Menu was confusing, food was good, plates could have been more balanced in terms of flavours. Overall, it was good but wouldn't go out of my way to come back. They did go above and beyond providing a to-go dish that was not ordered.

Had my birthday here and it was so lovely. Our server was awesome and attentive. The food was so delicious, honestly very fresh, tasty, hot, everything I expected from reading the reviews. When the night ended the manager came over and gave me this lovely little box of uncooked fresh pasta with directions on how to make it - a mini bday gift. I loved that touch and I loved a free delicious lunch the next day too. Will definitely be back!

Good was decent, but the service was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Server hardly checked in with us to see if everything was good. Long waits for anything that we wanted to ask him. Waiting over 30 minutes just to get the bill. I’d understand if the restaurant was busy, but it was towards the end of the night and we were one of the last tables. Server was just minding his own business chatting with other co-workers and pretending like we didn’t even exist.

We felt transported to Italy and loved everything we tried. The staff were warm and friendly and made amazing recommendations about food and wine. Also, we were celebrating a birthday and they really made it special for my friend, including giving her some extra delicious food to take home. We felt fortunate to have found this great place and would love to visit again.

We had a wonderful dinner with friends in town from another province. We all loved the family-style dinner and tried many things we otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to try. We all enjoyed our meal and the service and atmosphere was lovely. We will be back again soon. Thank you!

Overall, I very much enjoyed my first experience at BUCA. But I'm gonna keep it real here tho- this is one of Toronto's best restaurants and Italian spots in the city and full disclosure- it didn't live up to the hype for me. I've had better Italian food in the city at less expensive and boogie establishments with more of an ambiance than this place. A couple of the dishes were real standouts, like the eggplant dish and the tiramisu with apple and celery sorbet for dessert. The pizza was good but pedestrian at best and the anchovy spaghetti was truly one of the most nightmare inducing things I've ever eaten. Our waitress insisted it was not too "anchovy forward" but after one taste it's the only thing I could taste in my mouth for the rest of the night. I had two bites and honestly the dish was making me straight up gag. I'm surprised this is on the menu. I was surprised at how little this place blew my mind, but still had a good time.

Buca has changed, it was what it once was. Service was poor, even though they weren’t busy. Under-ripe tomatoes in the salad didn’t concern our server. Ambiance was unprofessional, music too loud, no light at the table making it impossible to read the menu.

After hearing all the rave reviews we’d read about Buca, we were so excited to go there. The food was utterly and totally disappointing. What was even more shocking was that the Maître actually implied that we did not quite understand subtle flavours in Italian food. Me, being a chef, and the rest of our group being very well travelled people, especially to Italy was quite insulting. We were the hosts, so we didn’t want to create more embarrassment for our guests, so we ended up returning some of the food, and, every time we tried reordering, were told that we wouldn’t enjoy those dishes as we clearly don’t understand subtle flavours. It was, by then, too late to go elsewhere, and we didn’t wish to further inconvenience our guests, so we order pizza. (Which, again, was taken with much reluctance!) Very disappointed. Extremely! I feel I tossed $414+ out of the window. Pathetic food. Pathetic service. Even our drinks order came wrong. And, considering that there was only one other table with one couple on it, they couldn’t even blame it on being too busy.

Honestly the food was very underwhelming. Ordered the ravioli and truffolo pizza and neither were overly tasteful, unique. Honestly wouldn’t go back!

First time visiting Buca, and it was exceptional. All around. Megan, our waiter was super helpful and sweet. We went to celebrate a birthday and they gave the birthday girl some fresh uncooked pasta to go. Food was tasty.

Buca was amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for an outstanding fine dinning experience. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The tiramisu was the best dessert i’ve had in Toronto, and better than most i’ve had in Italy.

The food and the service are OK but the place is absolutely too noisy. Just understand what the waiter said was quite impossible. Avoid if you are looking for romantic or just quiet dinner.

We had a wonderful experience at Buca. We believe that the best restaurants do not rely on good food alone. The best also have excellent service. That’s what we got last night. Our friendly waiter guided us with our menu choices and then explained the dish when we received it. We shared the in house cured salumi, salata pomodoro, and the funghi pizza. Everything was delicious. We’ll be back!
