Brother Jimmy’s has celebrated over 30 years of legendary North Carolina, slow-smokin’ barbeque. As suggested by the restaurant’s slogan – “Put Some South in Yo’ Mouth” - Brother Jimmy’s mission was, and still is, to bring “down-home” cooking, hospitality and merriment to the heart of the Central Florida.

Over the years, Brother Jimmy’s established itself as the home away from home for A.C.C. Alumni. Homesick alums from Duke, UNC, N.C. State, Georgia Tech, U.V.A., Clemson, Maryland, and Wake Forest began to flock to Brother Jimmy’s to catch the big Duke/UNC game, or to watch the Demon Deacons take on the Terps. By opening in the popular neighborhoods, Brother Jimmy’s found a home in the hearts of its patrons. It has become the restaurant in that reminded Southerners what good ‘ol Southern hospitality was all about and showed Northerners just what they’d been missing all these years.

Had high hopes. The people were fab. However the meat was either no smoked long enough ( chewy) , or it was dry ( chicken). The corn bread was fab. Would try again in case it was just not the best night….. really wanted this pace to be amazing. I will repeat that service was fab.

There were not many other guests at the time be the sever was not quick to get water, drinks or return to check on us. The server did nothing to ask if we had visited before (we had not) or explain the menu, the restaurant values or make recommendations.

Went on a Monday evening. Food was very good. I gave it a 4 because by 5:30 they were out of Brisket. I ordered the fried Brussels and they were very overcooked and black. Amount of food was very good everyone in our party had leftovers. Just wish they had smaller portion options. 6 in party all adults.

Worst BBQ I ever tasted. The sliders were dry and the bread was stale. We ordered a half rack of ribs and they were definitely pieced together and reheated, they were dry hard to even chew. Mac n cheese was average and Cole slaw was bland. Sad because I heard good things but not today.

A little pricier than most BBQ places but food was very good. Portions were much bigger than expected. Normally I am a clean the plate kind of person but I got the three meat combo and couldn't finish it. Ambience is nice. This restaurant is at Icon Park on International Drive in Orlando in the midst of "tourist town". I would definitely go back again.

We've been going to BJ's for the last 20 years in NYC. This one was not good. The food was salty as hell/cold and the service was clueless. Hard pass.

Absolutely the best experience ever! The food was amazing. We started with the fried pickles and had dry rub ribs with Mac and cheese also the pulled chicken sandwich with homemade fries. All was fantastic, but what this visit extra special was the owner Carisa served us and she made us feel like family and that we’ve known her for years, and that is truly missing in so many business. I wish I wasn’t just visiting from out of state so I could come here and support this restaurant all while enjoying amazing BBQ. Thank you.

Went to dinner while staying in the area for business. Always wanted to try this place, but when I got here, they were out of rib tips, service was slow, despite it not being crowded, and my server was inattentive. The food was overpriced, in my opinion. If I return, it might be only if there’s an event.

Seated at table with ripped tablecloth, paying above higher end pricing for a meal. Mains brought out before appetizer with a “what do you want me to do?” response. Hush puppy appetizer dense and tasteless. One barbecue platter good, one barbecue sandwich served with burnt bun. Restaurant decor reminder of where I grew up, so that was nice. Serving staff okay, though had to remind on refills.

We are there on a Wednesday evening. Not a large crowd. The server was fantastic, the food was great. One of the best BBQ places we've been too. Used the valet parking. Nice experience

My friends and I had a rough experience at Brother Jimmy’s. We had reservations for 7 pm. The hostess was new and didn’t alert the server. The server was new and only claimed us as a table when we asked if we could at least order drinks (at 7:20). Since we’d had sufficient time to study the menu, we placed our full order (drinks and food) at that time. At 8 pm, we asked our waitress for a status update on our food. In the meantime, we had watched the tables surrounding us be seated, order, finish their meal, pay and leave. At 8:15, we finally started to get food. At 8:30, the manager arrived to talk to us at our request. By that time, 5 of us had our full meal (which was cold, not hot), but one had only received her side, not her entree. The manager explained that there had been a computer glitch, and that our order hadn’t printed in the kitchen, along with several other tables. Note: the manager did completely comp the check for the person who had only received her side, plus brought her food to go. He also reduced the check for the rest of us and gave us each the choice of a free dessert or drink. We took the dessert to go, because by that point, we’d been sitting on a picnic bench for 2.5 hours and just wanted out. We won’t recommend this place for others, but do appreciate how they resolved it once the manager got involved.

Spectacular. We were a very large group with kids and they were absolutely amazing about accommodating all of us. There is a back room with games where the kids could get up and go play and the adults could enjoy their drinks and keep an eye on them at the same time. Our server was an all star she never made us feel like an inconvenience or a problem at all. We had plenty of room where we were seated so we we were able to relax. Going out to eat with kids is never an easy thing and they made it absolutely as seamless as it could possibly be. Can’t recommend it enough. And as a bonus the drinks and food were amazing. The brisket , pulled chicken and the friend Brussels are definitely on my list to get again. If you want a casual judgement free atmosphere this is your place.

We were a group of 10 we arrived earlier than our reservation time and were seated within minutes. Our server was great she was attentive without being intrusive all of our orders were delivered exactly as we asked and everyone enjoyed their meals. From the appetizers to the main meal everything was delicious. This was our first time at Brother Jimmy’s but will definitely will not be our last. To Mike and his team thank you for a great experience.

Very nice, fun place. But the food was not great at all. My brisket and rib tips were like dry card boards. The pulled chicken was good but lacked flavor and the collard greens were horrible. Overall, nice place to have drinks and play Pac-Man.

Brisket was dry and hush puppies were burnt. They ran out of two of the kids menu options. Waitress was also the bartender so she couldn’t come check on us. Manager never came to table when we complained about the food. Kids enjoyed the games, but it was disappointing all around.

Service was good, server was very nice and checked on us frequently. Food was ok. Ordered quarter chicken and dry rub ribs. Ribs had no seasoning and were very tough. Chicken was ok. Expected much better for the price.
