We enjoyed our dinner, the food was very good. Service was a little slow at some points but it appeared that servers were working tables in multiple rooms so they couldn't always keep an eye on their tables in the room where we were sitting. We definitely plan to return for dinner again.

Terrible service! We sat down before another couple and the server took their drink order first and ignored us. We tried to make eye contact

The food was great! The service was slow because they were short staffed in the kitchen, but the quality of the food was not compromised.

We’ve had very few bad dining experiences in the area and this is testament to the many fine restaurants in the area, and then there was having dinner at the Capital Ale House with the food quality of fast food but served at a pace of drying cement, and not the quick drying kind, on top of this, you have service that reminds you of going to the DMV, except the employees at the DMV are nicer and not condescending

Sorry to say that our food was just OK. Service was excellent, but the schnitzel was severely overdone…very dry and difficult to chew. Sandwiches were just OK. Nothing special except the service, which was great. I’m sorry this is negative given the struggles restaurants are facing currently, but I thought management would like to know.

Food was average, a consistent performance over several visits. Server was outstanding but the hostess was unprofessional, unwelcoming, disheveled and seemed as though she could care less about her effort.

First time visit to Capital Ale House. Keith greeted us as we entered and immediately found our reservation and worked with us to find a quiet spot to enjoy our dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. Karen K was our server and she did a phenomenal job of helping us with our beer selection and her knowledge of the food menu was extremely helpful!

Capital Ale House in Fairfax served yummy food to me and my family last night. It is located where the old Hard Times cafe was located. Staff were polite and patient and food tasted great! Huge beer menu and varied menu. We will go again soon!
