   We have been to Cantina Gia a few times and this time it was unusually noisy and overwhelming. We went for brunch and the music seemed much louder than usual for the morning, which resulted in the people around us talking loudly. We found we had to raise our voices to communicate. It had a big impact on our enjoyment of brunch and we're not sure that we would choose to return. The food was better than last time when we had undercooked crespelles, but we had to ask for clean cutlery as one of us was given a fork that hadn't been cleaned by the dishwasher, yet was rolled up in a napkin, clearly without being inspected. The server didn't check in often and we ran out of water twice (we had much smaller cups that the tables next to us) and just didn't bother flagging someone down the second time. Overall, not a fantastic experience for a nearly $100 brunch for two.

   The tables were exceedingly close so be prepared, but the overly loud music and background noise muffled other people's conversations. The service was very attentive. I ordered the shrimp dish and did not know the shrimp would be charred -- was not attractive to the taste buds.

   Waitresses don’t know how to carry plates. Their fingers are not supposed to be inside the plates, it’s disgusting. Music is not Italian, I don’t want to listen to rap while eating focaccia. No personal space, hard to breathe, you can hear what other people are talking about because tables are ridiculously close to each other. Food was 2,5/5 and it’s for focaccia. The interior is nice but it doesn’t compensate the fact that everything else is a disaster. Wouldn’t come back and wouldn’t recommend.

    I really wanted to like this place but honestly it was the worst carbonara I ever had. And while I am Italian I do enjoy all the interpretations of Italian food. This carbonara was way too thick of a sauce and hardly any flavour. There was also almost a half pound of butter on the mortadella toast. You had to take it off to make it edible. Hopefully the rest of the food is better as it is a really pretty place and the service was good.

    Overall amazing restuarant and will always keep coming back, but the attitude of our server last night was incredibly off-putting. Was clear she didn't want to be there and wanted us out. They eye-rolling and pushing us out really changes the whole vibe of the evening!

    Staff is friendly but don’t hover. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Tables are a little close together but the diners were respectful and the noise was low. Food is excellent and the appetizers are quite substantial, so bring an appetite if you want a starter and a main. Price is very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

    Cantina Gia was recommended to me by a friend. I was very much looking forward to the experience., I understand that Using antique plates is a great reuse idea, but my plate had a chip in it which with China, can carry bacteria. I asked for a new plate. I ordered Caesar salad had to send it back because there was sand in it. The lettuce was not washed properly at all. I had grit in my teeth!!. Then I ordered carbonara. It was very tasty, but there was only three small chunks of bacon in my entire bowl. My friends enjoyed their meal very much. Needless to say, I was disappointed with my meal. I’m not sure that I would go back. There were no non-alcoholic beverages, available i.e. dealcoholized, wine or Beer. I don’t drink alcohol.

    The calamari was perfect. The lamb ragu on papardelle was also very good. The carbonara however was disappointing. It was overly creamy and saucy for a carbonara, made the dish too rich. And didn’t have much guanciale.

    Cantina Gia does not disappoint. This was my second visit and everything was delicious!! The carbonara was out of this world! I loved the little details of the Caesar salad, such as fried capers and rich cubes of pancetta. Lovely service too. Also, the prices are very reasonable. 5 stars!!!
