Great food, cool environment, cool location. Would definitely recommend, especially for happy hour!
We came for a return dinner having experienced a great dinner when they first opened. The Happy Hour wine, beer were good. We ordered the Kale Cesar salad and it was good.
I ordered the rigatoni with Bolognese sauce and it was tasty. My husband ordered the Albacore tuna spaghetti and it arrived with the pasta not cooked in places. He sent it back and of course that took about 15 minutes which you would expect. On tasting the spaghetti it appeared watery and tasteless. He decided not to order another main at that point since I was finished my meal. They did offer to bring us a Tiramisu on the house which was delicious and they did remove the spaghetti from the bill. Service was very good.
Dine out was excellent value. Good wine list with a nice range of prices. Some of the food could have been slightly better. The Rice ball appetizer was excellent but the aïoli, rather than tomato sauce, it came in seemed very strange. Both the rigatoni and the risotto required a grinding of fresh pepper and Parmesan, which was not offered. When I added these to my leftovers the next day, the flavour was much improved. Very nice service but our server was quite inexperienced and struggled to open our bottle of wine.
Overall a good experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
As much as I love the Kerrisdale location this is even better. Very nice warm room, great appetizers and pasta. The pizzas are as good or better then the best Vancouver has to offer.
Great service yummy food nice atmosphere, wine by the glass a bit pricy but good
This was our first visit to this restaurant. very fortunate to have a reservation as they were very busy. Our table was ready as we arrived and the dining experience was wonderful
The portions are generous and the food was perfect for a winter's night.
Everything was delicious, even the vegan pizza (and no one in our party was vegetarian). Terrific service.
Man oh man, we were so stoked to try Bufala out. With Nicli Antica around the corner, we figured they’d be bringing their A-Game, but sadly no. From neon arancini dipping sauce to
Happy hour would be a fun thing to do here! Drop in after a shopping afternoon in Edgemont Village. Enjoy a glass of wine and the white bean dip!
First time dining at Bufala with friend. We shared a salad and arancini as starters. Both were excellent. We also shared 2 pastas for a main course and they wee excellent as well. Fabulous wine list which has Italian wines not often found in Metro Vancouver restaurants. We shared a bottle of really good Italian wine. I'll be back for sure.
Outstanding service and delicious food. Highly recommended!! Welcome to the neighbourhood Bufala!
Space is casual and inviting, the staff are eager to please and anticipate your needs.Sharing concept works well along with the food choices.Happy Hour was Great,Service very prompt.Underground parking accessibility was good.Overall a great addition to Edgemont Village.
Nice food, good service, warm environment, and very convenient for parking
Love it! Food and drinks were fabulous. Service was amazing. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Great ambiance but food was mediocre and service also just so-so. Tagliatelle pasta was pretty bland, and dessert menu only had 3 options, 2 of which involved soft serve ice cream. Cocktail list is also surprisingly short.
Both the Rigatoni and the Pappardelle had stingy amounts of protein which left us with a bad impression of the restaurant. Won't be hurrying back anytime soon.
Served like a fast food place, food was poor quality and essentially rushed out of the kitchen. Very disappointingly!
No chicken or pork. Only one meat entree and one lamb entree. Too limited.
Wines were too pricey. Need a few lower priced wines.
Our reservation ws for 7:30 on a Wednesday night and we were surprised to see a packed house. Very family oriented time slot. We were seated right away and attended to I short order. Service was good with drinks arriving quickly and food order taken promptly. We both had th lamb shank which was excellent and served on a bed of mushroom risotto. My husband's risotto was fine but mine was a bot too salty, perhaps it has not bee stirred after salt added. I tasted my husband's and it was not the same. We would glad return for dinner or happy hour again.
Vibrant restaurant! Staff were awesome and so helpful, especially Sonja! Highly recommend! Another great restuarant on the North Shore!!
It was our first time at the restaurant and we went with a group. The food was excellent our waiter was helpful and professional. We will definitely go back.
Great selection of happy hour offerings.
Wonderful service, with great pizza, good beer selection.
This is a relatively new restaurant and I think everyone who is wishing to try something different should experience it. We had a reservation and there seemed to be a bit of staff scurrying around before we were seated. The service was great, our wait person was outstanding. The ambiance is trying to achieve cosy (I would guess) but it has a bit of adjusting to reach that goal. Dark with a curious seating arrangement was our groups' take away on that point. The noise level was decent on the fairly busy evening we were there; various ages managed to converse. The food is served family style so that everyone at the table can taste a variety of foods. The portions of pasta were relatively small, it would be suitable for myself, with my appetite for smaller plates but not for the men at the table. The pasta was tasty, the Ravioli was especially delicious. The pizzas were a better size for sharing and were overall good although the younger adults thought the one was an odd combination. The crust on both pizzas were overdone. I am willing to put this up to starting up and trying to get everything right - growing pains. The cocktails were inventive and very good and the wine list is impressive. The evening was a pleasant one for us. I will be back perhaps for one of the much touted Happy Hours.
Our food was plain and in memorable.
We were four people. Two of us were served first and were finished before the other two meals arrived.
Our server admitted he made a mistake but offered no compensation.
Overall a terrible meal and a terrible experience.
We enjoyed our maiden visit to Bufala. It is warm and inviting. Servers and staff were knowledgeable and engaging and happy to answer questions or offer advice. I would go back.
We were a table of 5. The server warned us that food come out as it is ready and encouraged us to share however two in our group are vegetarian so that was not an option. Our 15 year old daughter order pizza and it arrived after the rest of us finished our meals, she sat through the whole dinner with no food, our vegetarian friends mushroom pizza arrived at the same time as our pasta dishes. Our friends got their salad than their appetizer and their mushroom pizza while our daughters pizza did not arrive until we were all finished. My wife and I ordered a salad and the bolognaise pasta it was delicious however both of us felt the portion was unusually small and both of us were left hungry for more, my wife always has pasta and this was unusual for her to comment on the portion.
Our server was quite efficient and pleasant but made little effort to accommodate our daughter who sat hungry though the whole dinner.
Not sure we will return.
We had dinner at the Chefs table New Years Eve. We were there at 5, so we were able to order some happy hour priced options. The Bill was $100, included 6 glasses of wine, $5 a piece, A Pizza, Pasta Dish with a meatball added, Salad and two appetizers. So outstanding value. The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was excellent. Definitely our new go to Edgemont Restaurant.
Bufala Edgmont certainly ironed out the wrinkles (if there were any) right after opening. This is a pizza and pasta place that immediately goes right near the top of the North Shore list for same in a very short period of operation in Edgemont's newest mixed commercial/residential property . We were there on a busy evening during the holidays and were shown to our table in seconds. Lovely, well-informed server was taking our drink order within a minute or two. Couple of interesting, local craft beers and an impressive list of cocktails (including two non-alcoholic ones ) were nicely described on the menu and came as advertised--delicious. We had an assortment of pizzas, appies and a delicious arugula/lemon salad. Each dish was better than the next. The pizzas in particular were divine with a nice thin crust, tangy sauce and fresh toppings all baked to perfection in an oven which, if not wood-fired, sure added that nice smoky flavour to the pies. Only complaint is a wine list heavy with high-priced offerings when with just a little effort, some more affordable options could (and I suspect will) be offered. Ample covered (and free) parking below the building. This will be a tough place to just walk into after the word gets out. When patio season hits, Bufala's will be jammed.
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. The food and service were great but was a bit close quarters to the next table.
We’ve been here 3 times and each time has been amazing! Food is consistently great, everything is delicious! The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Some reviewers complained about the noise level but I don’t know how that’s the restaurants fault. They aren’t going to ask the guests to keep their voices down LOL. If you are bothered by noise then this vibrant place isn’t for you.
We love this place! Such a great addition to Edgemont!
Far too noisy to hold a conversation. You need noise baffles or something. Also, poor layout — entry too small/ no seats, squishy hallway makes it obstructs to customers who are already dining. Food was good but eventually people will tire of how noisy it is
I've been a couple of times now and I really like the ambiance and the service. The menu is a bit odd though and seems quite limited. Every pizza we have tried has been really heavy and has too much olive oil on top of it. The appies are also a bit limited. Regardless, it's in a great area and its still fun to go there. I might just go for a glass of wine and and bowl of olives in future.
Great addition overall to the neighbourhood. Service here destroys nearby Niccli. Nice wine list compliments the food well.
Too loud, food not good. Like a small Browns or Earls but the food is not nearly as good. I could not believe how loud it was. Niclis’s way better
Fantastic food and service, excellent drinks menu. Possibly the best pizza we've had in a while, and we have pizza regularly!
I was excited to try this place but was promptly disappointed. I made a reservation for 2 and we were placed at a make shift table where all the service comes out. We arrived around 4:15pm and I did not see why we were sat there when other tables for 2 were empty.
Now with food, the Arancini came out cold (funny thing was the table behind us sent theirs back as well). There was clearly an issue with quality control. The waiter agreed with us it was cold and said they would remake it. We never received the reorder. We also ordered the Rigatoni and it was watery. At these prices, I would expect my pasta to have been strained at the very least. I will recommend to anyone and my friends to avoid to this place and just head over to Nicli Antica Pizzeria.
Food was fabulous and ambiance was nice. It was just a little too noisy for conversation at a large table.
