   I don’t understand the appeal of this place. It was so dark I couldn’t even read the menu. The menu had about 8 items to pick from as far as entree are concerned. Very limited. Only offering duck, a filet, and octopus !? No chicken at all. The chef is obviously sitting on a very high horse. I ended up getting a plate of 18 rigatoni, and I counted them, 2 glasses of wine and my wife had the filet and 2 glasses of wine. The filet was ok. Nothing special. Many steak houses around are far better and the rigatoni was meh. I’m all for dining dining if it’s actually worth it. This place is not.

   I have been to Carmelo's many, many times and have ALWAYS had an excellent meal. This was the first time that I did not enjoy the meal! Appetizer meatballs were average (tomato sauce was phenomenal though), bread was average, beet appetizer was over salted & too acidic, main courses salmon was dry & the shrimp paste added nothing (and just tasted bad to be honest) with a lack-luster fennel puree, main course veal chop was overcooked although the creamed spinach underneath was wonderful. The budino was nice but honesty just an overpriced chocolate pudding. I won't be back for a while until this menu changes. Not worth the prices charged.

   Our meal was wonderful and the service was, as always, outstanding. Alicia was attentive and friendly, always making us feel right at home. We had our 4 year old with us and she treated him just the same and he was thrilled to be included in everything. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday and it was a perfect night.

   Our meal at Carmelo's was delicious. Pasta perfectly al dente. My only complaint was the restricted menu. Not a lot of choices and only three entrees that weren't pasta. I understand most restaurants these days are going this route due to a shortage of workers and supply chain issues. But a few specials would have been appreciated. Otherwise, wonderful meal. We will be back.

   Great food and service - even with snow storm brewing outside Carmelo’s was warm and inviting inside - smaller menu selection but still delicious- we had the Icelandic cod entree and the homemade rigatoni selections

    The food was excellent and very flavorful. The filet was one of the best filets I have ever had…tender and the blueberry polenta was an amazing complement to it. The rigatoni was so good and unlike any other rigatoni I have ever had. The salmon croquettes for an appetizer were delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely over delivered on our expectations!

    Carmelo is an outstanding chef who truly cares about the product he is serving to his guests. It is all top notch and I have never had a bad meal. I love this place and all the employees who make you feel at home. Well worth it!

    New fall menu is out and what a menu it is Butternut squash bisque Chard pancake - like eating a kale pancake perfect alternative when tired of salad New entree to die for “meatloaf” not your mother’s meatloaf - it is melt in your mouth delicious - I may never make meatloaf at home again!!!! What a wonderful evening brought new friends with us to show off our favorite restaurant they were as impressed as we always are - thank you Carmelo for delicious meal and Katie for such fabulous service!!

    This is one of the best restaurants in the Niagara Frontier. Food is always high quality and wine choices, while relatively few, are varied and not too expensive. Menu changes frequently with a focus on fresh ingredients.

    Very welcoming; cheerful and accommodating service. House-stuffed blue cheese olives for our martinis. Creative menu that included a chard pancake with horseradish cream and a moist and delicious swordfish steak. The server even split our affogato three ways. Thank you for another memorable experience.

    We celebrated a special birthday while at Niagara Falls. We loved our meal and experience at Carmelo’s! We shared a cold corn soup with basil olive oil, a peach and heirloom tomato burrata salad, as a starter; then, a La carte meatballs, and a homemade spaghetti pasta with a zucchini creamy sauce as the main (incredible), as well as a delicious olive oil cake with whipped cream on a bed of peach preserves for dessert. Each course was memorable and exceptional. The ambiance was also exceptional, it appears to be an old historical home. I indicated on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. The waitress was nice and mentioned “happy birthday” but there was no special treat for birthday. She also added someone else’s drinks to my bill so watch out for that. Overall, fantastic! So glad we found this special place.

    Food was fantastic, ambience was quiet, casual and relaxed in the best of ways. We were seated by the kitchen and patio door…not ideal, but not not a big deal either. Next time will spend the day window shopping in Lewiston first : )
