Camden Spit & Larder, a modern London-inspired eatery, in Downtown Sacramento on Capitol Mall. Chef Oliver Ridgeway showcases the pristine ingredients of the surrounding region with its bold design, bustling bar scene, and prime private dining facilities. Camden is comfortable yet elevated. We are located just a few blocks from the Capitol and Convention Center and just steps from the Golden 1 Center. This is the perfect place to dine pre-show or concert. Camden S&L was a restaurant 'Recognized by Michelin' in 2021, 2022, & 2023.

Had family visiting for Davis Graduation weekend and tried to stay in close proximity to Golden One. After some research, made decision to visit Spit and Larder as it was unique in its offering. Showed up a bit early hoping to be able to get seated as we had just had an exhausting long day from graduation ceremony. After a bit of a wait, we were seated and our waitress, Brooke, came around promptly and introduced herself and gathered our drink orders while she put our celebratory champagne on ice. She explained specials for the day and took our appetizer orders which came out promptly. Appetizers were preceded by the tasty popovers which were a welcome change from usual bread offerings at most restaurants. We enjoyed the open kitchen concept and observing the cooks/chef apply their ware. All of our food came promptly and was well timed for each course. Food was ideal temperature and tasty and there were no complaints from our party. We sampled much of the menu for variety and universally the popover (Yorkshire Pudding), sausage roll with English mustard and curry ketchup, pasta, salmon, lamb shank, and meat pie were a hit. We were much too satiated to attempt dessert at this point. Overall we had a great experience with fantastic service and food and plan to return again if we are in the area. ...the only detractor was when we attempted calling to request an earlier seating, we were informed there was no availability only to arrive a little early to a dining room that was not nearly at capacity with many open tables; a bit distasteful to start our meal.

Great service and food. Second year celebrating a birthday. Cute touch… they listed the birthday girl on the menus.

One of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento. Food is excellent. Stephanie is our favorite server. Always accommodates my friend’s dietary restrictions. Highly recommended.

This is one of our new favorite restaurants. We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. They gave us complimentary glasses of sparkling wine and ‘Happy Anniversary’ menus. The atmosphere is upscale without being stuffy. The music and lighting were at just the right level. The service was friendly and the food was amazing. They served pop overs with butter infused with sea salt and olive oil to start. The ginger carrot soup of the day was delicious. We both enjoyed our dinners: the pappardelle pasta and scallops with gnocchi. I find most restaurants tend to under or over cook their scallops, but the ones I had were just right. The wine was great (nice full bodied, dry cab) and the desserts were wonderful. We will be back!

I really enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant recently. The service was really good. Everyone is eager to make sure you have a great night. We had trouble finding the right wine and someone was super helpful in assisting us. Our food was good but not over the top great. I had the pasta special and added chicken. I didn’t realize by adding the chicken it would be a chicken breast on the side of the pasta. Had I known that I probably would’ve skipped adding the chicken. My husband said his steak was OK but a little dry and he didn’t care for the sauce. However, the kindness, professionalism and fun energy of the staff more than made up for it. The toffee desert was amazing. I highly recommend that. We will definitely be back.

Excellent quality, portions & creative cuisine! Service was attentive and efficient. We had the special appetizer of homemade tagliatelle with lemon, olive & some other savory seasoning- so fresh & tasty. I'm not a huge burrata fan but The peach & burrata with mint & fruit preserve was delicious- and like no other burrata! The duck was delicious and showed variety in flavors and texture with two preparations. The scallops were excellent too although the sauce lacked some flavor but the scallops were so perfect I didn't mind. Wine was good and at good price although I was a little disappointed by the minimal selection of mid-range bottles. We drink Silver Oak cabs and mark up at restos vary but $205 for a bottle is silly for the brand. Overall a lovely experience!

Simply put - our favorite restaurant in town. From top to bottom the team is welcoming and could not be more accommodating to ensuring their guests have a great experience. This is matched by great tasting food. We will - undoubtedly - be back!
