For years, when we wanted something more than Mexican or BBQ, we always drove to Austin. After reading numerous reviews, we decided to try Brique. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. Their food reminds me of Jack Allen's uniqueness but with Downtown Austin's Moonshine Grill ambiance. This was our 3rd time to eat at Brique and just like the other times, the food brought smiles to our faces. The Chef truly knows what she is doing and attention to detail is exceptional. Our family loves these items on the Dinner Menu: Fried Pickled Okra, Brique's Chicken Fried Chicken, Saute Brussels Sprouts, Hamburger, Beet Salad and Tejas Cheesecake; Brunch: French Toast, Monkey Bread, and Waffle w/Chicken.

I had the Blackened Red Fish (again). Just love it. My brother had the 1/2 chicken with Prickly Pear Glaze. I tried it and will be what I get next time. Unfortunately, they were out of my favorite wine but found something else that was very good. Did not have room for dessert but really wanted the Strawberry Pavlova. Had to pass this time, but one day I will got for just the dessert.

This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. Started off with an off-menu salad that was created for Cinco de Mayo but they are considering making it a permanent addition. They need to! Charred zucchini & Squash, avocado, smoked onion vinaigrette on bib lettuce with pumpkin seeds. The ribeye was so tender, you could actually cut it with the butter knife. Great flavor too. The blackened red fish was so moist and tender. Loved it. We tried the dessert flight and two of them were huge. There was a small pazookie with ice cream and the creme brulee (enough for 2 to share). The last one was a strawberry pavlova shortcake. AMAZING!! We decided to eat it and take the others home. You can expect prices similar to Austin on some items, less on others. Our bill included 2 salads, 2 entrees and the dessert flight, plus a bottle of wine. With tip, it was about $165 (we tip well too).

From the time my party walked through the doors until we were leaving for the night it was magnificent. We had 10 people in our party and everyone ate every single bit off their main course. The food was the best I have had in a long time and I eat at many expensive restaurants. It is definitely worth the drive to Elgin for the food hospitality and atmosphere.

My meal was excellent. I combined a breakfast selection with the special Easter menu so I could get exactly what I wanted and had plenty to take home. The dewberry champagne cocktail was refreshing and not too sweet. It balanced great with my ham and pancakes. The honey butter on the pancakes is to die for and the Easter ham was wonderful. I took home my 10 layer carrot cake for an afternoons in snack which was super moist. Would definitely recommend Brique for any meal. I have visited for brunch and dinner several times and have not been disappointed.

All of the hot plates came out warm to lukewarm. The macaroni was cold after just a couple of bites. My wife loved the 1/2 chicken.

For prime rib, the steak had a lot of fat and was excessively salty. The mashed potatoes were OK but the wine was very good. My wife's fillet was very salty as well. I ask him for my prime rib to be cooked medium well and it was cooked medium rare

Old historic building. Not too full, on a Saturday night. I had the peach glaze chicken, which was fall of the bone awesome, with mashed potatoes and fried brussel sprouts. Extensive wine list. Fried brussel sprouts as a starter is very good. Beet salad was very good. The mac/cheese was undercooked and plain. But, cant go wrong with mac/cheese. Hubby had pork on the bone and was not knocked over with this. Cheesecake was fresh and nice. Young girls waiting tables, communication between them seem dis-jointed. Lots of attention from wait staff but, no one seem to know where in the process the meal was....... Everyone was very nice!!! I recommend it.

Great atmosphere, wine selection and local sourced food. The chef is amazing with the flavors of the options. The Blackened Redfish was so juicy with a nice heat to it. Served with rice and seasonal vegetable. They also have a Chicken Fried T-bone with mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies. My favorite wine, Heinz Eifle Riesling. An added bonus to my wonderful meal. Locals have said it's too pricey for Elgin, I disagree. The most expensive item on the menu is a 10 oz filet ($37), next is a 16 oz ribeye ($36). In Austin for the Ribeye, you will pay a minimum of $40 for just the steak in most places. I hope Brique will be around in Elgin for a long time. We will be going back often.

Enjoyed the crawfish boil at The Brique, though we thought that the plastic bags containing the boiled crawfish allowed them to keep cooking longer than the optimum time. It would have been better, though messier, if the crawfish in the plastic bag would have been emptied into a large bowl or platter so they stopped cooking. Boudin balls were great. Beignets were a little chewy for our tastes. Not puffy like the Cafe Du Monde beignets, which is what we were expecting.

Took my wife out for date night dinner. About 30 min drive from home. Cute place, nice people. Two minor points: 1. They brought out our salad, then 5 minutes later our food. They took it back and kept it warm. Still very good. 2. Owner served our wine 🍷. He uncorked it, didn't present me the cork, once I said it was fine, he filled my glass, then my wife's. I'm a stickler for proper wine etiquette. Overall great evening!

I've eaten here several times. My favorite lunch is the Chicken Fried Steak with an order of homemade rolls and cheesecake for dessert. At brunch I've had the Brique hash which was amazing! My husband's favorite is biscuits and gravy of course. The dinner menu is more steak and seafood, and I've had their Filet and the Quail. I love the atmosphere, definitely not a diner but a step up with home cooking. I'll be back a lot.

The only thing I have to say anything negative about is the temperature. It was a cold morning, and the staff did not come in till opening time, which was also our reservation time. The restaurant was in a huge old building, which took a while to heat up. So it got comfortable right about the time we were leaving. Oh yeah, the Brique is listed on OpenTable's initial list as a Round Rock restaurant. It is only when you click on it to find out more about it, that you find out it's really in Elgin.

Went here for a birthday dinner... Nice remodel (this was the old City Café before), the food was awesome with good selections in several categories (steak, fish, etc...)... Awesome wedge salad, great desserts, and good service... Good upscale addition to downtown Elgin!
