since the slow service has put us outside of our time window. I was very disaapointed. My friend ate the dish and told me he enjoyed it. I ate mine too since by then I was starving but I did not enjoy it. Thankfully, the rest of the evening was awesome.
Normally we go there to be assured of a consistently decent meal. however, this last visit, the other couple we were with both had trouble eating as the sauces were so salty. and the lobster bisque was salty or something. dissapointing. usually, as i said its good. its italian so i cant rant and rave - itialian is good but ...italian. we will go again, this was one bad night. thats why the good ratings.
Wedding reception was wonderful. Thanks for Sidney was the best
Great location & menu, server was overwhelmed—too many tables.
Courteous, professional, appropriately attentive service on a very busy night with the Light City Baltimore festival across the street. Food was up to standard and bruschetta special exceeded expectations.
We have been to this location many times. It was the worst experience ever. Horrible service. It was so loud you could not talk and then they started playing loud music in the restaurant. Food mediocre, not hot. My husband’s meal was like two bites for 40.00!
We decided to celebrate at Brio since my sister loved eating there when she lived in Florida. We were highly disappointed after eating at the Baltimore location. We were greeted by a very grumpy hostess and we had to send two dishes back. One was very bland and the other was a steak that had more fat than meat. Our waiter was very friendly but whoever brought the dishes out practically threw the dishes at us as if he were annoyed and rushing. So the experience was a nightmare! So basically my nieces 18th Birthday was ruined! This meant a lot to us and hopefully she can forget this part of her Bday celebration.
I was with a friend in the Inner Harbor. We had dinner at Brio. I had the lobster and shrimp ravioli. REALLY GOOD! SHe had a chicken pasta and also enjoyed her meal. We both tried the blackberry cosmos which were very good. Great location in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. Good value as well
Fabulous and knowledgeable waitstaff and Wine server!
Went here because we were at a conference and had a gift card. Food was mediocre and the service was just ok. Expensive for mediocre food. So many better places to eat in Baltimore.
We had a reservation for 6 at 8:15 when we arrived, the hostess advised that they were running behind & "she had NO IDEA what time we would be seated". We probed for an approximate and she kept repeating herself. Since it appears that everywhere else was going to require a reservation, we decided to wait at approximately 8:45 we were seated then we waited until 9 pm for a server to show up ONLY AFTER WE stopped 2 other servers and advised we had been sitting for 15 minutes. We indicated we were immediately ready to order & surprisingly our food came quickly. After the server cleared our plates she kindly put the check in front of us. Our plan was to have dessert/coffee & we made 2 attempts to get her attention & advise but they went unnoticed so we paid the check and went to a another establishment to finish our evening. This was our first time at the establishment and we were visiting from NJ the food was good but if the staff can't handle a busy Saturday night on a mildly chilly day. I don't want to be there when the weather warms up and the area is heavily populated. We were somewhat turned off at the service and felt compelled to advise you.
The location and the food was outstanding.
I brought my mom to Brio for her 51st birthday. Although we had a reservation, it was still a wait. I ended up sitting with my mom at the bar. We never got seated but we had great service, drinks & food at the bar. Hopefully when I go back, maybe I’ll have a table.
Food was excellent. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back.
Wil was the best waiter ever 2nd time here and excellent service
Guests have to get over/past “service” at the hostess stand. It is atrocious. Real service happens at the table with warm, welcoming and accommodating waitstaff. Outstanding table service and good food make it worth returning. Please train your hostesses and staff at levels to accommodate peak traffic.
Interesting -- food was fine and we enjoyed it and had zero complaints. Server was absolutely awful. We did bring this up to the manager; the chef did come and talk to us. They, too, were upset. One of the worst service experiences ever, but I hope the restaurant will address it. They should know who this review is coming from. Again, food was great.
The host showed me to my table fairly quickly since it was not crowded as I expected it may be. Even though it was not crowded It took a fair amount of time for me to be waited on. No one came to assist me until I stood up and put on my jacket. I was not leaving, just anticipating that I may need to go outside to meet my guest. Once I stood and put on my jacket the manager walked by and asked have I been helped yet, I said no, and shortly after the waitress came to my table. Other than the delayed service the restaurant was nice with a great view to people watch. the wine was good, the food was great, and the ambiance allowed me and my guest to have a great time chatting and getting to know each other.
Our recent dining experience was not quite as good as it usually is at Brio here in the Inner Harbor. Not sure why. However, we all really enjoyed a tasty meal and had a very good time. We still highly recommend Brio as a great place to go for an informal get-together. The location is very convenient, the food is always good, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
