Truly an outstanding and attentive dining experience. Dishes are balanced, creative and provocative. Truly a must visit
Best restaurant my wife and I have attended for a ling time. They adapted to my wife’s gluten and dairy intolerances with class.
This is a true little gem! I can't believe it's been 5 years and I had never been.
One of the best restaurants in Mtl in my opinion.
Excellent conseil vin.
Menu dégustation très raisonnable niveau prix.
Excellent food and service
Simply the best chef in town.
The food is very good. While the wines are very good, it would be helpful to have a bit more selection of wines between $50-100.
There for a business lunch. Service was courteous but expeditive, we had our appetizers in front of us and yet no one had asked if we wanted wine. Food was very good, however the concensus around the table was that the portions were quite small. After we left everyone mentioned they were still hungry.
Food is delicious but minimalist portions. Avoid if you are really hungry!
Overall good experience, unsure if will return though.
Food is good, service is excellent, will return for sure
Great experience of French cuisine and fine dining.
Amazing flavours, foie gras added to a chestnut velouté.
Amazing! The food and service were both exceptional.
As is ever the case at this wonderful restaurant the attention to detail is impressive. The speaker is hidden in a wall alcove, the hand soap isn’t some commercial product, and we haven’t even spoken about the beautiful and delicious food and drink. We almost never take photos of our food but we make an exception for Sophie’s delicacies. Well-curated wine list with options for most budgets. We will continue to choose Chez Sophie over other places for the warm reception and high standards throughout this establishment.
Lovely food. Wonderful staff. Great looking place. So clean!
For lunch or for dinner this is definitely one of my favorite fancy spots in Montreal. A must try
Very high quality cuisine :)
This was a fantastic experience. The wines were amazing. I had the black cod my wife the lobster ravioli. both were perfectly prepared.
Excellent food, excellent ambience and efficient friendly service.
One of the best restaurant we've been too. The food is incredible. The wine list is wow as well. Quiet place for a nice romantique dinner
It was a perfect experience !
As always, very refined menu and refined service. Sophie is always a fine experience.
Une cuisine exceptionnelle !
Les raviolis de homards méritent le détour
Tout parfait de l'entrée au dessert
Le pain perdu était un délice
GREAT WINE EXPERIENCE WITH THE WINE ACCORD AND DEGUSTATION MENU. skip THE FANCY DRINK AND ORDER A FINE WINE BOTTLE, REPEAT AT THE END OF THE MEAL WITH A CHEESE PLATE. NOT MUCH VEGGIES IN THE PLATE BUT IT SUIT ME PERFECTLY. DESSERT ARE NOT BAD EITHER
Wow!!! Perfect execution, high energy staff, outstanding presentation, inventive food without being over the top. In a word “Perfect”
What a great find. You will not be disappointed
Excellent from start to finish! Superb service and impeccable choice of ingredients and preparation methodology!
This is a wonderful, cozy little neighborhood restaurant. The menu is diverse and offers enough for everyone. Food is exceptional, every bite was delicious. The only disappointment was the dessert I was lookin forward to from the Opentable menu was not available, but the substitute might have been even better, so all good. Our waiter's service was impeccable - he seemed to know when to show up and when to leave us alone. We chose the tasting menu, and had a wonderful 4 course meal!
Les plats etaient aussi soignés que savoureux. Le service professionel, chaleureux et discret.
I've been to Chez Sophie for lunch and dinner and both experiences were wonderful. Service is very welcoming. I don't speak French yet the wait staff were very accommodating and explained food and wine menu in English. Plating is modern and inventive and flavors are on point. The beef bourguignon, perfect egg, and miso cod were particularly memorable dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant for casual gatherings as well as special occasions.
A beautiful meal to celebrate our first anniversary! We returned to Montreal because we got engaged in the city in 2015. We didn't do a tasting menu the first time we visited the city, so we returned to go all out, and Chez Sophie didn't disappoint in the least!
A casual atmosphere, caring and attentive staff, and a delicious menu that is both classic and inspired. The wines are superb, and I'd highly recommend doing the tasting with dinner. It is the perfect place to go if you're looking for a tasting menu that leaves you full in mind and body, and gives you the perfect blend of new and old.
loud accostics ,small portions , expensive décor plain
My wife and I have traveled extensively over the years and we have dined in over 50 Michelin 3 star restaurants some of them many times. The cuisine and service at Chez Sophie is on Par or better than many of them.Wonderful .B&K
Fantastic service and excellent food. Nice atmosphere, quiet, but not uncomfortably so. We were still able to have a leisurely discussion without feeling disruptive. The staff was professional, yet helpful and kind. Absolutely worth a visit.
Nice ambiance, great drinks (get the gimlet!!). Had the tasting menu which was quite nice, but not exceptional. Some really nice items (lemon oil ceviche, duck roll bites, beef cheek), value ok. Great service.
A very good restaurant, though my expectations were slightly overhyped by previous reviews. At the time of our dinner, the ratings had this restaurant at 4.6 stars, one of the highest ratings in all of Montreal. I found several of the dishes, while good, did not quite meet the level implied by such a high rating. It was notable that the four-course tasting menu (CAD$80) and accompanying wine flight (CAD$45) were a good value. Total for four tasting menus, including two drinks and one wine flight was around CAD$500. I would happily eat here again.
