Welcome to our playground, where we deliver only the freshest local ingredients to our guests. Our dishes are specially crafted with creativity and passion by our talented chefs.
Head Chef and Owner, Gordon Wu, wanted "to treat [his restaurant] like a playground more than a work place”. A place where a Chef can play and really have fun creating food was born. Not only does everyone enjoy their meals, Chefs get to enjoy the creation process.

I wasn't good as recomend by all. The steak was dry and the cabbages slade was too salty. Overall, I don't want to go back.

The food is always delicious, with a well thought out unique menu. Fresh ingredients, hot from the kitchen and very good service. The Chef takes his menu to heart as does his server/bartender. We have eaten here several times and always come away having enjoyed our meals.

A great little find in Steveston and the BEST burger. Ok awesome fries also, order the gravy on the side. Had the brussel sprouts, cauliflower and crispy onions appie, its the only way to eat brussel sprouts hah.

Friendly people who want to please, a very talented chef, great value. Go.

We went to Chef's Playground on a Sunday night for dinner. The appetizers, burgers and steak were all top notch. The server and chef were both very attentive during the meal. Will certainly go back again for brunch.

Great local eatery in Steveston. The chef is very accommodating if you have any dietary restrictions.
The price point is great for the quality of food. I don't eat meat so will ask the chef for a tofu burger
which is very tasty. Great fries, lavender lemonade, soup, etc.
Definitely worth trying!!

Made and confirmed a reservation at 7:45 tonight. Arrived at 7:47 to find the kitchen has closed and staff have finished cleaning up the place. I drove 20 minutes to a closed restaurant....

This is actually not the first time I've had similar issues. I called ahead of time to make sure they were still serving brunch. The person on the phone confirmed that they are so I made that 20 min drive to steveston village. Only to be turned away by one of the server's telling me they ran out of food ONE HOUR before end of service!!

Always a delicious meal at Chef’s playground! I’ve eaten here several times now and enjoy bringing friends to try the menu. We tried the seasonal spot prawn bisque as well as the usual favorites like duck drumettes and brussel sprouts. Service is excellent as well.

Simply amazing. Chef Gordon and Mixologist Spencer put together a great Valentine's menu for my fiancée and I. The food was amazing, the service was incredible, and the drinks were superb. On top of this, Spencer and Gordon both gave such wonderful, personal service that by the time we left we felt more like they were old friends than people we'd just met a few hours before. On top of this, they were very accommodating of our dietary needs (one person with gluten intolerance, the other a vegetarian) and made sure that not only could we eat everything, but that we had enough info to match our order to our palates.

We had to leave before we had a chance to try the dessert, but with everything else being so amazing, we're definitely planning to come back and give it a go!
