Chef Mural Manjunath has received four consecutive Michelin stars for his modern take on Indian cuisine. My husband and I ate here for the first time today. We liked the non-alcoholic specialty drinks we ordered as they were refreshing. The beef short ribs, biryani, naan, and paneer were decent and the three dishes that we ordered had enough for the both of us plus another meal or two. The portions are served family style and plentiful. I do have a food allergy to wheat and quickly learned in talking to the manager? owner? a guy who seemed to have some authority that the codes on their menu aren't accurate as things contained wheat that didn't indicate so even though they have a "contains wheat/rye/barley" icon on the menu. And also for someone working in the food service industry, he didn't understand that AP flour is made with wheat...which is a bit concerning. But that said, he was super friendly and engaging and did his best to be helpful to assist me in avoiding wheat once we discussed what was wheat and what wasn't. We loved the space we ate in. The colors are grey and soothing. We were given the booth in the window in the front and it was very private. The atmosphere was lovely and serene in this restaurant.

Dinner tonight at Cali Chili was a wonderful experience! The appetizers (pani puri poppers, cauliflower fritters, and chicken dumplings) were delicious. The Dum biryani and Cali Chili chicken pot pie were also amazing, but the eggplant lasagna stole the show! It was incredible, especially when we ate it with the garlic and chive naan dipped n the sauce. Plus, they have a full bar and made a very respectable Bee's Knees, which was the cherry on top of a fantastic evening!

CalChili is a small restaurant within walking distance from home. It is a gem. The food is delicious. It is not a quick order, quick serve place. My husband’s entree was served and finished before mine arrived. But, the food was excellent and the staff friendly so it evens out.

I was not impressed, despite the beautiful ambiance. While the food was tasty and beautifully presented, it wasn’t worth it. Portions are small and overpriced. You’re paying for presentation. The waiter recommend Pani Puri Poppers were a joke. Mini chicken pastries were delivered on top of shot glass, filled with flavored juices (mango, coconut & cilantro/lime). As instructed, we poured the juices into the pastries & ate them in 1 bite. The juices were salty and completely overpowered the pasties. It’s really nothing more than mediocre juice shots mislabeled as an appetizer. The popular Chicken Pot Pie is just just a small bowl of ordinary Butter Chicken topped by puff pastry dough. We are foodies and expected more from this Michelin Starred restaurant.

Amazing service. I may have had one of the best filet mignon in my life at CaliChilli. Our appetizer was delicious and whimsical. I look forward to trying more menu items.
