Loved this place. The food was great. The only drawback was our server. He must have been stoned. Super clueless and when he brought the check he asked if we were from Cincinnati or Florida. Maybe an attempt to build a rapport right before the tip?
The service was great. I sat at the sushi bar
The Ocean Pyramid definitely lived up to the hype. I love that we were able to get in earlier than the reservation as we ended up having less to do before dinner.
I was visiting Atlanta with some friends and we’d decided to try a different sushi spot.
First, the reservation we’d made wasn’t honored. We’d gotten an email saying our reservation was confirmed through OpenTable. When we arrived, the host asked if anyone had a reservation and we stepped up and said yes. There was a couple there that arrived before us but they didn’t have a reservation—however, they were still given the table that was open. The excuse given was “I didn’t confirm your reservation so I’m going to seat them first.” I thought that the point of a reservation, one in which we had a email stating it was confirmed, was that we would be seated first. That couple wasn’t even on the walk-in table list yet. That should’ve been our first clue about our experience as it was downhill from there.
Secondly, the menu is not organized well. For a sushi place to not have the uncooked am cooked rolls separated is weird. The waiter didn’t know which was which either. The service was nonexistent—we had to get some of our own soy sauce trays, etc during our visit. The ramen menu was also confusing because no one could tell us if the soup bases had spice or not for the vegan/vegetarian side, so one of the ladies in the group had a pretty bland bowl of ramen. The teriyaki veggie bowl was super dry and the sauce it did have was thick like a gravy
I will say that the sushi is amazing, which was the saving grace to our visit and the only reason I rated the food as 3-star. If you’re visiting here, only come for the sushi. Everything else is pretty blah. Not a great first impression.
Logan our waiter was fantastic! But the bartender didn’t say a single word while we waited for our table for at least 10mins after a couple of attempts of us trying to get his attention. There was only 2 other ppl at the bar and he seemed only focus on making cocktails for ppl at their tables.
Our food was great and the sushi roll Doc Ock was massive and delicious.
The food was amazing, however our server was not so great nor inviting. It was a galantines for my friend and I. We asked for recommendations of the wine in which he had no knowledge. I went with my best bet and got the Sauv Blanc. The bartender gave us complimentary sake shots in which saved the night for him. It was overall still a decent experience.
It would have been much better but the wasabi wasn't fresh
Last minute Super Bowl Saturday booking. What a find! Great food and service (thanks Danny!), particularly the sashimi and the spicy tuna. Draft Kirin beer went down very well too. They even brought a slice of Birthday cake for my dad, with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to him.
The sushi was great and fresh.
Great environment, nice people and affordable prices!
It was good food but the majority of their rolls are fried which left us with a stomach ache!
the food was good but the staff members could not get it together. I say plural members. We had a server that had a language barrier, normally I'd applaud his effort but he got most of our order wrong and when another staff member that spoke English came to help I still got the food back. A third member came to help and after 3 attempts and getting the appetizers wrong we finally got it all sorted out. It was frustrating but the thing I'm most upset about was the included 18% tip on the bill. Again usually something that doesn't bother me but with this many mistakes and a carefree attitude about it the food mistakes they could hurt someone with allergies.
We made it to the place right as it opened. The lady quickly seated us and gave us our water and was very nice. When doing the create ramen she gave us a warning of spice levels and boy was she right. The spice levels are ridiculous but food was very delicious. Definitely gonna being more people when I have the chance.
great food and service. Best Curr I ever had. Sushi was fantastic too.
Second time back during our week long business trip. Everyone is friendly and service is fantastic. We sat at the sushi counter both times and enjoyed the atmosphere. Jean Claude made a roll just how I wanted it - spicy tuna roll, crunchy, with spicy mayo and eel sauce. Yum!
My business partner and I walked from the Hilton Atlanta to Budi's Sushi. It was totally worth it! We were greeted with a friendly welcome, provided prompt service and had fresh delicous food that we raved about. We enjoyed sitting at the counter to watch the sushi being made and they gave us some tips on where to go for some sightseeing. They gave us a sample of the rice cake with vanilla ice cream - yum! We will definitely be back before our trip is over.
Omg it was delicious.. First time eating sushi but definitely not the last.
Good food!!! It was trivia night so it was pretty loud and busy.
Terrific food and service
We had dinner at Budi Sushi last Saturday night. Food was great especially the nigri tuna sushi. Miso soup was so tasty as well as seaweed salad..
Good food! But it's hipster sushi. 90% of the rolls have cream cheese and/or fried. Most of it was delicious, it's just not what I look for in a sushi restaurant. It'd be great for a first timer. Overall a good dinner.
A great find in a different area of Atlanta. The waitress and staff were excellent. Food was superb. Nice presentation, fresh and tasty. Not what you'd expect for a sushi restaurant since there's little ethnic designation.
I had a business dinner and the first sushi place where we had a reservation didn’t honor it properly, so we went to the closest sushi place. It was a trivia night and a little bit too noisy for us to converse. However the whole staff worked with us and went out of their way to accommodate us. Great service and good food! I’ll be back!
Our server was really friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the chirashi, which was a bowl of assorted sashimi over rice. When the Chirashi came I could tell the fish wasn't fresh just by looking at it. They were paleish in color and had a very strong odor. I didn't eat the fish and informed the server if I could order a different item. Before I could finish explaining to the server, the chef stormed up and informed me his fish was fresh and I"the customer" must not have much experience with sashimi. I informed the chef I have had sashimi in Japan, and many other countries and states and I've never had it the way he served it. He stormed away. We later received the check with the chirashi still listed. I informed the server I refused to pay for the item because it was not eatened and the dish was very unpleasant. She then told me they do not issue refunds if you dislike a dish. I told her I refused to pay for the item and she finally removed it. I would not recommend this restaurant simply because the chef was very rude, instead of trying to make my experience better he accused me of not being knowledgable about sushi and ultimately insulted me in front of my guests. I will definitely not return if this is the type of service I am expected to receive for disliking a dish.
Fresh sushi and very friendly staff! I really enjoy the experience every time I eat here . The manager also deserves an honorable mention, she’s the reason I’ve continued to eat here. She’s always welcoming and courteous!
