   Server made a few errors in our order and service. Small things like forgetting to bring our salad or bringing our dessert to go when we didn't ask for that. The manager took care of comping the salad, which was kind. The biggest criticism was the food though. The salad was over dressed, the Alfredo and the Tiramasu was really rich. The cream in the cannolis were more like soft chocolate frosting. It wasn't something I was craving for the next day. But glad I went once.

   Our party of 4 had wonderful food and extraordinary service. The fried calamari and caprese salad were delicious starters. For entrees we had the bucatini, gnocchi, veal française, and a combo of the tricolor salad and the meatball appetizer. All delicious. If there was any critique, it would be too much cream in the pesto sauce on the gnocchi. When we mentioned to the server that the after dinner limoncello wasn’t very good because it wasn’t very cold, management immediately removed it from the bill. The ambiance is very pleasant. Caruso’s Grocery is a very welcome addition to the Rockville dining scene.

   We were rather disappointed that although Caruso's is a good (not great) "red sauce Italian" restaurant, it's quite expensive, and we came away thinking it's not really worth the extra cost. Nothing we ordered stood out, other than that the portions are quite substantial. It did not live up to it's very favorable reviews by well-known critics.

   Won’t be going back. Friendly service, but food was so-so and over priced. Nice atmosphere. Asked for bread, it was so hard that we could barely break it apart. We really wanted to like this restaurant, but the bottom line was the food and price just didn’t measure up.

   The food is delicious! My fiancé and I came for an anniversary dinner & split a few things from the menu, loved everything we tried! The atmosphere and service was really nice too. Definitely recommend & would go back! The only thing I’d note for improvement is not seating 2tops so close together. They tried to squeeze 3 tables of 2 into a tight area so the middle table could barely squeeze into their seats and unsurprisingly kept asking to be moved. The restaurant accommodated which we appreciated otherwise our anniversary dinner would have felt like a blind double date being so close to the table next to us.

    Mediocre at best. Service was horrible! Waiter took the order and brought the check and that’s all we saw of her. No introduction, no greeting. The place was not even busy for that lack of attention or service. Food was ok, absolutely nothing to brag about. Drinks tasted watered down, including the glass of wine. Definitely not worth the price for the amount of food, presentation, or taste.

    The food was delicious but you could tell that the staff was learning the menu, etc. Everyone seemed a little frazzled; our server was just great though. The atmosphere was nice but it still looked like a brewpub when we walked in. The Owen's Ordinary signs were still up. It was a little puzzling to be honest. Also the bathrooms were really gross.

    Shared the always delicious Caesar salad; it’s huge Seafood pasta was filled with shellfish. Very good. Trout was good as well; next time I’d ask butter sauce on side since it was very rich Great place.

    There is a very limited menu which could be supplemented with specials to improve upon range of selections. I can see where it would be boring to go back repeatedly. The food is fine if a bit tending toward sweetness.

    Very limited menu with mostly pasta dishes. My chicken parmigiana was overcooked and chewy. The drink which I paid $12-14 was about 4 ounces.

    Caesar salad and tricolor salads were both excellent and generously sized. The meatballs are excellent and my husband said his linguine with clam sauce was the best he’s ever had. our waitress was terrific.

    The staff was so helpful and nice! It was my birthday, and this couldn’t have been a better night out for my boyfriend and I. The food, vibes, and service especially were top tier. 5/5!!!

    Was excited to learn about this newer spot - did not realize there was a Rockville location. It’s very hidden - not much signage at this time - hidden within Owens Ordinary. For appetizers we tried the calamari and meatballs. Portion sizes were not overly large but fair. Meatballs were good but the calamari was excellent. Great taste and perfectly fried. Our main courses were baked cavatelli which was kind of standard, essentially what you might expect with baked ziti. The Alfredo was surprisingly good - I wish I had ordered it and ended up eating my wife’s leftovers. The Alfredo sauce was light and that’s what made it stand out in a good way. Mushrooms were a nice complement as well. Finally we both tried the tiramisu for dessert. A nice portion and hints of espresso with A-LOT of custard. Personally I prefer a little more cake - my wife enjoyed it way more than I and didn’t mind more custard. Overall, would return but I was turned off by the 3% “back of the house fee” added to the check. What happened to splitting the tips with the back of the house? Back of the house that works way harder than the order taker. I saw the food runner and bus boy more than my waiter yet the waiter got the bigger tip - they should be splitting the tip instead of charging this extra fee that reflects poorly on management.

    The garlic bread was very good but the spaghetti and meatballs kind of disappointing. Service was okay - server may have had too many tables as he was pleasant but there seemed to be a large amount of time between ordering dessert and it showing up while the meal came out lightening quick which gave us a sense it was more like an assembly line than made to order. It was good but not amazing.

    This restaurant blows my mind. I love coming here and the food is perfection. The service is wonderful. We came for three husbands birthdays and we were spoiled by the service. Thank you for a wonderful evening. So glad you opened a second location near the suburbs!

    I’ve been here twice the the food is outstanding. I loved the Veal franchise, chicken parm and baked cavatelli. The service was great. My only complaint is that the tables are a bit small. Make a reservation, the place is busy!

    We had been to Caruso’s before. It was excellent. This time, it wasn’t. The Caesar salad was overdressed and tasteless. The chicken parm was like cardboard drowned in tomato sauce. The eggplant was also flavorless, which had been our favorite during our last visit. The tiramisu was the only real delicious element to our meal. Disappointing to say the least.

    Food is excellence but service needs a lot of help. My boyfriend and I dined at restaurant with another couple at the restaurant on Friday night. From the beginning at check in table the service was just not up to par or fit the style of restaurant. This is old school Italian with servers that lack the knowledge or personality of what that means. The food is exceptional and we will definitely go back but hope the service with soon be on par with the food.

    It was our first time here so our expectations were fairly low. However, we had a wonderful evening and will return many times, I’m sure. Be advised that while the food is delicious, the portions are HUGE. Consider sharing, or plan to take half of your meal home. The menu is somewhat limited, but the choices are all appealing. I had the trout piccata which was delicious. My companion ordered the chicken parm, which was also delicious and came with a “side” of spaghetti marinara in a very large bowl. For an appetizer, we had the fried calamari - perfectly cooked - but even that was so large we couldn’t finish it. Our server, Pascal, was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu items. All of the serving staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere is warm, old school Italian - very pleasant. Caruso’s Grocery is an extremely welcome addition to Rockville’s pretty dreary restaurant scene.

    I've been wanting to eat at the Capitol Hill location so I was delighted that the Pike & Rose restaurant opened. It looks like they need more time in getting settled in terms of service. As other reviews noted, the service was subpar from the time we entered the restaurant until we left. The food was as good as I hoped it would be. I'll give it a few more months and try again.

    I really enjoyed the food and how it was played. My wife and I came on Valentine’s Day. The ambience is also really nice, low light and good sound level. No loud background music playing which is good. They need to polish the service a little bit. We had what seemed like 4 different servers.
