Went with girlfriends for a birthday lunch. Connor provided excellent service and the food was great. We had a Stilton salad with beef, a Wasabi Caesar salad with beef, and the halibut in phyllo pastry. All were delicious. And of course the sticky toffee pudding was divine. Definitely recomment

Extensive whiskey menu. All four of us had steaks, which were cooked well, but all agreed underseasoned (a little more salt please to bring out that good flavour!) and confused by the creamy sauce on the plate that didn’t add much. Desserts are made in house and really good. Server was attentive and humorous. Overall a good meal and we appreciated the neighborhood atmosphere of this quaint restaurant.

Great place to grab dinner for any occasion. We had a whiskey sour with dinner, probably the best I've ever had. Menu items were top notch and the atmosphere was pretty casual. Great spot for date night, hidden gem!

Always a fantastic dining experience at Buchanan's. I had the wasabi Caesar salad with Alberta steak. So delicious! We shared a sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely the best in town.

I've been to Buchanan's dozens of times and I always order the cheddar burger. The one thing I wish they would work on is the consistency of how they cook it. I almost always order it medium rare because it always comes out medium well no matter what I ask for. There is never any pink left in the meat even if we ask for it that way. My two lunch companions ordered their burgers medium and all three of our burgers looked exactly the same. Why even ask how we'd like our burgers cooked if the chef is just going to cook it however they want anyway? The burgers are always very good but this is just one thing I wish the kitchen staff would work on.

We came to celebrate a birthday, our server was friendly and attentive, made great recommendations. Great place to come if you are a whisky drinker, the cocktail menu is rather small with a few traditional ones, but the cider on tap was very good if you like it light and off dry. Definitely would recommend the seared scallops, snapper and commodore beef.

Food was extremely well done: attention paid to letting ingredients & their natural flavors & textures shine, but creative when they manage to elevate an old staple like the caeser salad. This is going to be on our itinerary every time we're in town.

Loved getting back to Buchanan's for a business lunch after too long since last visit. Food quality is excellent. Love that they offer RedRex by the glass-possibly the only place in town that does(?). Really nice menu to suit all palates.

Our server Katie was the absolute best in every aspect! She knew the menu, had tried everything on it and was able to give us the best recommendations from adult to what the children might like best (which were ALL a hit!!). On top of that, she went out of her way for my young shy children and my husband and I, to make us all feel welcome and just have the best time yet! She was engaging yet respectful of our family time and left us wanting to return. The food was delicious and incredibly prepared, however Katie was the actual star of our evening making this one of the absolute best birthday experiences to date. We will absolutely be back for more as my children haven’t stopped talking about the entire evening! (Which is something special since most times they just want their iphone/ipads!). I absolutely recommend Buchanan’s for any event and cant wait to return!

This was simply one of the best meals I’ve had in years! Amazing bacon wrapped scallops appetizer. The Alberta filet mignon was to die for and the toffee pudding was one of the best desserts ever! Just the right amount of service and attention from the wait staff.

Buchanan's is a culinary delight - even their burgers are a gastonomical experience and should be tried at least once in your life - and I dare you to limit it to one try! Scotch connoisseurs will find the whisky wall heavenly. Desserts are delectable. Truly great quality, ambiance, service, and overall experience. Those from out of province will need to trek back again - you will miss it!
