Superbe endroit
While on vacation to Montreal, we discovered this wonderful, intimate, restaurant with cooked to order food prepared perfectly. The seafood paella was superb with scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams and lobster on a bed of flavorful rice. The shrimp kabob, house bread and sangria were equally satisfying. The wine list is extensive with many good bargains that were quite affordable. Our server Luiz (sp) made a great experience even better. I left my phone there and both Luiz and the owner came the next day to unlock the restaurant and give me my phone well before they were to open. A great experience, great food, and wonderful staff. Now, if only they would open a restaurant here in Columbus Ohio, I would be in heaven.
We were looking for a new food experience and found it here. The food was fabulous. We ordered a tapa sampler, suggested by the waiter and shared seafood paella. It was perfect for two of us. Topped it off with a pitcher of Sangria - which was fabulous. What made the experience was the service. The waiter had great suggestions for us, explained foods and tastes to us and all around provided exceptional service to complete our last night in Montreal. So glad we made the choice to dine here. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday here, the food was incredibly delicious, staff were so friendly and accommodating, they even brought out the cake with guitar and all staff singing happy birthday in Spanish! Loved the experience
A great place for paella, desserts and Spanish coffee. I loved that we felt like we were in a very local, family spot. We seemed to be the only tourist there on a Sunday evening. It felt warm, friendly, and just down home. The food and wine were excellent and the service from staff was attentive but not overbearing. Would definitely eat here again for a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! If you speak French, English and/or Spanish, you will hear it here.
We had a group of 9 for dinner. We had some great appetizers and 6 different paellas for dinner. Extensive wine list with some excellent choices. The service was very good. A great spot in the Latin Quarter.
Bravo.
Poor service and unprofessional manager
Très bonne bouffe espagnole. Prix assez cher. Décor un peu années ‘70.
The service was superb and the food was excellent!
A conseiller fortement .
The food was great. We went on Christmas eve so we already expected it to be busy. It was about a 40 minute wait for our food, but well worth the wait. It was packed but the food was great and service good. We had the chefs choice of 6 tapas and the Valencian pallela. Definitely recommended.
The quality of food doesn't warrant such prices. Seafood dishes use very few bites of seafood, in spite of the price.
Nice very small restaurant on saint Denis, cosy? but not ideal for more than one group (!6 or more ) at a time . Good service . Meals could be better proportioned . 5 people ordered the same paella but 2 did not resemble the others plates and had significantly less food , which was disappointing . Nothing was done when mentioned to waiter . Flamenco show with dancer and guitarist was interesting but only Friday and sat evening . Table hote good value
We loved it, excellent food, ambient and service. Very charming and typical Spanish decoration inside. The real feel of Galicia.
Warm and attentive staff with great atmosphere
The ambiance was excellent for a date and then the flamenco band started and it really made our evening as one to remember.
Great wine, the food was excellent and I really recommend this restaurant.
Food was great and service was very attentive.
we love to try ethnic foods and this was a "find" -- LOTS of Spanish seafood dishes included squid, lobster, mussels, octopus as ingredients; the gazpacho was yummy and they had bacalao too but land-lubbers need not worry; not as much variety in meat dishes but they were there too; Sangria seems to be a specialty as well
Food was authentic, piping hot, fresh and delicious!
Service was very friendly, a little slow but we didn't mind as we were there for a long slow dinner celebrating 2-birthdays.
Great surprise having the live guitar and flamenco dancer! Great show.
Would definitely go back.
Had a delightful time at Casa Galicia. We were not too hungry but it's definitely worthy getting there with plenty of room to enjoy the food. The menu has lots of lovely choices and the portions look quite big. Delicious house wine, great service, beautiful guitar and flamenco dance. I really love that Casa Galicia is not another trendy restaurant with hot servers but just the perfect traditional tiny place that you'll always want to visit again.
Their table d'hote offer a good idea about their cuisine with reasonable price. Sea bass excellent!
Authentic Spanish paella in cozy setting. Delicious, perfectly prepared and served. Very attentive friendly, staff. Friday night Flamenco show with live music/Spanish guitar was very enjoyable. Quite reasonable prices.... Highly recommend !!!!
This was a most pleasant find! The food is nothing short of succulent. My husband had the lobster bisque and said it was the best he ever had. My filet mignon steak was cooked to perfection! And what can I say about the Sangría, la mejor en Montreal :) This outing reminded us very much of our time in Malága Spain! This is a perfect setting to enjoy the evening and meal where you can take all the time in the world; they don’t simply turn tables!
Great evening with music and dance, excellent food and service, will come back!
My Massachusetts friends and I returned for another visit to Casa Galicia for the awesome paella and exciting flamenco dancing and were not disappointed in either.
Good food although nothing extraordinary. Great wine selection. Service was impecable Although we were only two tables.
Amazing food, great service and friendly people! If I could go there every month I would! But I'm in Ottawa sadly :(
A welcome port on a stormy night. Wet and cold (not a taxi to be found), we were welcomed by our affable waiter, and rescusitated with seafood paella and a nice bottle of wine. We all agreed that the grilled octopus appetizer was one of the best dishes that we have ever eaten. We highly recommend Casa Galicia.
The restaurant was quiet as it was shortly after the holidays. But the food was pretty bad- practically inedible. It must have seen better days because it was not at all like the ratings previously listed.
Authentic food simply prepared. Casa Galecia is the real deal relative to authentic Spanish cooking. Paella is the best that I have had in Montreal - very good and large portion. I ordered the Catalan style and my guest ordered the vegetarian. We were both have with out entrees. Music was a bit too loud but easily remedied. All in all - worth the visit!!
Lovely meal with great ambiance
Delicious food and excellent service I'll come back for sure!
