   We do consider Chef Geoff’s one of our regular favorites but were disappointed by the service on Thursday. we had out of town guests and booked at 830pm. At 930pm they told us that no desserts were available (except ice cream), not even to go, and made it clear they were closing and we had to leave. Meantime there was still a party of people at the back. I understand there are work times constraints but maybe they could have offered dessert to go or let us know beforehand of the imminent kitchen closing.

   Good food even though one order was brought lukewarm. Service somewhat erratic. Staff cleaning tables and preparing to close (very early for a Friday night) while some clients still at their table.

   Terrific service - always reliable food - reasonable prices. Perhaps should not have ordered the Cadillac Salad (which was huge and delicious) “dressed” as it was perhaps a bit overdressed. Otherwise terrific meal and especially notable re friendly prompt service.

   Our server was great, considering it appeared he had the entire restaurant. Food was fine, not great, but not terrible either. I had the avocado toast, which really just tasted like the red onion from the pico on top. Both my companions had the Chinese chopped salad and neither one finished it.

   The menu options were not very attractive. I went with the scallops, while the scallops were great, the rest of the dish was an overwhelming pile of sliced peppers on a bed of rice. Not very flavorful or what I expected of the dish. My lady opted for the bacon cheese burger since the rest of the menu was not very appealing. The bacon nachos were the best thing we had, hard to mess that up though. Slow service, one person for an entire room with large tables on a Friday night. I will not be returning until the menu is updated. The space and location was phenomenal though, very elegant and cozy.

   Mr friend and I both had a spinach salad with fruit, nuts and salmon and they were delicious. Our waiter was quite nice and made sure we were happy with our lunch selection.

    Thank you Chef Geoff for accommodating our move to outside dining and for meeting our strict time constraint. Staff took time to turn on the heaters and were very responsive. Since one of our party tested positive for COVID the next day it was a great move to go outside.

    Solid restaurant. Interesting menu. Best item ordered was the Cauliflower steak, a good vegetarian dish. Bourbon salmon dish was good but pretty run of the mill. Fair prices. Had a good dessert…. Apple crumble with ice cream. You’ll get a decent meal here but unremarkable.

    All was enjoyable until we tried to exit the parking lot. The parking gate machine would not accept any credit card for payment of the $4.00 balance after the restaurant credit. I tried as did several other car owners. Moreover, the call button was of no help, since no one answered the call and the mailbox was full so no message was accepted. When I telephoned the restaurant for help, the response was of no help. After 15 more minutes, another car was entering the lot. My companion held the entry bar in the up position while 6 or 7 cars exited the entry lane. I was then able to exit the lot. I’m not sure I will return to this restaurant by car again. Herb Lerner

    Chef Geoff’s is a reliably pleasant dining experience. The menu is varied and creative, the prices are fair, and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. What’s not to love? You can pay a lot more in DC for a much less satisfying experience!

    I'm a regular at Chef Geoff's with several friends, all of whom like it because there is a wide variety to choose from on the menu. We were there on Sunday night which was the last night of the Winter Restaurant week. The waiter explained to us that the menu for restaurant week was still active ($40 for starter/main/dessert) but as we rarely do desserts we stuck to the main menu which has a wide variety of options. Normally we always get the pitta/hummus starter but as it was a miserable wet night we wanted to get right into some hot food. We both felt like pizzas so I went for the pepperoni pizza with arugula and my friend went for the mushroom pizza - we figured if we both got a different one we could share. Worth noting that the pepperoni is homemade at Chef Geoff's and is deliciously spicy and flavorsome. The pizzas came out hot and delicious - they are the perfect size if you are a) hungry and b) haven't had starters and will skip dessert. It's the only time I can ever eat a full CJ's pizza and I did just fine tonight. We swapped 2 slices of each pizza so I also got to try the mushroom with truffle which I'd never had before. I thought it was also delicious. We both had beers which went down great and while we did skip dessert, we saw about 5 different desserts going out to the table near us and each of them looked divine, especially the hot choc chip cookie with ice cream but all looks lovely. CJ's never lets you down on quality, value and taste so highly recommend it. I live 2 minutes away so will also admit to being a regular of the take away menu - food comes out roasting hot and its still hot when I hop home!! Its a great restaurant for all age groups and I often see families from small kids and pets to elderly grandparents there - love to see families eating together - its got the perfect feel for it while also catering to big game watchers all sitting at the bar eating burgers/fries and beers - great mix and the TV volumes are not intrusive.

    We are happy to have Chef Geoff’s in our neighborhood! It is above all consistently good. On Sat eve we ordered from the restaurant week menu and enjoyed both our starters and entrees. We each ordered a drink instead of dessert as permitted on the special. We had great service from a delightful young woman, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t retain. Want to also add that we have also enjoyed some of the restaurant’s carry out comfort meals that were started during the pandemic, and we appreciated owner’s efforts to make needed supplies available during shutdown times, as well as caring attitude to staff. Long may they thrive!

    We went for restaurant week brunch. One reason I chose this restaurant was because they had their whole menu available with some price upgrades. Between food and drinks everything was amazing! Our server was great had suggestions on her favorites and helped me make the decision on what I ordered. I started with the fried mozzarella, was wonderful. I had a bacon cheddar burger and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert I got the chocolate decadence to go. Such a great deal and I will be going back after that experience!

    We were fortunate that we had wonderful weather on the day of our lunch at Chef Geoff's and thus were able to eat outside, which is one of the special advantages of eating there. Their mushroom ravioli was really outstanding.

    I met two friends for lunch -- we all wound up having the salmon burger, which was delicious. The service was excellent -- waiter there when needed, but not hovering, and food came quickly. We were not rushed from our table, even though the restaurant had filled up by the time we left -- and since we had a lot of catching up to do we appreciated being able to continue our conversation.

    We have been going to Chef Geoff’s for years and have always had a great experience. However, the Southwest Eggs Benedict this visit were a huge miss. The sausage - or whatever it was - was crumbly and just tasted of salt and the cornbread was so dry, we couldn’t choke it down. We will go back but if this is on the menu again, we’ll definitely avoid it. Bring back the Eggs Parisian!

    We went for brunch. Our server was awesome! Food was ok, good but nothing special. The apple bread was the star. The space is just blah. Felt like the kind of hotel space you'd find in a small college town. Prices were fair.

    Improved over other times. The salmons burger was excellent. Tasted freshly grounded and seasoned rather than processed. Would order again. Table mate was satisfied with her fish tacos Staff was attentive but not intrusive. It was an enjoyable lunch.

    The food is always delicious, and the service is outstanding. Our server overheard me wish my guest "happy birthday," and at the end of the meal he added a festive sparkler to our dessert without any request from me. Another time, we were seated outdoors and it started to rain. Our server helped us carry all our food inside even though he got drenched. Chef Geoff's must treat their staff well because they always convey that attitude to the customers. Great job, CG!

    Ooof. This restaurant is tired. It's pretty hard to mess up a salad. The asian salad is served with raw broken up ramen noodles that almost broke my teeth. The fillet with fries looked like meat on top of something our pup leaves behind. The drink order was messed up and sent back and the bartender sent the same drink back like we wouldn't know. The salmon looked like something out of a kids meal or from frozen costco. Not sure I've ever left a written review before but been going here for years and it was awful. Server was sweet but inconsistent. Hostess literally didn't look up at us until we had to ask her to. What in the world is going on at CG?
