We had our usual wonderful meal at the Bristol. We both ate from the "daily fish" menu which included two ample side dished to complement the ample main courses of baramundi and butterfish. It was a pleasure to have Sam provide his excellent service as he did during our previous visit to the Bristol.

Service started off very slow, had a large party (52) in private room, so everything was slow. The bourbon garlic shrimp with spicy mango pineapple salsa was fabulous. Bourbon glazed salmon on maple plank had great flavor, both sides, grilled asparagus and roasted potatoes were cold. Cream brûlée was perfect with extra crisp top, as requested. Would try again next time in KC.

The restaurant was beautiful and the ambiance was excellent but our food took a really long time to come out especially considering what we ordered. This put our server in an awkward situation and I felt bad for him. The food when it did come was really good.

They were overwhelmed by an event down town. Our waiter was excellent. We ultimately had to leave without getting our food because we were running late. We sat for an hour and fifteen minutes.

It's been a while since I've enjoyed this restaurant, unfortunately this experience didn't leave up to the memory. Greeting was average. Party of 6 squished into a corner booth more appropriate for a 5 person party. The whole restaurant seemed backed up as drinks took a while, appetizers took 30+ minutes to arrive and main course was 45 min after ordering. Tried to order and after-dinner drink (at the moment I received my dinner since it took a while to get said drink) to which our server shut us down and said they were "out." This was a $500+ meal that took 2.5 hours and I did not think it was worth that given the service.

The restaurant was empty. We desire to dine after symphony and theatre events. Kansas City has very few top restaurants available for this. We are fortunate Bristol excepts 10pm reservations. Bristol is a favorite because we are fish eaters. Thank you. Yet, the wine bottle menu was a disappointment. It took 3x asks to find a bottle. The bottle was nothing to write home about. The server was fantastic. Polite and bubbly. The bartender was sweet too. The Mussels and goat chess was fabulous. Perfect white wine sauce.

Bristol is typically fantastic. We’ve been many many times, but tonight was a tough night. I’ll start by saying service and atmosphere were great. The team was courteous and professional. The food was where we experienced issues. Two orders of maple plank salmon(both ordered well done) were served raw in the middle. When I say raw, I don’t mean underdone, I mean raw in the middle. The team at Bristol was great and fixed the issue quickly. We’ve had that meal many times and it’s been delicious, but tonight was just a rough night for the kitchen. We will be back.

The food was just okay. I got the shrimp lemon pasta. It had no lemon on it at all. And they forgot the shrimp. The crab cakes were good and the mashed potatoes were good. The lava cake was not that good it was warm not hot.

Apparently the reception desk didn’t check us in properly. As we got notice from Open Table we weren’t there. However, we were checked in early by a young lady who seemed uncertain of what she was doing. Mathew was our server and we spent about $160 including the generous tip we left.

Well I had only been there before in the private rooms which are great. The main dining room is open to the bar with TVs and people dress casual like it’s an Apple Bees. So if you’re wanting a nice date/occasion I’d stay out of the main dining. Valet was $15 cash only and he didn’t go get the car at night. I didn’t tip him. Won’t be back to the location downtown

They close the kitchen at 8pm on Sunday. When we arrived for our 8pm birthday dinner reservation we were sat and then turned away because kitchen had closed early.

I came in early to each brunch at the bar. There was only 1 other couple at the bar. I sat there for 10 minutes and the bartender never noticed me. I flagged down a waiter and got him to get the bartender’s attention. Placed my order and then someone else brought my food out. Bartender was still talking to the only other couple at the bar. I had to call out to get his attention gif a salt shaker. Never checked back. Never asked if I wanted a 2nd drink. I have never had such poor service at the Bristol. There wasn’t even the excuse of being busy. I talked to manager and she said she would talk to him later. Will be a long time before I go back for brunch.

Food and service are top notch. Was seated right away. Nora was our waitress appeared shortly after we were seated. She was very knowledgeable and entertained all of our questions as we are inexperience with wine. At times the noise level made it hard to hear your conversation, which is to be expected with the tables so close together and the number of people dinning on a Saturday night. Overall, it is worth the visit and I will surely be revisiting to try more of their menu.

My Husband & I had Dinner at the Bristol last week, kind of an impromptu Date Night, & met new (to us) staff that really made it a killer night. Tonight, we took his Daughter there for her birthday, & Brooklyn & Chef Zachary made it her best birthday dinner EVER, according to her. Incredible food AND service, great wine & SO much laughter. ABSOLUTELY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. DO NOT sleep on The Bristol!!! 🖤

This is a good restaurant. The cocktail and wine offerings were good and reasonably priced. Service was very good - attentive, engaging but not intrusive (thanks Kailey!). I had swordfish, risotto and broccolini. The swordfish and the risotto were very good. However, this is the first time I have ever been offered, without asking, a steak knife to cut the broccolini. Think about that for a second - they KNOW their broccolini is so undercooked that it might need a steak knife to cut it. And it did. I'm all for al dente veggies but this wasn't that. I don't get why they don't just cook it correctly to begin with. It reminded me of the old joke about the guy who took his car to the mechanic to get his brakes fixed. When he came to pick up his car, the mechanic said, "we couldn't fix your brakes so we made your horn louder". I tried very hard not to let the broccolini taint my overall impression of this experience but it's not easy. C'mon Bristol, you're a better restaurant than this.

The food was absolutely amazing. But the service wasn’t so great. We were rarely checked on, and it took over an hour to get our food. After ordering our dessert, we there for an 1 1/2. It was a great restaurant, but just a little bit of a let down.

I had not been to the Bristol in several years. We had occasion to go this past weekend on a Friday night and had such a great experience. It was busy and bustling on the inside, but we were able to get a table on the patio on a beautiful summer evening. It was a very relaxing atmosphere and fun to watch people walking by. But beyond that, we had excellent service and the food was beyond my expectations. My husband and I both ordered from the fish catch of the day options, and the fish was perfectly cooked. I had a had the halibut, at the server's recommendation, and my husband had the trout. They were also doing a special on Rodney Strong wines and I thought the wines we had were a great value. Overall, very happy with our experience.
