Great concept. Food execution lacking & therefore not good value. For prices charged, food execution should have wow factor. One item ordered, it was like the person who prepared it didn’t understand the recipe.

Pleasant atmosphere. We didn’t feel rushed. Escargot was delicious was the bourguignon. Our server, Olivia highly recommended the crème brûlée with the sauterne which was the highlight. Thank you, Olivia

Food is always amazing here, and the staff are very friendly. Restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere! The only area of improvement would be the noise level; I did find myself having to raise my voice at times, so much so that I felt like I was yelling. That being said there were a few tables with large parties. Will definitely be back :)

Food pretty good but some disappointments. We were 15 minutes late (5:30 versus 5:15) due to bridge construction - we called ahead to advise them. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, nor did it ever get busy. The reception at the door was ice cold - upset we're late? I don't know. There was hardly a word spoken as we were showed to our table. Dinner Menu, Normande Specialty Menu, Happy Hour Menu and Drink Menu/Wine List provided. When I made the reservation 10 days previous, happy hour prices on oysters were advertised; our entire group was looking forward to that. Our waiter told us the requirements of having to buy a full price bottle of wine to qualify for the happy hour oysters (no problem), and we ordered 24 "a buck a shuck" we were told. After a very long wait we were advised the oyster part of the happy hour menu is no longer available as of yesterday. Hmmm. Why the menu then? The food experience was for the most part pretty good. A few oysters good- now at $4.00 per, steak tartare good, Cocquilles St-Jacques very good, Poulet a la Normande very good, Chicken Corden Bleu good. The Seared Trout Amandine was over salted for sure. I will say that the experience at the door, and the subsequent loss of the oyster anticipation soured the experience. For that reason my opinion on the dining experience is low, but I will say the food was for the most part very good.

The restaurant’s website states that they have a dress code of “business casual”. We went dressed appropriately for a higher end restaurant, only to find some diners in hoodies and blue jeans. Even some servers were wearing blue jeans. Obviously the restaurant does not enforce the standards that it advertises. We waited 30 minutes after being seated before a waitress took our drink order. Waitress was equally slow in meeting our needs between courses. My wife had the foie gras appetizer which was very good, as it should be for $28. I had the French onion soup ($19) which was good. For the mains, I had the 6 oz steak/frites. For $58 you would expect some flavour, but, the meat was tasteless. So was my wife’s beef bourguignon ($44). Our wines were equally disappointing. Overall, very disappointing and definitely overpriced for the quality of the food and service.

The food was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful. We had an 8:15 reservation. We were seated and then no one spoke to us for 45 minutes. Our server did apologize at the end of our meal as well as void the cost of my husbands beer & sparkling water but it was very frustrating to sit there for 45 minutes without even being acknowledged as they continuously walked past us.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Lunette, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The ambiance is warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a cozy and romantic meal. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes that cater to different tastes and dietary preferences. From the moment I took the first bite of my meal, it was evident that the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully selected. The flavors were rich, and each dish was expertly crafted. Highly recommend the Normandy Menu if you are able to go this month!

The food and atmosphere are amazing! Prices make sense for the quality. Servers are a bit more on the reserved side, so they will get you what you need, make sure your water is topped up, but they leave you be which is nice.

This was our first time at Café Lunette and won’t be our last. We were about 20 minutes early (we had a reservation) and they had a table of two ready so we were seated quickly. The ambiance of this café is so cute. French style café. The service is excellent, the waiters were around our table several time refilling our coffee and ensuring everything was good. I had the eggs bennic which was amazing. The eggs and bacon was over hasbrown potatoes vs bread, that was a great twist. My mom had the crock madame which was also good. Only down side i would say is that the salad that came with my eggs benny wasn’t anything special. But other than that everything was amazing. At the counter there was some patries you could grab to go - we didn’t as we were too full from the meal, but they looked great just like they would in France.

The food was not nearly as good as last time we were there. The pork belly was underdone. They did re cook it but we got it at end of our meal. A little plate of pork belly. The eggs weren’t done to order. Not good value. I don’t mind paying for an amazing meal but it was mediocre for high price

Cafe Lunette never fails to deliver! The Prix Fixe menu was sublime; literally dreamt about the Tarte au Camembert last night. Our server, Aldo, was fantastic. He was super friendly and attentive the entire evening. Every time my husband and I think about trying a new restaurant, we end up making a reservation at Cafe Lunette. Ya can’t top perfection.

We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we got the Normandy menu which has delish-along with an order of snails (a family favourite). The highlight was the vanilla and pomme crepes galette!

Nice reception, pleasant ambience except stack of high chairs stuffed in a corner by the window took away from the sense of dining room. Server was efficient but somewhat rushed even with 3/4 capacity. We share the Caesar salad and french onion soup. The salad sorry to say I had to send back a lot of romaine was brown and end pieces. The replacement was better but still not very tasty. The soup was hot and broth was very savoury, however cheese was excessive and difficult to eat. The soup was mostly croutons, maybe six spoons on broth. Lemon tarte was a nice portion and lemon cream was tart. Coffee was the item that really offered the French taste that I remember from trips to Paris, Chartres, and Normandy. Kitchen needs to do better.

One of my favourite restaurants. The service, food and atmosphere are always the very best. I hold meetings, dine with family, and meet friends there and I’ve never been anything but 100% satisfied. It’s at the top of my recommended list for Halifax.

My wife and I love coming here, even if it was the second time we’ve eaten at Cafe Lunette. The food is exquisite and delicious. My wife may not like peanut butter, though was surprised that the peanut butter parfait complimented the foie gras amazingly well. Our server was amazing. Very attentive, checking in to make sure everything tasted well and making sure our drinks were never empty. I always recommend Café Lunette whenever I can!

Not worth the price, had better french elsewhere. The restaurant was completely empty and we could only reserve for 515 and it stayed empty.

We had a lovely brunch despite having a very disappointing evening meal on a Tuesday a few weeks back. Decided to give it another chance and it was back up to its normal self. We put it down to likely the regular chefs night off?

We ordered the tofu scramble and found it somewhat runny. Wish there was Dijon mustard offered. Coffee was tepid and weak, very disappointing. Service, excellent.

This has been my 5 th or 6 th time here and this lunch proved to be a most disappointing experience. This was because there was so much noise that it was difficult to have a conversation; seemed to be short of staff so meals took longer to make it to the table;there seemed to be an unwillingness to modify menu items to accommodate an allergy. Won’t be in a hurry to return…there are so many other places to choose from…my nicose salad was delicious but it’s doesn’t overcome the other issues we encountered.

Unfortunately 4/6 of our meals were served cold (felt as if the meals were pre made and sitting in a fridge then tried to be reheated). They remade the cold meals but it meant for a very disjointed meal. Many mix ups as well with our coffee orders.
