hello. It was our first time,we drove in from kitchener , and we will definitly be back we ate upstairs in the corner table to the far back left , great table love being able to see everything going on in the restaurant. one small suggestion we could feel the cold air from the window perfect temp for us but maybe not for everyone ,a small pashmina on the window sil would be nice and suit the decor. thanks again for everything

Who new this place existed? Thank goodness we found it! Great meal and sharing family style is a lot of fun even though it may seem a little odd at first. They elevate the flavours in every dish! The aroma in the restaurant is outstanding coming from the variety of spices. Pricey yes, but worth it for a special occasion. Parking is covered as well which is a nice plus. Will be back for sure!

I love the ambiance at Byblos (though I had to request to be put in the upstairs section since the downstairs is less romantic looking personally). The server was ok, he could have been more friendly and warm considering it was Vday. The only bad thing was that it took the food over 30 mins to arrive after we had our appetizers so that was kind of a bummer because we kind of lost our appetite at that point. It wasn't that busy for it to take that long but we weren't given an explanation as to what happened. I enjoy the food there quite a lot and love the Geographer drink a lot.

A fascinating place with a very interesting menu, intense flavours and colours, excellent service. Wine menu on pricey side but good selection of Canadian, Lebanese and European wines.

Had an AMAZING experience at Byblos tonight, after attending the Opera at the Four Seasons. We order Spanish Octopus, Lamb Rack, Brussels Sprouts and Loukamades for dessert. Perfect amount of food for two that hits the spot. Brussels Sprout come with haloumi (cheese) and was DIVINE....next time I’m getting two servings. Lamb rack was tender and flavourful, cooked medium rare.

Had wine and cocktails. Really love the Nightingale Sour - beautiful glass with edible flowers. The gentleman serving our food with the “man bun” was SO FRIENDLY and made our night. Overall service was great.


Only downside: there was an odour when we came in...kinda musty smelling but it went away as more people came into the space.

6 of us had dinner at Byblos on a Saturday evening. Service was pretty great although we didn’t appreciate being served our bill before requesting it. We are 3 couples who hadn’t seen each other in a while so perhaps the waitress was frustrated with us wanting to take our time. The food was excellent, everything we ate was absolutely delicious! Both myself and a friend enjoyed the signature rose cocktail but found $18 too steep for a drink that was mostly ice and a few sips at the bottom! We were seated right at the front of the restaurant by the door which was fine but feel the ambiance was definitely better further inside the main part of the restaurant.

We sat next to a very loud table but the insights from the server and the quality of food were both very much appreciated. They were also sensitive to the fact we had another commitment and time constraints so everything was managed with no panic leaving us adeaute time to make the next stop.

It was our second time there and we were just as blown away as the first time. It’s a little more pricey than we normally go out for, but the quality, service, exquisite tastes, and abundant health are worth it for us on special occasions. We have now sat in both the downstairs and upstairs. (This time was upstairs and we didn’t even know it existed). The ambience is more romantic upstairs but the service and food are exactly the same. It’s just a bit more squishy downstairs. We will be back for sure!!!! It’s our new favorite!

Our server was excellent however, there were a couple of mixups in the kitchen that had us waiting a very long time for our food. This was the first time I experienced this at Byblos so I’ll chalk it up to an off-night

Overall a good experience but did not meet expectations. Even though we had an 845 reservation we weren’t seated and had our order taken until 930. Also waiting in the hallway to the washroom is awkward. Our server was unable to be attentive or offer insights to the menu. It was obvious he was slammed with too many tables. We brought a client for an investment presentation and don’t feel we ‘wowed’ them as intended. Will likely use another high end restaurant next time.

The atmosphere at Byblos is lively and relaxed, perfect for a night out in good company with food that is tasty and rich in flavours. The only less-impressive aspect about the restaurant is the service. The last time I was there, the waitress was pushy and tried one too many times to change our wine selection in favour of a more expensive bottle. Granted, it is part of the job to upsell, however, there is a difference in providing a recommendation and trying 3+ times to tell us that we should opt for this expensive bottle with no real reason as to why we should make that switch. No other complaints about her service until the end when she unceremoniously shoved all of our coats onto a chair after we paid our bill even though we hadn't asked for them and were still finishing our drinks. After sensing our annoyance, she comes back to the table to tell us that it's policy to bring our coats after paying even though the table next to us had paid and was just chatting away. Those of us at the table who've been to Byblos have never had that happen before. There was no line up and even if there had been, she could have politely informed us of another reservation and we'd have happily left instead of forcefully dropping our coats into a chair. For the amount I'm paying for dinner, I don't expect to have my coat practically thrown at me to get out the door. Service is something I'll think twice about before visiting Byblos again, which is a shame as the food is really quite delicious.

My fiance and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a few years but never made a booking early enough to secure a table. After a long wait and so many good stories from our friends, we visited Byblos for my fiance's birthday dinner and it was very underwhelming to say the least. Before I even get to the foods, the service was very disappointing; we were rushed throughout and ended up staying only an hour, from when we got seated to when we left the restaurant. We weren't too keen on trying desserts after tasting the mains, but they didn't even offer us the desserts and left a check after asking us a few times if we were done eating. Onto the foods, we ordered roasted red beets, turkish manti dumplings, black truffle pide, roasted lamb shoulder for two, and crispy hand rolled couscous. The beets and dumplings were probably the best out of all we ordered, although still pretty average. The pide was okay, tasted like exactly what we expected from a truffle flatbread, although pretty small and doughy. The lamb main was the most disappointing dish, especially after we were told it was their most popular item on the menu. The braised lamb tasted very dry and salty and tasted worse than the shawarma wrap you can get for less than $10 from Paramount - no kidding. The couscous was the worst dish and I didn't even know couscous could taste so bad. The "crispy" couscous was hard to chew and the collard greens inside were incredibly salty. All in all, I would not go back and would discourage anyone from visiting, over-priced for the quality and quantity they offer.

The food was amazing. We had the truffle pide, the dumplings, the cod and the Brussels sprouts. By far some of the best desserts that I have ever had. Great meal.

Nuestra primera noche en Toronto y Canadá ( a -20 grados) nos sorprende este original y cool restaurante , catalogado como el 2do mejor restaurante de la ciudad es toda una sorpresa , al llegar entiendes que el Local valora mas el servicio y la comida que inversiones estratosféricas y vacías en la decoración, la verdad y la magia están en la cocina y aquí se lo toman muy en serio.

Byblos es una propuesta ecléctica de cocina fusión Magrebí y Mediterránea servida de una forma casual y divertida con ingredientes locales de primera calidad y con el toque Francocanadiense del chef ;

El servicio es siempre sonriente y aunque casual nunca es despreocupado,
por el contrario manejan con maestría un piso lleno de comensales y han orquestado muy bien el servicio de cocina con el de bebidas ,

Nuestra velada fué una deliciosa y PERFUMADA experiencia de sabores y texturas fuera de lo común pero bien acertadas ;

Aceitunas Kalamata en una marinada Maltés, un starter muy cool con explosión en boca de las especias y saborea por venir ;

Alcachofas baby en tempura crujiente y un DIVINO YOGURT CASERO
Rock Cornish rostizado sobre un guisado de lentejas bellamente perfumadas en especias exóticas
Vino fresco e interesante de NIAGARA acompañan como regla, el pairing es sensacional porque la jovial acidez y toda la frutalidad de los vinos blancos sensacionales De Ontario son una combinación y pareja perfecta para los sabores especiados y perfumados de la cocina de Byblos,

El postre es una locura calórica de pequeños buñuelos bañados en un sirope ligero y helado de pistache con muchas flores Y UN

Cosas deliciosas pasan en Toronto y no es precisamente de cocina FrancoCanadiense

Wonderful service - I can’t remember our Servers name but he was absolutely lovely. It was our first Byblos experience and his recommendations were fantastic. The food was unreal... lovely flavor combinations and presentations. The cold tea service for 2 (punch) was to die for!!! Would go back in a heartbeat! Have already recommended it to several friends!
