The small, quaint dining room was designed to resemble an old fashioned Italian osteria. Rich with wood and other earth elements Fiamma is a warm inviting atmosphere. The Italian countryside was inspiration for both the menu and the dining space. While at Fiamma you will be greeted with a smile, and treated like family.

As always, the food was fabulous. We were disappointed by the service however. We were seated upstairs and there seems to be no communication between the kitchen and the staff in terms of timing. We weren’t even halfway through our appetizers when they started bringing out entrees. We were frantically shuffling around our plates as we tried to make room for everything on the table. The server bringing the food said not one word the whole time nor did he offer to take any plates away to help make room. It would be understandable if the restaurant was packed and they were trying to turn tables over quickly but there were plenty of empty tables around us. As we were eating we saw the same thing happen at the table next to ours. It made for a disappointing dining experience. It will make us think twice before going there again.
Great experience overall!!
Delicious food! Wonderful service !!
The food was superb and we enjoyed ourselves immensely!!
We've been to Centro several times in the past, but not in a year or so, and must say we were disappointed this time around. We were seated on the balcony railing as requested to cut down on the noise level, which was appreciated. Our server did not appear for several minutes upon being seated, though it was early in the evening and not busy. I ordered a specific scotch as per the menu but was given a bourbon instead because, the menu incorrectly listed a scotch they did not carry. That seemed OK to the server, rather than check to see if there were an alternate scotch I would like. We ordered a salad to share as an appetizer and it arrived within moments, but then just a few minutes later, our meals arrived before our salad could be finished and we were asked if we wanted to box up the salad. Our pizzas, enjoyed on previous visits, were sloppy, not crisp, and had to be eaten with a fork and knife rather than picked up. The server stopped by to check on things, but barely paused at our table and seemed to be on a mission elsewhere. We will come by again at a later date knowing this might have been a 'bad night' but all in all, this was not a pleasant dining experience, and was more like a diner experience.
One of my favorite restaurants. Great food, great service and the bartender is amazing !
Food was delicious but the service was awful. It took 35 minutes to just get our first round of drinks. We then waited another 30 minutes to get our salads. There was no apology and we were locked into a set tip amount because we had 6 people in our party. Explains the lack of motivation....
Fiamma’s food is always delicious. Best authentic pizza in Rochester! The portions are
Large for sharing.
Service was great,
And in a cool space.
Amazing experience! This was our first time here, and we will definitely be coming back! The staff were accommodating to us with our baby in a stroller and with my dietary restrictions. That doesn’t happen often, so we are so gracious. Can’t forget to mention how amazing the food was!
My husband and I always have an amazing time when we do a date night at Fiamma. The food is delicious- lots of flavor, portions to share, and always consistent. There are lots of great options for us as vegetarians, that don’t make it feel like your meal is an after thought since it doesn’t have meat. Definitely save room for some of the traditional, Italian desserts, too! The tables are not too close so you can relax and enjoy the company of the people you’re with. The best part of Fiamma Centro is the service- all of the servers are warm, welcoming, and fun.
The host quickly change tables for us to accommodate my grandma who could not walk up the stairs. Our server was amazing, she was warm, welcoming, provided us with some education, did a great job of describing and explaining the dishes, and attentive. The food was pretty great! The lamb meatloaf was moist and flavorful, the sausage and rappini pasta dish was slightly too salty but still delicious, And my grandmother loved the seafood risotto with black squid ink.... which was her first time trying! Dessert was equally amazing! The noise level was a little too loud but we were on the lower bar level due to her mobility. I would definitely love to go back!
Great place!!! Wonderful food and the service was great!
The food was delicious, but I was surprised at the lack of red sauce based dishes. While our server Tyler, was wonderful, the hostess seemed to wish she was somewhere else. Dressed very down and not terribly present. We were seated downstairs and as the bar filled with people, it got very loud. We love the food but will ask to be upstairs if we go again.
ONLY PROBLEM IS THE SOUND IS VERY LOUD, BECAUSE OF THE HARD SERVICES AND OPEN
After sitting at the bar for 45 minutes the hostess came and asked us if we wanted to eat at the bar; we agreed. She gave us a menu and neither bartender took notice or asked if we wanted to order food. The entire place became very smoky by about 8 o’clock because of all the cooking. They need a few more exhaust fans.
Great place. Very unique setting. Food was great and portions were huge!
The service was great but the food was a little under whelming everything was under seasoned especially for the price.
Pasta was delicious.
The meatballs for an appetizer are OUTSTANDING!!!!
Been several times and have enjoyed each time. Had the octopus and was great!
Celebrating a bday with great friends!!
0 stars if I could. Ordered special w "lobster tail" got cold lobster claw w overdressed limp salad draped with actual whole fish (anchovies) literally gross -When we tried to tell the waiter we were upset with meal he said nothing went over to another table then came back to us and begrudgingly said "can I get you something else" walked away without clearing the original dish literally made us wait for our wines for 20 minutes when no one was in the place was rude and unapologetic. Upsetting awful experience
It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant, it’s just that there are others that are similar and better. Our food was good, with fresh ingredients, but the preparation was only fair. Also, the salad was very expensive and what was included didn’t warrant the price.
As usual food was excellent, service was stellar!
Food was good, just thought (personally) it was a tad salty for my preference. Loved the look of the venue! Our server seemed a tad distracted and one of the other servers kept running down the stairs to grab food to deliver to tables- it was a tad distracting.
This was our third trip to Centro and again, another delight.! Each visit we sample different dishes, and just like our previous visit, each dish was perfect and flavorful, the flash fried shrimp and calamari were served hot and seasoned well, and one of the best dishes we had was the pasta with white clam sauce, perfect balance of flavors with just the right amount of red pepper. Our server Tyler was friendly and attentive, can’t wait to return
Very cool atmosphere. Friendly and attentive server. Great menu offering a variety of choices. Wood fired pizzas were pretty soggy, but overall everything else was great. Cocktails seemed a little pricey, but it’s to be expected at a trendy restaurant as this.
Excellent food, excellent service. The noise level is pretty loud and the room is so dark you have to use your cell flashlight just to read OR see what you're eating.
The service and food were good. We arrived on time and the both of the hostess were rude. It didn’t give a good first impression
6:30 reservation, table for 2 in bar area. Table was ready. Server prompt. Ordered a house salad to start, followed by pizza to share. Pizza brought to table by a runner a bit early and turned around to leave. We had to ask for clean plates for the pizza, and then had to ask that the salad be cleared. The runner took the salad plates but left the (large) salad bowl on the (small) table. We couldn't get anyone's attention so my husband put the bowl on the table located in the middle of the bar. No one ever came to check on us. At the end of the meal, the original server returned to the table. I explained my disappointment with the multiple service lapses. She apologized and offered another glass of wine for us to share. We declined. She brought a desert for us to share.
These errors involved basic service and were so off-putting that I don't think I'd go back to Centro. There are lots of other Italian restaurants in Rochester that provide a better experience.
Servers and bussers asked to clear our drinks and appetizers and meals over and over and over to the point of annoyance. The restaurant was more than half empty, so there was no need to rush us and turn the table.
The requirement of placing the order for appetizers and entrees at the same time is unnecessary. Just not that busy nor fancy a restaurant.
The ambiance is lovely and reminds me of a few places I frequent at home in NYC, and the food is okay, so I’ve tried this restaurant a few times while visiting Rochester, but I’ve been disappointed each time. Will have to scratch it off my list.
The food is exceptional, unique and nothing like it in the city. Dining room is a little loud, but that's because of the architecture which is one of the things we come for. Can't have it all. The dishes straight out of Italy and the chef takes great care to make sure they are be eccezionale and bellissima. Appetizers were the smelt/shrimp/calamari and the Octopus and Cannelloni bean. Never had Octopus like that (grilled) it was delish. All five of us had different dishes and they were great. They also specialize in wood fired pizzas, but to be honest there are a lot of restaurants that have that so we didn't order...especially since there were so many other unique and flavorful dishes on the menu. Our third time there and it only gets better each time.
The food was fantastic and the ambiance was comfortable and lively. I would definitely go back.
Excellent diverse menu with very high quality and generous portions. Very good service and nice atmosphere
Amazing food, service and ambiance! I would have rated it at five stars across the board but when we were served bread at the beginning of our meal it was cold and there was no butter, oil or herbs to spread on it as you typically would find. I rarely see butter at a high end italian restaurant but you do typically get cheese, oil or some dipping herbs in most cases. The bus boy also wasn’t sure how it was supposed to be served but didn’t offer butter oil or anything else. The waiter was fantastic. The food was very good. Some of the best homemade pasta, sauce and meatballs I have had. The Braciole was also amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
Awesome waiter.. yummy food. Cozy atmosphere for date night!
Food was great. Server was below average but support servers excellent. Noise level was high as expected.
Food was less than fair. Had the calzone. It was an enormous doughy inflated beard.
Way too much bread, lacking inside. We were charged $2 extra for the dipping sauce which we thought can with the dish.
Cocktails were delicious and service was excellent
We are regulars and this was the first time we got a less than great experience, normally we get great food. We went with a group and was told we could not have separate checks.
Our pizza was burned on the bottom and under cooked on top. The veal was tough and dry.
For the price I would expect bread on the table too.
The Pizza was spectacular. The Veal Chop delicious. The Pizza fantastic. The Family style salad with the artichoke hearts couldn't have been any better. Friendly knowledgeable wait staff. We will be going back again and again and again.
