   We love Cheesetique! The goat cheese and arugula salad is truly to die for— especially when you add steak (which is their signature shaved, Philly cheesesteak version). I dream about it. Service is always fantastic, and everyone from my out-of-town girlfriends to my hard-to-please husband and toddler love it. You won’t regret giving this local gem a try.

   We entertained an out of town visitor. Lovely environment and excellent service. Food and drinks were perfect. At the end of the night, we picked up a few cheese items to take home.

   We had a table in the “wine cellar” section and it was perfect. Our servers were excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. It was a family get-together for brunch and all of us enjoyed our food. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a treat! Will try it again for lunch

   We had a wonderful time! There was one hiccup in which one persons meal wasn’t delivered with the rest of the party, but they corrected that quickly and made it up to us. I will definitely be back, Yum!

   Disappointed that brunch lasts until 4:00 PM. ??? We drove a long way to eat (6 hours) there but were unable to get what we wanted due to a limited brunch menu which pretty much lasted all day. We wanted to eat tater tot poutine. We made the best of it and ordered a sandwich which was tasty but pricey. The server was amazing and apologized that our selection was unavailable.

   The meal itself was a nice concept. Did not think the original wine to go with the cheese plate was the right choice for the pairing. The bread on the cheese and charcuterie platter had been sliced in advance and left in the frig with the platter, and it was stone cold. Everything felt rushed, and we were gone in less than one hour, start to finish. People were wisking away glasses and items before we finished them or not asking if we needed a small plate, another napkin, etc. Never were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We were early for our reservation, waited on others to be seated, but if everybody wants to leave so soon, don't make it so obvious. Kitchen was looking out and complaining about which was their last table, too, very obvious. Not what we have come to expect from Cheesetique in the past, for sure. It wasn't that busy when we were there, either. Main course was good but way, way too much sauce on the gnocchi and not enough zest or flavor, just like a soupy cheese goo. Dessert was better but did not need the large amount of sauce on the flourless chocolate cake. Could have been better, for sure.

   Everything at Cheesetique was perfect from start to finish. Our greater was very welcoming and chose a lovely table for us. Our server was thoughtful and helpful without being overbearing. The menu was creative and everything sounded delicious. The food we chose was cooked to perfection. This is a great place for a casual lunch or a special date night. Check it out!

    Popped in for lunch at the counter. Great time and sandwich-grown up grilled cheese- was fantastic. Each had a glass of wine and shared cheesecake for dessert. Wait staff was great as always.

    Great live music! Great food! My husband loved the Raclette! The French Onion Press was delicious and my friend loved her lasagna.

    While we have been to Cheesetique many times and have ALWAYS enjoyed them thoroughly, this time we left disappointed and would like to think it was an off day for them and for us. It was Restaurant Week. My entree was the shrimp and grits in a heavy bloody mary sauce. The shrimp was fully clothed requiring me to dig into the sauce to retrieve the shrimp and peel and discard the shells on the edge of my dish leaving unsightly "residue" on my fingers and fork. The grit cakes were almost uneatable (to me) more like a piece of toast than fluffy grits. Grit cakes were new to me so perhaps this is what grit cakes are supposed to taste like. The dessert that I ordered was not available but that revelation came after I had finished the first two courses; the other desserts did not appeal. To the restaurant's good credit, they reduced our bill appropriately. In summary, we will try Cheesetique again and expect our future experience to live up to our original enjoyment of this unique restaurant. We have no hesitation in recommending Cheesetique to friends but will reserve comment until we try once again.

    This was a disappointing dining experience, despite the cozy setting. The food was not bad but just lackluster, there was nothing really tasty or well seasoned, and the staff were interpersonally odd, bordering on surly. For example I asked what the grilled cheese of the moment was and the server said I needed to use the QR code to look up the specials. He knew, he just wasn't going to tell me, because I said, "you can't just tell me?" And he did. Another server delivered our food and asked if we needed him to "do any other favors" for us. Huh? Favors? There were also 10 people taking turns using a saber to open champagne bottles at the front of the restaurant which was decidedly distracting although the group certainly seemed to be having a big time. I won't be back.

    Great place for brunch. I’ve eaten here before but for the first time I was seated in a quiet back room. Food was amazing, as always. Service was great.

    We booked lunch on a Sat. At 1 pm. We got a nice 4 top, but it was a long time before our server dropped by. And then it was a long time before the bottle of wine we ordered made it to the table. And then a long time before our food made it to the table. We very much appreciated the friendliness of of our server, but the service itself was not very attentive.

    Our group of 7 sat right across from the bar. Our server, the bartender, was great! The wines were absolutely delicious - we did a few bottles of the Malbec and a few of the Pinot Noir. The best part of the meal besides the wine 🤣 were the cheese boards. Cheesetique has the most delicious cheeses! Let your server select them for you and I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed. For my entree, i got the shrimp & Caesar salad and it was just ok. I would try something different next time like one of their grilled cheese sandwiches. Thank you for the great experience Cheesetique!

    Brunch Frittata I love Cheesetique and until this morning the food was always excellent. Today I ordered the frittata. It was dry and tasteless. I told my waitress when she asked and she offered to ask the chef if there was a sauce that might help. She returned with some mozzarella balls that were so mild they added nothing. My companion had the blueberry pancakes and rated them very good. Staff was wonderful and the prices are very reasonable.

    I love this restaurant. My only constructive criticism is that the speed of service can be improved. Regardless of the number of people seated, it always takes forever to receive my food. That being said, the consistently excellent quality of my meal, along with great atmosphere for relaxing or catching up with friends brings me back.

    Good wine list and menu. Service is always a little rough. Even after making a reservation, we had to wait over a half hour for our table at the seats by the door because the host staff had given the available table to a walk-in. Apparently, the reservations are set for a section of tables or specific tables (that is what we were told), and the group at the table we were assigned to had not left yet (no one's fault), but giving an available table to a walk-in group at a time when there is a reservation is an odd practice. What is the point of reserving a table? Our server last night was very friendly, but he was the only one on the floor. That has been my experience any time i have gone to the Cheesetique in Del Ray. One or two servers (or one server and someone behind the bar). The food comes out in a timely manner, but water refills or drink orders take a while. I had an old fashioned that, for some reason, was served in a glass full of ice that had almost entirely melted by the time it arrived at the table. First, please stop putting a ton of cubes in old fashioneds. Second, if you insist on doing it, get the drink out before it becomes some bitters that walked through a puddle on stilts. I keep giving this place a shot because I like cheese and wine (who doesn't) and want to support a local business, but I am going to forego any more trips to the Del Ray location. There are plenty of other wine and charcuterie bars in Alexandria and DC. I'll give Shirlington a shot, but I think it is time for us to part ways with Del Ray.

    This is usually my go to place for group gatherings….but, I was really disappointed in my visit this time. I came with a group of friends. They were late with our appetizer (the appetizer came after we received our entrees), my order was incorrect and late and they didn’t offer to fix it, and the bread wasn’t toasted correctly…..I was just really disappointed.

    Seemed like there were some technical issues impacting service and some issues with new staff (hopefully it will resolve itself), but it looked like other staff could have helped—we sat for 20 minutes without being approached by wait staff but had communicated with hostess and yet no one bothered to get water or drink orders. Cheeseboard came out after entrees were finished. Like the expanded space, but probably contributes to the issues.
