Our experience at Chez Sami was a very enjoyable one. The atmosphere is great, quiet and allowed for covnersation without shouting. The food was exccellant as was the service. The menu choices are excellant and the opportunity to either order form the menu or the prix fixe menu is great.. The rack of lamb was tender and prepared perfectly as was the Prix Fixe with the petite filet. Our second visit and certainly not our last.

Chez Sami is one of our most favorite places to dine! This is a must for anyone living/traveling in Lubbock/surrounding communities. Chef Walter is a true culinary genius! You can tell he cooks with passion and love!

It is quiet and intimate. We went right when they opened; I recommend this if you want some alone time with your partner. We had the prixe fixe, which was delicious. The main entree was a surf and turf paired with some asparagus and pan seared potatoes. It was all very delicious. I recommend coffee with your dessert!

👍 We have lived in Paris and enjoyed the French restaurants. So to find a French one here was very enjoyable. Don’t let the outside fool you it’s much nicer inside. I had the scallops and my spouse had the lamb chops. Oh we started with the onion soup. Meal was excellent. Waitress friendly and gave us good advice and service. Small dining area so recommend you have a reservation.

This was our first visit to Chez Sami for dinner and we will definitely be back. The serving staff was friendly and efficient, checking on us several times throughout the meal. The food was delicious and very nicely plated. We ordered the escargot and charcuterie plate to start with. Both were yummy. The only feedback we have is maybe include more variety of meats and cheeses for the charcuterie. (There were only two of each.) For the main course, we had the duck confit and beef wellington - both quite yummy. The mashed potato that came with the duck was so creamy! Our only complaint is really not about the food but the lighting or rather, the lack of it. Besides the kitchen (??), the only real source of light was at the back of the dining room and the curtains at the front of the room were drawn closed. We were seated in the middle of the room, next to a wall. By the time the main course arrived, it was sunset already and a bit dark to eat by just ambient light from the back of the room. For example, the roasted duck and the dark sauce it was in just sort of looked like a dark brown blob. My husband noted he couldn’t really see my face because I was backlit. We saw fluorescent light fixtures on the ceiling but the bulbs had been removed. Perhaps the proprietor would consider sconces or a lamp at each table. Otherwise, this was a pleasant experience and we plan to be back.

This was our 3rd time out to chez Sami and the food has been outstanding every time! This time unfortunately the service wasn’t great. Shortly after we arrived the waitress took out drink orders followed by the appetizer order. About 5-10 minutes later the waiter came to take our order for the entrees. After 45 mins passing with very little service to see how we were doing we continued to patiently wait. Closed up to waiting an hour we noticed another table that ordered after us had received their appetizers so I asked our waiter and he went to find out. Turned out the waitress was new and did not turn in our appetizer. They offered to get it made quickly but we were starving at this point so we opted for our entrees to be out shortly after. It was just disappointing because we were looking forward to trying the chefs selection of hors d'oeuvres. The entrees were delicious and the cream brûlée was awesome as always.

Who knew you could have a superb French meal in Lubbock Texas. Chez Sami has surpassed our favorite French restaurant in Dallas. The complexity of the watermelon salad and the croquet monsieur were on the level of a Michelin star restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Where else can you get Beef Wellington these days? And it was fantastic!!! As others have said, the outside of the place is underwhelming, but the ambiance inside is great, the food is fantastic, and service was really good. Everyone in our party of six loved their food as well. We all agreed we will be back!!!

The service and the food at Chez Sami's are excellent. However, the ambience is somewhat lacking. It is located in what must have been a diner in the 1950's. The kitchen is not well separated from the dining area (somewhat like a diner in the 1950's). It is quite visible as you enter. They have done what they can to add a little charm, but the building is what it is. In the Texas summer, it is probably impossible to cool down the interior, especially with the open kitchen. I hope that they do well enough financially to relocate to a venue more appropriate to the quality of the food. We will return later in the year when temperatures are not in the 100's, because the food really is excellent. I had the lobster thermidor and my husband had the beef Wellington.

Amazing flavorful food. The chef selection of hors d’oeuvres was great for the summer season. The beef Wellington was a perfect medium in the crust was excellent. The black berries and cream for dessert were the perfect finish.

We loved everything about our evening at Chez Sami! The service was friendly and attentive. The menu selection was so impressive it was hard to decide what to order. This is our favorite little getaway dinner spot, reminding us of romantic dinners at The Frenchman and Chez Suzette.

the service really didn't seem enthusiastic during the entire process. the food was okay, nothing outstanding with it. what i didn't appreciate was how other people kept staring at us while dining. it wasn't how i expected our night to go. glad to have experienced the place but wouldn't come back again.

This is a hidden gem in Wolfforth, TX. The exterior of the building doesn’t reflect the high class dining you experience inside. The service was superb and the food was divine. I will absolutely be going again.

My husband and I decided to try Chez Sami after numerous positive articles and reviews. He had beef bourguignon and I had Beef Wellington. His short rib was incredibly dry and the potatoes were too salty. The pastry on my Beef Wellington was gummy and undercooked; both meals were very cold. Our vegetables were stiff and my potatoes were chewy and burnt on one side. The tables were so close we felt like we were part of other people's conversations. Very disappointed, especially for the price. This experience did not live up to our expectations. Also, $20 fee to bring your own wine, and they did not have a wine chiller for our prosecco.
