Went with family so got to taste a few different dishes. The "black sage" (seafood pasta) was marvelous. The chicken parm. was text book and perfect. Both were great and well enjoyed.
I ordered the boar ribs. Chef's recommendation was right, it should be cooked to "medium". Most people would have loved it. But I am stubborn, and like my meat more cooked, so ordered it medium-well. It was fantastic, and I would happily devour it again.

Excellent very dry Tanq martinis. Osso Bucco was tender and flavorful with lots of tasty marrow. Veal Marsala was excellent. Truffle fries were very good. My only wish would be for smaller sized portions.

Food was really good, server was personable and excellent.
I did not like the menu choices. I had to alter the food I ordered. The fillet of seabass were 2 little pieces of seabass with THE TAIL ATTACHED. Most of it was raw. I don't think that the seabass in general, based on the size, was worth the price.
The atmosphere in the bar which was where we ate are meal was boring, dark & old fashioned.
I am from out of town, and come to Winnipeg at least once a year. I can GUARANTEE YOU that I will never return to that restaurant.
The Ribeye and Tenderloin were superb. Sides were very good especially brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes. Excellent Wine suggestion and fantastic service!
The service was very good, patrons obnoxious and loud, considered leaving before we ordered but they soon bailed. Had the carpaccio and black magic pasta it was excellent. I have been there the year before with a Christmas party and was disappoint. The kobi was over chared as well as all vegetables. The meal tasted like carbon everything.

Our second visit to Carne was even better than our first. The steaks, Tempura Lobster and of course the roasted Mussels were all delightful and cooked to our expectations. The service is friendly, helpful and not in your face but there when you need something. Thursday is our preferred day because of the fresh oysters special at "buck a shuck"! All in all, a great food experience in a very comfortable setting.
My wife brought me here for my birthday and I tried the Japanese Wagyu A5 tenderlion and Snake river farms Wagyu ribeye! Both were amazing with the Japanese Wagyu being a very special experience for a beef lover. Worth the money. Both were cooked to medium rare perfection and seasoned just right. Great sides too. Great service, very quick and excellent overall experience.

The dining room was well appointed but empty the night we were there. There was one other party of 8 in the room when we arrived and we were seated right next to them. I'm sure that makes it easier for the server but we may as well have been seated right at their table. The steaks and wine are very expensive. We understand it is an upscale venue but meat entrees in the $50 - $70 range seemed over the top. As we said, the dining room was empty. That being said, the pastas were good and service was pleasant and knowledgeable. When we asked the server why we were seated next to the only other party in the room, he promptly took one of our pastas off the bill. Hmmm, didn't ask for anything but OK. Trying to keep the customer happy.
We went for an anniversary dinner and were very disappointed although the service was attentive and the toast of champagne that was delivered to us as soon as we sat down was a nice gesture. As for the food it was highly overrated and expensive. The waiter mentioned that they were known for their steaks so my husband decided to try the waygu beef. He asked for a medium cook and it came well done. They offered to bring him another but by then I had already eaten most of my black ink seafood pasta (which was the only good meal). They comped us with dessert but the tiramisu was disappointing , the ladyfingers were chewy as if someone rushed to make it at the last minute. Won’t be back again.

My wife and I decided to try Carne for our 5 year anniversary. When we first arrived at 7 pm we were only the second table in the place and we were a bit nervous. However, it turned out there was nothing to be worried about because this was one of the best meals I’ve had in Winnipeg (and I’m born and raised here). As the night wore on the restaurant filled up and had a great vibe. Our server Dale was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the specific cuts of beef they serve. He provided very good recommendations for both the food and wine. And the FOOD... it was outstanding. There wasn’t one thing we didn’t love. It is a bit pricy but you get what you pay for and it was one heck of a meal.
If your hesitating to go don’t. Your won’t regret it.
Don’t normally write reviews but I took my wife here for our 10th wedding anniversary and she was sooo impressed, the service was exceptional and the food was so worth it !
Great set up the circular layout avoids you being too close to other diners. Service was top notch not low cost but high quality
Excellent first class service by well mannered server. Exquisite food very well prepared and very well presented. Our tenderloin was cooked exactly RARE as requested. The Tuscan Fries were delicious, the mushrooms were excellent and in abundance, our wife Pork Porterhouse was very good and quite large!
They offered us a courtesy sparkling wine for our Wedding Anniversary!

I was very impressed with the warm hospitality and exceptionally professional service provided by Dale.
We always spoke very highly of Carne and recommended it to friends and family based on previous experiences. We were excited to order $200 worth of gift cards for me and my husband to go back.
As a special night away from the kids, we went this past week for oyster night, to satisfy our Kobe beef craving and to have the caprese salad that we had last time.
Needless to say we were more than disappointed. Half of the oysters that we ordered (6) had a pungent smell and tasted like they had gone bad. The server did remove $3 from our bill but was doubtful of how we could have been the only ones to get bad oysters. I was scared that I would get sick from them, luckily we didn’t! The caprese salad was not what we had remembered but was okay as it was something that could make at home for a few dollars. I did enjoy my steak, luckily for a $200 bill. I decided to skip dessert just incase the oysters did make me sick.
I am not one to complain about food as we often try new restaurants in the city and are huge supporters of local businesses. Honestly speaking, I would no longer recommend Carne to anyone and will share my unfortunate experience. I’m not sure that I would even enjoy oysters anymore!

Had a fantastic evening from the time we entered till the time we departed, hunter the bartender and our server dylan, were great,not to forget the manager who touched our table. Overall a very good dining experience. I would highly recommend this venue.
My wife and I had a very wonderful meal with a favourite bottle of Italian Red wine "Zisola". I believe we were served by Meredith and she was marvelous...attentive but not overly so. Our Cabrese Salad was very fresh and set the mood for our main courses of Ribeye (Brant Lake Alberta), Veal Marsala and sides of Fresh Spagehetti Aglio Olio Pepperoncino and Eggplant Parmesan. We finished off with the Chocolate Pate "shared" with Americano Coffee. A nice touch was to have Chef Michael Dacquisto drop by our table to welcome us back and to ensure we were satisfied. Let me say.....we were very satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful evening....very relaxing.

Had a fantastic server (thanks Dale) and a lovely flavourful fresh meal. Huge wine list and beautifully curated cocktails. My husband was ecstatic with the Wagyu steak and calamari and I thoroughly enjoyed spaghetti carbonara, fresh asparagus and tiramisu. Will be back next time we are in Winnipeg!
