Venue is beautiful, but when you think of high tea at the castle u want to dress up and have a nice bougie experience. This place was crowded, big families, lots of kids and only offered 1 tea ;(

For High Tea of $75 with mandatory gratuity I expected a quality loose leaf tea experience, not one bag of tea for a pot shared by 2 people. The server poured a first cup of tea and it had barely been steeped as was evident by the colour. Will not repeat this particular experience even though I love Casa Loma...High Tea has a standard expectation and this totally misses the mark.

I tried contacting Casa Loma to provide my feedback, but didn’t hear back yet. For one, the food was mediocre: way too many desserts for 3 people and very little savoury food. The savoury food was terrible - one hor d'oeuvre was a tiny round piece of bread with a couple of thin slices of cucumber on top! A place like Casa Loma should be embarrassed to serve such food, let alone charge such a high price for it. The entertainment was tacky, and it appeared to be shared between multiple rooms. To top it off, we were promised the ability to tour the castle AFTER our meal, only to find out that they close at 5 - as in, get out before 5. Something they neglected to highlight when purchasing the tickets. Why provide sittings as late as 3:45 if you usher everyone out at 5? If we had known we would have to leave at 5pm, we would have come to tour the castle before our meal (which was indicated as not allowed, anyways, as it specifically states we can tour AFTER our meal). At such a steep price for a tiny amount of hor d'oeuvres that were terrible, and a massive tray of desserts that no one could possibly eat (thus leading me to believe they were probably leftovers taken from earlier seatings), plus being mislead that we would be able to tour the castle AFTER our meal, we are utterly disgusted. We could have spent $100 per person on a delicious meal with wine (instead of cold tea), and perhaps even a dessert, at a restaurant where we could have taken our time to eat, plus throw in some extra money and go see a candlelight concert for real, not tacky, entertainment.

The food was great but because of our reservation time and the castle’s closing time, we were able not able to see the castle after our meal. So for the cost to just eat, it wasn’t worth the money. We had never been and missed being able to see the most important part. I was very disappointed.

Venue was outstanding! Food served during high tea was low quality. It LOOKED pretty but breads/tarts were ALL stale and lacked flavour. Raw onions in egg salad was way too strong and ruined everything else ate as we still tasted onions. Sweets should be TWO of everything. Not have to share one of everything. Should NOT call the cream “clotted cream” as it was not that. Overall, venue amazing. Food very sub par for price.

Compared to many high teas we go to, I’ve seen that the portion is more into the greedy side. At least we should get 2 of every item, after asking, we’re told that that’s what comes, unfortunately it doesn’t meet our expectations (with experience).

For the most part the food is really and it's worth the money . I only wish they had normal cumber sandwiches and their egg croissant sandwiche was a real disappointment as you are paying a lot but the croissant is not butter or flakey. It was very store bought like they got it at No Frills in a bag. What your paying they could do better....Even Tim Hortons is way better.

We went to Casa Loma for hight tea and I was so disappointed with the experience. My friend got a piece of plastic baked inside one of the scones, the waiter told us the Mimosas were complementary, but it was only the first one that was complementary so I ended up paying for 2 additional ones. I asked to get my daughters leftovers packed and they said no because their policy doesn’t allow it for “ liability purposes” which is absolutely ridiculous because we paid $75 per ticket plus an added 18% gratuity. I had asked if I could get a plain croissants instead of the one with egg for my 7 year old and they said they couldn’t because they had all the croissants counted for. Who in the world is running this place? It’s was so mediocre and not a true high tea experience. I couldn’t help notice that even some of the staff’s clothes was so wrinkled like if a cow had chewed the shirt and spit it out. Your company needs to do a revamp and train staff properly. I had a similar experience when I went for dinner here at Don Alfonso beginning of last year. Just because the location is touristy, the service shouldn’t be garbage. Please make the experience better.

My family attended afternoon tea on family day. I noted my daughters egg allergy after the reservation was made. We repeated the allergy when we arrived and stressed the severity. I know restaurants can’t ensure no cross contamination but we are used to better and stronger efforts. We were given a plate of food for my daughter which was presented as egg free. On her first bite she was immediately unwell. She had an anaphylactic reaction immediately. The encounter resulted in a trip to emergency. When we contacted the establishment they told us they are confident in their process. If you are looking for an establishment that can accommodate an allergy this is not the place. I am grateful my two year old is okay and don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Well organized check in. Pleasant staff. Limited choice of tea. Earl Grey, Green , Lavender Roobios and an herbal tea. The Staff asked if we had allergies we said no-- twice (?) All the food is brought at once. It had some of the attributes of a High Tea. I have had LOTS of High Teas in various countries The old Four Seasons here in Toronto was the second best I ever had. This was near the worst. I could overlook the uninspiring sandwiches, ie egg salad on a croissant and slightly stale (re-served?) desserts. The amount of food and tea size was good. The service at the table was pretty good-- no tea cozy to keep the tea warm and no offer of topping up the tea. You have to ask. After spending an hour gabbing with my friend we realized we had lots of sandwiches etc. left. After asking for a box or bag we were told we can not take the food home!!! The food we paid for and were eating. We were told it is for liability reasons the food has dairy in it😳. Nothing is posted stating this, your site does not state that you have to eat all the food-- you can not take home a doggy bag. Funny Blue blood does not have this policy-- a restaurant down the hall. Unacceptable. Give it a hard pass. Go to the Four Seasons or frankly any other place for High Tea in Toronto. Oh and the washrooms are unmarked Unisex. If you are lucky like me, I got to watch a young man scroll on his phone hanging out in the washroom I was using. Not lining up nor waiting for anyone. Nice. 🙄

This is two years in a row that we have attended the tea and it is always such a joy to attend. The staff, food, ambiance, ease of making the reservation is outstanding. Of course having afternoon tea in a castle isn't too shabby also. Will probably attend next year if once again the tea is offered. In addition always love touring Casa Loma such an intricate part of Toronto's history. So glad it is here to visit and hopefully for generations to come.

I was excited to try the high tea experience at Casa Loma. The service, the ambiance and ability to wander through the castle were all amazing. The food however was not of good quality. It was clear it had been left out waiting to be served which gave it a stale, dry quality. I would still recommend though as everything else about the experience was excellent.

It was a wonderful experience overall. My only criticism- this was to be a special Birthday outing. When I made the reservation, I based it on the photo of the conservatory that was part of the ad for the Casa Loma High Tea experience. However, when we were being seated, we found ourselves in the rear near the bar area in a corner by the fireplace. Fortunately, after expressing my concerns about the location of our table, we we were re-seated in the library area which was amazing. I just want to also say that the wait staff and violinist were exceptional...they helped make this an even better experience. I just wish that when someone makes a reservation in the future if a High Tea is offered again, they can be offered a choice of where they want to be seated. i.e. offer the conservatory, library, the bar area or no preference. At least this way, there will be no unexpected surprises. So other than this concern, it was a wonderful experience, especially for the person having a special Birthday.

This was our second time doing high tea at Casa Loma, and it was disappointing this time. The presentation wasn’t consistent for tables and they didn’t have as much assortment for the sweets as last year. They didn’t let us take home what we didn’t finish unlike last time, so that food probably got thrown out and that’s such a waste. Other high teas in the city allow takeout. One server kept trying to take our food while we were eating? He’d ask if he could clear plates from our table and even when we said no, he’d grab things. It felt like they just wanted us to leave even though we hadn’t even been there for an hour.

The ambiance was outstanding and that’s about all. I feel that the service staff was ill-prepared, disorganized, and often confused. I stated both in the reservation and when I called, that I had a gluten allergy, and was assured that substitutions would be made. Our server did the best she could with accommodating my questions but I had to speak with a manager twice. Alcohol was also served to two children at my table. When I was finally able to get something that was knowingly gluten free, there was a spider in my fruit cup. I am very disappointed by this experience and I was expecting much more from the Liberty Group. We were celebrating a special occasion and besides the stunning backdrop, everything else was a mess.

We should have had a lovely afternoon at the Casa Loma High Tea, and it did start out very nice. The setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. But there was too much food, so we left some of our favourites to take home in a doggy bag. Unfortunately when we asked for a take-away container, we were told that we were not permitted to take the food off the premises. The food that we had paid quite a bit for!! We were extremely surprised and disappointed, and will not return to this High Tea, even though everything was lovely. First of all, it is entirely unfair that we need to forfeit half of the food that we paid for and secondly, the waste of all this food is shocking.

We attended the High Tea and our table was located in the conservatory room. It was just beautiful with white Linen service and excellent food. The cost was $75 a person but that allowed you to tour the castle as well so if you were going to tour the Castle anyway at $45 Adult then the Tea was really only costing you $30 person. A real bargain.

Amazing experience as always, I love attending High-Teas at Casa Loma! The staff is always so kind and accommodating. My grandmother required a wheelchair, and were so accommodating to her needs. Our servers (Nityananda and Arvind) were so attentive and made it a very special experience for us. They were very attentive to our dietary needs and made sure to let us know what foods we could/could not have and accommodated accordingly. Thankfully the chicken they served was halal and that was a wonderful surprise accommodating to our religious dietary needs. Thank you! Would love to come back again the future!

Attended the Mother's Day Tea. It was overpriced for the amount and quality of the food. With so many people attending to see the exhibit it felt Disney Land like rather than an upscale event. I have recommended to my friends that they avoid this event in the future.
