   Who knew that the best steak served in all of Connecticut is in downtown Shelton! Not kidding this place is awesome. The setting is modern, funky, and cool, but yet relaxed. All of the people are very friendly, cant do enough for you, and help to make your experience the best. Walter, our server, was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and has the best Spotify playlist for the restaurant- he was great. The chef is super talented and took the time to visit and speak with us regarding one of his recipes and was kind enough to write it down as well. Kale caesar was great. Charred Snap peas with a Romesco sauce and hazelnuts were different and delicious. The stars of the night were the 10 oz. filet mignon, cooked to perfection and served with roasted garlic and sliced peppers. Truly fabulous. The whole branzino was not only so amazing but a piece of art on the wooden plank from which it was served, adorned with smashed potatoes, an amazing mixed salad, and a chimichurri dipping sauce. Lots of food! Too full to try the desserts which look scrumptious. Cant wait to go back to try the Pork Chop next visit. Don't miss out on this new special upcoming restaurant, it's a gem!

   We LOVE the Chaplin! The food consistently exceeds our expectations. If you want to split a few tapas and drinks or have a hearty steak dinner, you will not be disappointed. A few of our faves: steak tartar, roasted bone marrow, octopus main, the burger and the NY strip with gorgonzola butter. Both Walter and Amanda are excellent servers!

   We arrived on time to our reservation, but still had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. We understand they can’t tell patrons to hurry up but I feel like 25 minutes is a bit much. Food was amazing. Would order everything we had again. Steak was perfect. Next time I’m craving a steak dinner, there would be no question we will go to Chaplin. It was cooked to perfection and the roasted garlic and peppers that came on the side really enhanced the meal.

   First time guests. Seated promptly. Server Walter came right over. I had a delicious Kale salad! So good! Filet mignon $45, whipped potatoes were a la cart -as are all sides $7 each. Husband had porkchop $35 and onion soup $9. Glass of Chardonnay $9.50 All in all a great experience. The place was packed. Lively crowd and music. Great service. Would definitely return. Steak menu is pricey and seafood tower is $125!

   We were greeted with smiling faces! Friendly manager and an attentive waiter. The drinks, appetizers, and entrees were all excellent! If I had a complaint it would be my steak looked too small, but if you think it that’s still a compliment because I wanted more. I would recommend eating here to my friends.

    Food was incredible! Ambiance was beautiful - the flower wall was everything! Brussels and meatballs were delicious for our apps! The Branzino is a dish I’d definitely get again! Our waitress was friendly and super in tune to our needs which is challenging given that we were a large group! I definitely recommend!

    Great steak and branzino. They are serving at NYC prices, which was surprising given the location. The veggies were so super salty it was inedible. We sent it back but the replacement order came back the same. The clams were delicious but whoever shucked it left a lot of shell bits inside. Service was slow but wait staff very nice.

    Beautiful atmosphere. Waiter was very friendly. Food and drinks were delicious but definitely pricey. I would return for a special occasion but not an “everyday” type of restaurant.

    We had the price fixe menu on Valentine's Day. While the food itself was quite good, everything was beyond slow. We were seated 30 minutes late for our 8:00pm reservation. We did not get our entrees for another 80 minutes (almost 10:00pm). Even the desserts took another 25 minutes. The bottleneck seemed to be in the kitchen. This could have been a function of the holiday crowd, but with a set menu of only a few items to choose, on would think the food would come out a lot faster, or at least not among the slowest we've experienced. We are willing to try again on a less busy night, because the food itself was worth flavorful.

    Great atmosphere. Fantastic Food. Bone Marrow was phenomenal . Our reservation was for 8 pm and unfortunately we were not seated until 840pm. Some items were sold out if the menu by the time we ordered. Other than that, our meal and service was amazing. Cannot wait to come back.

    Steaks we had were top notch just what we wanted,, as was the duck entrée. Started with mussels and sourdough appetizer. Again food was excellent. Noise level was higher than I enjoy, our waitress was very good, however for the prices expected maybe a little more attention, but was not a huge factor and we we're not ignored in the least bit. Would definitely go back for a special occasion

    The sourdough bread, the only bread, was terrible and was not complimentary, as we paid $5….although the accompaniments were excellent….No onion soup, as it sold out at 7 pm on a Saturday night. The steaks were both dry and tasteless….the meatballs and kale salad were excellent.

    Delighted! Scallops and onion soup were delicious, with lots of flavor. The chef is so on point with the herbs and vegetables that accompany each plate. Entrees hit the mark as well, monk fish for me and risotto for my husband. Both dishes were full of flavor. This is a restaurant that we absolutely recommend.

    Restaurant was great, but the patio area is not really insulated for winter dining. The food & server were great. It was just a little overpriced for the area. We did enjoy ourselves.

    Absolutely the best onion soup! And their truffle fries are sooo good. Monk fish dish was delicious, too. Next time we will try to find parking on the street as the convenient lot across the street cost us $11 for 2 hours. Wasn’t expecting that!

    Every single thing we ate and drank was utterly incredible. Our table was comfortable. The speed of service was just right and our server, Joshua, seemed to actually be psychic, appearing at the second the thought to ask for something popped into one of our heads. Wish we’d saved room for dessert, but we just couldn’t help ourselves. Maybe next time. And there will definitely be a next time.

    Service was very good. Very small wine selection by the glass. Steak was not that flavorful. Steak frite dish was well worth the price and delicious. Mussels were excellent as a starter and beet salad was okay. Desserts are house made with 3 choices. Chocolate cheesecake was tasty and cappuccino were hot and well done.

    It’s very nice inside. It’s trendy. It’s busy (at least on weekends) Food is very good. Menu is somewhat limited. Service can be spotty. Pretty expensive.
