Great for breakfast and lunch. Baked Egg was delicious and flavorful. Historical ambience in the room.
second time, excellent innovative food, outstanding staff and management, great for pre symphony dinner
This is a totally cool place to visit. Wow.
A lot to do and experience here.
The lamb was simply amazing, the food was great, we also had the Halibut which was amazing really, they altered it to our liking and they were flexible.
Very dark when we entered at 5:30 and then they dimmed the lights even more!
We absolutely love this restaurant! They helped make our anniversary a special time. Food was terrific, service attentive and the table made drinks fantastic. We had a charming booth and truly lived a this little speak easy experience.
We’ll be back.
One of my favorite restaurants is the Cherry Circle Room... On this night there was a delay and our waitress didn’t get to our table as fast as our past visits. But it was off to the races after that and she was very nice.
The food was delicious and the staff very accommodating.
Our Mothers Day Dinner was a Hit! Fun for the entire family!
The food and service were extraordinary, as always. We brought friends who especially enjoyed the ambiance of the beautifully restored dining room.
The food is decent and the room is beautiful. The problem is confused, erratic, chaotic and occasionally rude service.
Food was very good, except for the deconstructed carrot cake. The service was very very spotty,The restaurant needs to re train the service staff on service!
We loved the experience. The food was great. Our waiter was a true professional and very kind and attentive. The pastry cart was amazing. The value was great. My only suggestion is that the homemade chips could use a little work, they were a bit over cooked in what seemed like maybe old oil? Again, we loved the atmosphere, staff and food! 5 stars in my opinion.
Sat at the bar! I like the place, but both times I booked through Open Table at the CCR I felt like they fit us in. It was a nice place and good food, but probably will not go back. Many other options in Chicago where you feel welcome, not an add on.
We went on Sunday for Mother’s Day and Pre Graduation Brunch! We had a wonderful time. The ambiance
And decor is so cool and reminiscent of years ago. The meals were all delicious and especially the fresh
Homemade Pastries. Our Server was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and space we
Were in, as well as knowledgeable about the food. The food was delicious, served hot and the order came out timely
And perfectly! We would all eat there again. Can not say
Enough good things about this restaurant/food/ and our server - sorry did not get the name!
Food great service slow.
It's like walking into diagon alley. Magically beautiful and absolutely amazing food! I had a pork shoulder that my fork glided into. Melted in my mouth. Best mashed potatoes I've had in my life. Creme brulee to die for.
Our dinner was incredible from start to finish. Our only regret is that we had to leave before we could enjoy dessert in order to make the start of a CSO performance. Special shout out to the complimentary toast for our anniversary and the attentive wait staff that made sure we made our concert on time.
We expected something a little more elegant. Entered the building thru the lobby and were a little surprise to see a makeshift bar in what once was a beautiful classical entrance. Upon entering the 2nd floor we encountered the Gameroom, another bar. We were directed to the restaurant and seated near the bar. Beautiful old art deco room. Service was great, food was great but most of the patrons were in jeans and tee shirts. Not what I expected for the price of the meal. Thought it was something a little more elegant. Probably wouldn't go back because the ambiance didn't fit the prices.
Really warm atmosphere. Great service. Food was excellent.
Between the breathtaking interior design and the extremely tasty and creative food, this was a wonderful experience.
We had a great lunch at the Cherry Circle Room. The room itself is gorgeous and historic, with a warm, old-timey feel. The food was really good, and the drinks were excellent. Our server, Tom was truly great - funny, knowledgable, efficient, and effortless. Rare to get such great service, in such a unique environment. Highly recommended.
The restaurant was noisy dark and the food mediocre. Way too much money for the less than stellar quality. I had the duck and it was tough and served in two hunks not like the picture. The halibut was a tiny portion. The Oysters were off.
The service was attentive.
We've been here many times, but this was the first time that the service was a bit uneven and not coordinated (the cocktail server took an order from us and so did our waitress and we ended up with two orders of the same three appetizers--and the food server looked at our table and saw the exact three appetizers sitting there and proceeded to set down three more). The French Onion Soup was also a little bland. Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday or just an off night. We love this place and will go back, but maybe not on a Sunday.
Love the ambiance. Drinks tasted great and the food was delicious. Try the muscles!
My sisters birthday. We were treated with a complimentary glass of champagne. Very dark inside- no windows. Staff was nice.
This restaurant is in the former "gentlemen's dining room" in the historic Chicago Athletic Association building. I loved the ambiance. If you drink alcohol, you must try their creative, unconventional cocktails. I wanted to try them all but settled on the September Morn. The beet salad was pretty and fresh, and a friend of mine and I split the O.G. steak (20 oz) - perfectly cooked and seasoned, served with bearnaise sauce, plus we had an order of mashed potatoes. There was a good selection of beers and wines by the glass. For dessert, we had the chocolate crême brulée, which was to die for. The service is usually quite good based on past experience, but this last time it was slow initially. I think it was probably just a hiccup, because once we got to see our server, he was very contrite, and the service was good after that. I plan to go back, and I definitely recommend the place to others.
Great spot to meet with a customer for lunch. Quiet enough for conversation, comfortable booths. Attentive service. The menu has very good variety, comfort food to curious food. The duck confit and the brussel sprout slaw were both excellent. I will be back for another business lunch.
We went here to celebrate an anniversary. When we arrived, they seated us at a special, secluded, private, romantic table. They put inserts into the menu that said "Happy Anniversary" and "Thank you for celebrating with us." It was such a nice touch that was so easy, but very much appreciated. All of the food was delicious, about 6 people came over to wish us a happy anniversary, and we were given a complimentary champagne toast. Our server was wonderful - knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this place again.
We have wanted to visit the Cherry Circle Room for some time because of our architectural interest in the Chicago Athletic Club, which is now a hotel and this restaurant is within the hotel. However, dinners were priced high and we just didn't want to spend that much. Instead, we visited for Sunday brunch. The room was still architecturally interesting but I was not impressed overall with the restaurant and don't anticipate going back.
For lunch/brunch, the menu is somewhat limited. My husband ordered a basic eggs and bacon meal. The bread came out as dry toast with "tomato jelly" (looked like ketchup to me). He had to ask for butter, and the only jelly available was raspberry. I ordered a beef sandwich. It looked great but was too salty, and the waffle chips that accompanied it were on the stale side. My cappuccino was just warm, not hot.
The servers were pleasant enough though they seemed to have a lot of tables.
Bottom line - for the price, I expected better.
Food and staff were great. Highly recommend for a special date
I took my grand son to Chicago for a long weekend to visit museums and attend Hamilton, the play. We dined at the Cherry Circle Room on Saturday night. The chateaubriand was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Jamie, our waitress, was very helpful and attentive. I recommend that you make reservations well ahead of time as it was very full.
We were in Chicago on a business/pleasure trip. This venue is amazing! Food awesome. Sit at the bar and visit with the bartenders. They are knowledgeable and make the experience THE BEST.
Excellent fish and chips and gin fizz. Can’t wait to go back.
Cherry Circle Room was a great way to celebrate my birthday. Great service and amazing food.
I love this place. Brought some colleagues since we typically dine at a steakhouse for business. This was a nice change in venue, style and food offerings. Our server, Jamie, was extremely professional, flexible, attentive and knowledgeable. It was a perfect evening!
Everything was stunning, as always! Thank you again!
The pleasures of this landmark, well-restored building are inviting from the moment one comes through the door. There was a momentary mix-up about our reservation upon our arrival at the beautiful Cherry Circle Room, but it was quickly resolved and we were seated at a table immediately where we could easily hear each other. The wait staff was friendly, well-informed and very attentive without hovering. Coffee/tea came immediately and our breakfast choices arrived very quickly. The portions of absolutely delicious food were of a perfect size --filling without sending us forth into the morning feeling over-stuffed. This was a perfect choice for breakfast before a visit to the Art Institute, almost directly across the street.
Sat at the bar, great service, great food overall very pleasant experience. The overall ambiance is unique an a throw back to better times.
Sad we didn’t get the TLC for a major milestone bday, definitely disappointing.
The best part of the experience was the bartender, knowledgeable and gregarious, once I engaged him with the right questions. Ambience of the place is intriguing. What had been an enclave for the wealthy men of Chicago is now filled with the "rest of us." A bit noisy but lively. Food excellent (disappointed in the octopus but the sturgeon OMG); excellent wine list. People next to me were there just for the champagne.
