A wonderful brunch experience with a colleague & friend. The ambience was outstanding and the food even better. We both enjoyed the eggs benedict special, me with the home fries and her with a green salad....delicious!! Have a specialty coffee and pastry to boot and indulge!!

Overall we were very happy with our experience at Cafe Lunette. Our waiter was great; the timing of the food delivery to our table was perfect; although it was busy we were not rushed and the food quality was all we could have asked for. I was particularly impressed with our wait staff at our table. Our main waiter was informed, attentive but not intrusive, and made our guest of honor feel special on her birthday. The criticism I have is about our table location. We were located at the table which borders on the main aisle between the kitchen service area/washroom access and the dining area. For the entire time we were seated the two people seated on the wall side of the table have a never ending view of the disarray in the kitchen wash area/floor washing buckets. A visual screening of the disarray in that area would be an absolute improvement. Some type of screen positioned out from the door so it does not impede access for the servers. We definitely enjoyed the evening and the food but would not sit at that table again.

I had the Baked cCamembert and Beef Tartare - both were phenomenol. Will be back VERY soon (probably for the same meal LOL). For those with Celiac Disease and other allergies, they are very accomodating. I called before to do the usual hammering of questions re: prep and ingredients etc. You know when you get that gut feeling they are BSing you? THERE WAS NONE OF THAT. After their honest responses i felt completely at ease from start to finish - my new favorite restaurant. No other words to say.

First stop of my Halifax food adventure, a French bistro. • When in Halifax, do what the French would do… Eat some escargots and bœuf bourguignon. • Beautiful restaurant with great decor. Service was attentive and friendly. The cocktail (Spritz à Lunette) was light and refreshing. Perfect for a warm Summer evening. The escargots were nice but I had better. The boeuf bourguignon on the other hand was delicious. The beef cheek was decadent and fork tender. The aligot potatoes were rich, creamy and stretchy while the haricots verts were perfectly cooked. Overall very satisfied.

Delicious food but rather expensive! Particularly the tomato salad, delicious but small with large price for the scantiness. But certainly Cafe Lunette is a favourite of mine and I return often and recommend it to friends.

Great atmosphere. Our waiter, Adam was very knowledgeable about the food and drink listings. I had a spritzer which was very refreshing. I started with a Caesar salad. Good, pretty standard but with some fresh kale mixed in with the romaine. My husband had the smoked salmon appetizer and enjoyed it. I couldn’t resist the ratatouille since I seldom see it on a menu. Highly recommend it! My husband had the beef bourguignon and loved it. The beef was tender and delicious. For dessert, opera cake for me, nothing special. My husband enjoyed the lemon tart. De-caf espresso hit the spot. Would love to go back if I ever get back to Halifax!

Was not an overly friendly atmosphere, brunch was so so . Pork belly besides all the fat (which I new it would be) the meat part was hard and dry, home fries were soggy, toast was so tough you could hardly chew it! We did not complain or bring it to the server’s attention. There are a lot of restaurants in the HRM, so probably a good thing to up your game. Pretty expensive for a brunch too by the way. :(:(

Café Lunette is always a beautiful dining experience. The food is portioned and plated well. The open kitchen allows you to see all the dishes and helps with the ordering process. It’s hard to decide what to eat as everything in the menu looks so good. The drinks are well balanced and there is a great wine selection. I highly recommend a visit for every occasion. The team are well trained and always provide a fantastic service.

Broken record here: Another sensational dinner at Cafe Lunette. Time and time again we are nothing but exceptionally impressed by the food, service, and atmosphere. Our serve Adam was lovely, with great knowledge of the menu items. We also had a milestone moment: my crustacean-phobic hubby agreed to try my scallops….AND HE LIKED IT!!! Surely a testament to the brilliance of Chef Vanessa. Appetizers and mains were superb. But the dessert. Ohhhhhh the dessert. Exquisite doesn’t begin to describe the tarte tropezienne. Literally made me smile uncontrollably. Can’t wait to come back…..tonight!!!

Our waiter was so kind and helpful. She checked in us every once in a while just to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. There was not much noise and the decor was absolutely beautiful. The food was outstanding and it was definitely worth the price!

Our server, with long dark hair was so gracious and lovely. The decor is GORGEOUS. The food is DELICIOUS. They accommodated my request to not sit by the kitchen and gave us a lovely table at the front. I LOVE this place!

1. Jeremy, our server, was excellent. 2. The tomato+basil salad was exceptionally wonderful. 3. The “cheese soufflé” was not a soufflé, it was a pair of savory bread puddings (2x2x2”) with nuts and seeds. Good, but absolutely not a soufflé by any standard. 4. The “beef cheek bourguignon” was much more a short ribs with wine sauce. Good, but not at all as expected. 5. The “opera cake” was excellent, almost beyond belief. They need help with definitions and consistency.

From our experience, this is a great restaurant for cocktails and light fare. The dinner options are less inspired. Under seasoned and undercooked food typified our main entrees. The salads were bland. The frites while tasty, but were far from crisp. Inside, the place is noisy - sound reverberates. It was hard to hear the conversation at our table. If the weather permits, highly recommend the patio for some fun cocktails and charcuterie.

I felt pressured to order quick and leave quickly as well, a live bad arrived and we needed to leave to make room for them, ceiling dripping and pieces of it falling off near us out during our dinner. Large group very loud beside us hard to maintain a conversation. It was my second time there and had bad experiences both times, came yesterday to give it a chance, won’t be returning.

The food was good. But there was a bachelorette party next to us. It was extremely noisy and hard to hold a conversation. It took a while for the waiter to take our order but after that service was excellent. We tried the pre fix menu and enjoyed it. Very good value
