Chart House Restaurant - Annapolis
Sunday Brunch: 10am - 2pm; Happy Hour Sunday - Friday in Lounge 4:30pm - 7pm
Great day to be in Annapolis for brunch. Our server was great & she mentioned the special editions to the Sunday brunch salad bar that were worth checking out. The caviar bar was a nice touch. Enjoyed the chef's special ice cream.
Took my wife here for her birthday, after a sunset sailing. It was a nice walk from the sailing area to dinner. Our reservation was for 9pm; we arrived at 8:45; we were seated at 9:05. The venue is beautiful. Right on the water, high ceilings, and well maintained throughout. The seafood is very good. The optional salad/buffet ($10 additional with an entrée, $19 stand alone) was okay. They do have caviar which was nice - but the food/fruit is pretty basic otherwise. For vegetarians or those that avoid pork - beware that the potato salad has bacon in it - which was not what our server told us. Overall, the service was very good - if not looking to drink - some very nice mocktails to select from as well. The coconut shrimp was very good - as was the fish, with the Thai style peanut sauce. They also gave a complimentary piece of mocha cake for my wife's birthday, which was excellent. While the "value" is average - the ambiance, service, and seafood quality are well worth the visit.
The best things about the restaurant were the reservation, the table was ready on time and the view.
Other than that, run away. The staff was pompous, the food was atrocious, and management was even worse.
The only thing I liked about this place was the view of the harbor. Food was overpriced and not that good. I had stuffed flounder and the crab stuffing tasted awful. Also, we were celebrating our anniversary, so the waiter brought out a giant piece of chocolate mud pie as a complementary dessert. I hate chocolate, so we didnt eat one bite. Wish he would've asked what dessert we desired. Overall, the experiencec wasn't good. We wont return...
The service was great, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere there. Will be returning soon.
I don't understand why people come here. The general manager, Gabby (Gabriel) Haddad is more of a hindrance than a help. The Chart House doesn't take requests for window tables when placing the reservation, so we arrived one hour before our reservation time to have a drink and request a window table at that time for our later reservation. Gabby didn't understand my request. When we checked on our table at the due reservation time, Gabby acted as though we were an inconvenience. The hostesses at the stand were actually more helpful and considerate.
Additionally, we had a table of 4. It took 45 minutes to get our meals after the appetizers were cleared from the table. My husband had the crab cakes and the bottoms of the crab cakes were burnt. We showed our server (Derek, I think?) and he offered to have them taken to the back and redone. Of course, after waiting for so long, we were hungry so my husband just ate around it. We paid for the entire entree as well.
My husband and I loved it. Our server was very kind and knowledgable. The wait for our food was a little long but we didn't mind. The food was very good, my husband loved the crusted salmon sooo much. Overall, it was beautiful and totally worth it!
We requested a window table for two when we got to the restaurant. We had a reservation but you have to wait until you get there to request a window table. We were told we could have one where we could see a winfow. But there were at least three empty window tables for two available. Appetizer (crab dip) was very good but our entrees came only a few minutes later. My stuffed shrimp was tough. Fingerling potatoes were dry as a bone. Dessert was very good but we waited at least half an hour for it. Disappointing overall. Not worth the price.
My boyfriend and I went for his birthday. I had no issues making reservations the night before. For the next time I know that I would try to make it earlier for better time frames. Our time was for a Sat. evening at 5:15 and luckily they give a 15 min. grace period. We arrived with no wait and was seated right away. Our waiter, Grant was awesome! We started off with the shrimp cocktail which we expected more shrimp but the layout was great. It came to our table smoking on ice. I thought this was so awesome and the shrimp were colossal. We had mixed drinks which were the pomegranate mojito and the ultimate margarita. The drinks were ok for the price. Dinner was excellent. We ordered the Honey Harissa King Salmon, Crab Cakes, Sizzling Mushrooms and the creamed spinach. Since it was the mister's bday, he was surprised with the Original Mud Pie with a candle. We shared off of each other's plates with dinner and everything was excellent. We loved the view from where we had sat. We left out asking ourselves when are next visit back will be. We will definitely be returning soon.
This was a big, surprising disappointment. We have been to Chart House for our college age sons "going away" dinner several times, with great success. This time was different. The server was trying to rush us through the dinner, coming over repeatedly after we ordered our drinks. We told her we were going to enjoy the drink then order, we even put in an app, but she persisted in trying to get our orders. That was annoying but the bigger issue was dinner prep. We ordered steaks, we always do, and we order med-rare unless the server suggests otherwise. We like warm red center. Well our server kept saying medium. I don't know why I listened to her, I have been here many times after all, but I did and ordered medium. Two of the steaks came out grey, not a speck of pink. We asked that they recook them, so she took them back. Meanwhile my wife and son completely ate their meals. It was at least 20 minutes until our meals came back. I even went and found the manager it took so long. He offered us a free dessert for our inconvenience, but we were not getting a dessert. The manager did drop off the recooked steaks but left before we cut into them and never came by again to check on us or see if we were happy. So the check came and no other consideration was given for all the problems. Going to Ruth's next time.
Enjoyed a tasty meal with family on National Oyster Day. Great meals, service and beautiful views of the Annapolis Harbor.
The server, Christian, was very knowledgeable, congenial and professional. Unfortunately, the meal was not close to his level of excellence. The appetizer, a seafood and fruit tower, was well presented and tasty. The salad bar looked as though a tornado had run through it and strewn the contents haphazardly through the display. When first served the entrée, the order was incorrect and was returned to the kitchen. When I finally received the correct order, the blackened halibut was so overcooked that the texture was similar to canned tuna packed in water and the vegetables were cold. Though the manager offered to provide another piece of halibut, my appetite and patience were sorely diminished. I will not return to the Chart House.
I will return. Excellent brunch selection ever. All
food was cooked to perfection. Thanks
Overall food coming out of the kitchen was very bland, over cooked, underwhelming. Cream of crab was lukewarm and crab meat was chopped. Kimchi calamari was under seasoned, not sure how that’s possible with anything kimchi!!! Eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce had no seasoning, no hint of tarragon in flavor or nose. Poached eggs looked like it was steamed. Ordered prime ribs medium rare, all came out medium to well done the first round. Second round was cooked perfectly.
Despite of the poor executions in the kitchen, the service was spot on. Our waiter was attentive and awesome. He briefed
the manager about our foods and our desserts were comped.
The food and service was absolutely superb! Can’t wait for my next visit!
First time guests. I took my boyfriend for his Birthday and he genuinely enjoyed himself. Michelle, our waiter was very good and attentive. Food was delicious. We will come back.
Chart House Annapolis *never* disappoints. We go there 6-7 a year and always have a very good experience. The waitstaff are well acquainted with the menu items and specials, and make reliable recommendations. The menu changes seasonally and the specials have always been excellent. The wine list is extensive and offers something for every budget.
The views are phenomenal and the atmosphere is casual to refined.
The meat was cooked poorly and the fish was overdone and salty. Really surprising ..... maybe they changed chefs? Used to be my go-to spot... now just a No-go....
We have been to Chart House several times including hosting a 50th Anniversary. Everyone has enjoyed the food, special menus, view, and service. We hope to enjoy your restaurant again soon. Only one thing we would wish for is insulation to cut down on the noise. Good job folks!
Fabulous views, outstanding service and great food. This was a great experience.
Biggest dissapointment was steak quality. Not very large, and not served hot. Also a bit overdone compared to my requested "hot pink center" request.
I highly recommend the bourbon and chocolate. You'll be glad you did.
Great view but everything was mediocre..., worse than Red Lobster, which is unacceptable at these over $30 entree prices. The waiter was casual and not professional, bread came late, lemon request took 15 mins, steak was cold and the stuffed Flounder was overcooked. DON'T BE A CHUMP! There are so many better options in tbe area.
Everything was great!
This was our second visit. Our first visit was very good. We ate at the bar. On Saturday I had a reservation for 4 people. We were entertaining old friends we hadn't seen in a while. I asked for a table by the window if possible. They seated us on the side. The table was fine except it was next to a large party of boisterous people. It was difficult to converse with our friends. Our server seemed distracted and overly busy. Service was slow and uneven. Whereas our busboy, Brandon, was personable, knowledgeable, and on top of things. He ended up answering questions for us instead of our server. I ordered the fresh fish. It was grilled and over cooked. Even the tropical salsa couldn't mask how dry the fish was. For what should have been the highlight of the meal it ended up just being ok. For the price, it wasn't worth it. Not sure I will return to this restaurant in the future.
This is the second time in the past five years we have eaten at this restaurant. Had friends join us for a weekend vacation including a sailing cruise. This was their first time at this restaurant. View was fabulous and service was excellent. Enjoyed all of our food as well as the wines recommended. Only comment that I have is that due to the cost of the meal, this would be a special occasion place to go to. We all enjoyed our time here.
Went for a date with my husband as our wedding reception was held there 5 years ago... I ordered the filet medium rare and it was delivered almost raw. They took it back and put it back on, however, when returned it was cooked to the point of "stringy". I was very disappointed but didn't want them to have to start all over again as my husband's salmon was delivered with the first try and would have definitely been cold. They offered to give us a free "mini" dessert for our inconvenience. The mango mojitos were WONDERFUL!
Excellent, from start to finish! Brandon was a pleasure!
Love coming here. Dinner is perfect every single time.
Specials and appetizers were excellent. Dinner portions perfect size. Desert and tawny port capped a perfect evening.
Overall, it was a nice experience. Best water view in Annapolis. Crab soup is great!
The one thing that was lacking was the salad bar. Other Chart House restaurants I have been to had a much better one than this one. It was smaller and did not have the made to order ceasar salad.
The Chart House used to be my favorite restaurant in Annapolis. I have since moved away and was excited to visit on my trip back. All of their crab is now backfinn. No more jumbo lump. For the price and location being in Maryland, this is very disappointing. I will not be back.
Waitress was pushy and impatient. It was my friends first visit and they wanted to spend time reviewing and discussing the options.
Food was very good.
Always have loved this place - never had a bad experience once and we only come on special occasions as it's a bit out of our normal budget. Brought a friend for her birthday last night. Service was deplorable. Took us 30 minutes to finally get water, bread, a drink order, and place settings all correct. When we sat down it was not remotely busy (5:30 reservation) and there was obvious confusion as to which of the staff had our table (which was awesome right on the water). The chaos just continued with different staff coming and going saying they would get us water, bread etc and someone different ultimately showed up with it. Our appetizer orders came before we got a cocktail - again it was not busy.
Even if our server was in training - Chart House should never let this happen. Very disappointed. We requested a birthday cake/candle and that never happened either - our server asked if we wanted any dessert instead so he had no clue about our request. We skipped it altogether. The food itself wasn't up to par as well. Birthday gal had the NY strip at $39 - about half of it was gristle. I had a variety of appetizers including the 3 soup trio which was cold at delivery (one was supposed to be). The lobster spring rolls - what little lobster was in them was mushy and stale. Kim Chee calamari was soggy and seemed to be fried under correct temperature. Our water glasses ran empty more than once and our server was often no where to be found for lengths of time.
Just 100% unacceptable for a $150 evening. We'll come back - but Chart House cannot possibly want this to be our experience or anyone's experience. You dine at a place like this so it is a guarantee you won't have this experience! And once it starts you are in a hard place to start complaining - ruins the entire 'chill' of being out in the first place....
A great setting for a family gathering for special occasion.
Food was good. But I feel like because my girlfriend and I are young, we were profiled by the waitress. As if because we were young we wouldn’t tip well. It really made me feel bad because I always tip well and I make enough money as a young professional to do so.
Excellent food, drinks and exceptional service. The staff is friendly, attentative and provide selective recommendations based on personal interest and preferences. Superb choice for a casual evening out.
Great atmosphere and we had a nice table on the window. Largest complaint was the music. Really annoying music and too loud. Good service though and good crab cake appetizer. Lava cake is delicious too.
Always like view and service. Very disappointed in crab cake dinner. I think the preparation is different. Crab meat not the same as a few months back. Snapper Hemingway was great as usual.
We met friends at Chart House one evening last month and the restaurant bar quickly made an impression on my wife and me. We said to our friends we have to come back for dinner and more drinks in the future and arranged to meet again this past Friday. Dinner at the restaurant was ok overall. Entree’s and drink were acceptable. Not the worst fish I have had but not the best. I’ll pass on dining at the restaurant but thoroughly looking forward to returning to the bar later this month.
