Food was good and we liked the ambiance, but the pacing and service level was poor. Confusion among the waiters, drinks took a long time, entrees came before the appetizers, the bread came late and then we received a second portion by mistake, the appetizers came with one missing and then we waited a while to get our entrees after that. It almost became funny after a while. I hope they figure out their issues as it is a beautiful place with good potential.
We knew the food would be pricey but was hoping that it would actually be worth it.
Excellent chef, Tommy, Najib, host team, runners, etc.
Food was tremendous as always. Particularly the smoked salmon—a new go to. Duck confit always the best.
Went for bunch.
Waiter was clueless about the menu and food.
He seemed overwhelmed and not interested in taking our order.
My order was wrong - no attempt to replace or get another dish.
Beautiful location, Comically horrible service, B- food.
Great food, great service, overall an outstanding dining experience.
Had Brunch here on a Sunday. The restaurant is lovely. The food was excellent We couldn’t finish it all even though we wanted to. Service is good - only reason for 4 stars is that we had to wave someone down to get a coffee refill. Otherwise would’ve been 5 stars.
Dining in a beautiful, chandeliered, turn of the century bank building is a great start!
Service is excellent so are the hamburger and squash custard and expresso martini.
Down stairs ,nears the rest rooms , is the biggest gumball machine on the planet with free tokens.
This is our 4th visit with many more to come.
Elegant and comfortable design, ambiance and service. Service was excellent - attentive, responsive and consistent. We even got a second glass of wine on the house. Food also very good. Lemon and sesame broccoli salad was especially delicious, innovative and memorable. The steak frites was tasty, but the chewiness of the meat was very disappointing and resulted in reducing the overall rating to 4 instead of 5.
Very nice place - cool/upscale decor. Better music - like classic jazz - would elevate the experience. Surprised when they charged for an iced tea refill - that needs to change. But good food and service. There outdoor cabanas are the best I’ve seen.
Ate outside. Great outdoor area on the street. Lunch menu. Salad and omelette for us. Very good!
I really have fallen in love with Cafe Riggs. My first experience was in June for a friends birthday and I’ve since been back for brunch and dinner. Love the ambiance, the staff is welcoming and always has great recommendations. The food is impeccable I’ve tried the majority of the entrees and there’s not one I wouldn’t recommend.
Beautiful and flavorful food, amazing service in a gorgeous setting. We loved every minute and will definitely be back. The crab salad and halibut were special standouts, as well as the best Manhatten I've ever had.
We waited almost an hour and a half for luke warm, overpriced food. Extremely disappointing.
This was an amazing find before attending an event at the arena. The food was delicious, service impeccable, excellent recommendations for wine pairings. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back!
Marvelous in every way. Crab cocktail is still the best in town. Excellent omelette entree with delicious arugula salad accompanying it. Najid is the best!
Service was awful. There were only 3 tables of people for breakfast—our table was first seated. Food was delicious; beautiful space. Server seemed annoyed by all requests—butter and jam for the toast (you want butter, jam? You want both?!?! And later—no jam except grape jelly); no sugar (you want sugar for your coffee?!?! There’s no sugar…ok, maybe 1 or 2 packets—I will have to look for them…you’ll have to wait); another cup of decaf (you want another cup?!?! Decaf?!?!). We gave up waiting for her to take our payment after having the cards in plain sight on the table for 15-20 minutes, and went to the hostess stand (unmanned), when she finally came up to us to ask if we wanted to pay/leave. I know times are tough and supply chains are a mess but this was a poor service experience.
Amazing service, great brunch and coffee! Definitely recommends!
Good ambiance, drinks a bit too sweet, fish was cooked in a soupy versus crispy buttery way. Manager was nice enough to comp our meal.
Excellent food and service!
Andrea and the team were terrific as always. Great crab appetizer and omelette.
Just perfect. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. A favorite.
Food was good, but music was very loud for a restaurant. I felt I was in a disco club back home in Europe.
First impressions: hostess was very welcoming and kind, dining room was absolutely gorgeous, the music and lighting created a lively, yet classy ambience.
Our server, Tommy, was nice and knowledgeable, but disappointingly the service was slow. It wasn’t a crowed night but at the time we were seated, most tables on the dining room side were occupied and the bar was only about a fourth full, but I only recall seeing one other server tending to tables. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed?
Loved our drinks! Mostly. The French 75 was more tart than I remember. The last place I ordered a French 75 was at The Smith during brunch and I loved it there. But the tequila cocktail (can’t remember the name but it’s the only one on the menu) and the espresso martini were delicious.
Our food was good. We really wanted to try the Steak Frites and the Duck Confit but after seeing unappetizing guest photos of the Steak Frites and the fact that we could find a single photo of their Duck Confit on the entire internet, we decided against it. Of the four items we ordered, the mussels were the best - in fact, I’d argue that they’re the best I ever had. The broth was garlicky and flavorful, so much so that I found myself sipping the broth from the shell once the mussels were gone. Guess I should’ve asked for a baguette or crostini? 🙃 We also ordered oysters, grilled octopus, and tagliatelle. They were all good but none of which we were impressed by - maybe we’re harsh critics.
After reading reviews and looking at photos, my girlfriend I both agreed that we’d come back for brunch! The menu was much more appealing than it was for dinner.
Great vibe. Friendly service.
The food and service were average. It was nothing special. But the ambiance was great!
Terrific in every way. Outstanding effort led by Victoria and her team.
Najid is a gem. The chef is great, you can’t go wrong with their oysters and the duck confit. Bread is also very good.
Kudos to all the runners, Cafe Riggs had a well oiled team!
Victoria was incredible. The entire experience.
We visited on the fourth of July for dinner. Our reservation was at 7:30p. The place was pretty empty. However, we had to give a 100.00 guarantee that we would show up. We got a lovely table outside. The service was good but on the slow side. The menu is limited; most have a very French influence. We order cucumber caviar dip. It was perfect. We also had steak friet The flavor was great, but the meat was tough. The wine list was extensive. Anyone could find a delicious choice. Dessert Saint Honore was unbelievably good. At 8:30p, they started packing up around us to close. I understood the kitchen closed at 9 p.m., and they were ready to leave, but it made me uncomfortable so much, so I didn't even finish my last glass of wine. The prices were ok, but $33 for a tough cut of meat was annoying. We will try again but for brunch, not dinner.
Great food, drinks and ambiance! Also the decor is fabulous!
Excellent as always. Terrific service, food was great.
Great hostess, Victor was very good.
Oysters are always excellent and had the omelette for the first time. Omelette was very good, the accompanying salad was less so. The hot peppers were too much for me.
All in all however, extremely pleasant evening at Cafe Riggs.
What a nice surprise to find Cafe Riggs! We sat outside in a semi-private booth that allowed for privacy; it was quiet enough we could hear each other. The food was delicious and serving sizes were ample. A brief mention of my friend's birthday that we were celebrating led to an amazing dessert-- a banana bread pudding that was swimming in a healthy amount of warm bourbon (I think). I'll be back!
They’ve created a beautiful outdoor setup and were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The roast chicken was a treat.
Excellent as always! The new crab appetizer is outstanding!
Najid is phenomenal!
Everything was great!!!
Food wasn’t all that great but the service was good!
The service and food were just delightful. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about pairings. I cannot wait to return!
What a find. Gorgeous interior. Can’t wait for rooftop to open
Beautiful dining room with excellent service
Service was outstanding, by far the best service I’ve had anywhere during Covid. The food was great, especially loved their hash browns. Can’t wait to go back!
