Loved it! Shaken beef was out of this world and the rolls and eggplant too, the servers recommended one appetizer and one entree dish which we found to be a great amount plus a little more if you really wanted their dessert, which are fabulous btw, all homemade.
Outstanding! Will be back with friends and family very shortly.
Love the food and service, quite different from your average Vietnamese restaurant in all of the best ways. Loved the food and lunch was spectacular. Pho was nice and rich and the tofu bowl was out of this world. Will be back with a bigger party! Which is also great for this restaruant as well.
Great wine list and selection, make sure you ask about wines on their reserve list, they have many of them. Great food as well as they accompany the wine very nicely. Will be back.
Great atmosphere and drinks! Asked our server to make us an Old-Fashioned and a Mojito both turned out surprisingly really good! Loved it will be back
Great service, outstanding atmosphere, worth every penny.
Loved it, great flavors, awesome decor and service.
Astounding food and fair price! Love everything about this place and the service was top notch too, will be back soon. Was reading a couple reviews below as well and a lof of them seem to not know what they're talking about. But oh well I guess they're better off eating lesser quality food with a lesser atmosphere and service. Will be back soon.
Had lunch there the other day and was amazed by the quality of the food and decent price of the food! Way cheaper than Maenam or fable for way better ingredients, don't mind paying a couple dollars more for Vietnamese cuisine with such great everything.
Outstanding food and Service! will be back soon, lovely atmosphere and great wine list too. We ordered a bottle of the Pinot noir and had it served alongside the Duck Rolls, Shaken beef and Chicken claypot. Great Combo! Will be back shortly.
Great food and service! Came in on Tuesday and the place was nice and vibrant! They have a beautiful place with a gorgeous patio seating arrangement and we loved the rolls, shaken beef, fried rice and the sablefish claypot. Will be back soon and I highly recommend this place.
Nice atmosphere and good food, highly reccomend :)
Food was amazing. I don't understand why everyone keeps complaining about the price, the food is locally sourced and line caught and free range. People should seriously be getting a life, if you want cheap Vietnamese food there are many places on Kingsway which will suit your needs with dirty washrooms, poor service and not in a great neighbourhood. Hate seeing a restaurant like this being put down but I had to get that out there. Will be back with my wife shortly to enjoy more innovative Vietnamese cuisine!
Dined here by myself on a Tuesday. Service was very personable and I loved the food. Great find and one of the best restaurants in Kits
The food here is definitely very tasty but the service is absolutely atrocious. We had a table for 4. My partner and I arrived later than the first 2 guests. The waitress did not come over to welcome us or take an order for 20-30 minutes. She eventually came over as she was prompted to do so and even then didn't think to ask us for our drink order. The restaurant was not busy so I dread to think what the service is like when it is! The food here is good but there are so many great options in Vancouver with far better service.
Amazing food. It was dinner time on a Saturday and the place doesn't particularly look busy. Food is outstanding and you can't find anywhere else. Price point is a little steep. service is shortstaffed (2 girls to cover the whole place). I hope they will work on getting more staff
Food is good. A bit pricey for what you get. Duck roll was pretty yummy. The sablefish claypot we ordered was a bit on the spicy side to my liking, bit too saucy and salty. I think they should state on the menu whether the dish is spicy or not. It'll help customer who doesn't like spicy food to know what they are getting. Coconut rice was too hard, not steamed well or it's been left out for awhile before it was served.
Food was tasty but portion sizes very small for the price. The service was good. Found this place to be more expensive than indicated on site.
The Sablefish Claypot was so good, we could order 2 more. The Sticky Tamarind Wings was a winner. Service was top notched.
The food and service was good, nice decor. The dishes were family style and while that was what we wanted, we felt the portions were extremely small for the price...
Appetizers were good. Entree's were lacking in value. Just didn't have either the volume or quality of ingredients one should expect from a $20 price tag. At the end of the day my dollar is better spent at several other fine Vancouver establishments.
Delicious shaken beef.
This was quite a pleasant surprise for us. The food was not what you’d expect in a Vietnamese restaurant but it was really yummy! Will be back.
Very good for a higher end Vietnamese food. We are just very spoiled with great Vietnamese food with great value in Vancouver. Good place for special occasions. Excellent service.
Fantastic food and lovely service. Will definitely be back.
Great meal with friends at Chi. The service was friendly, and the food was very good ... authentic yet creative. Not too heavy, with just the right amount of spice. Nice modern space. Highly recommended.
Incredible. Don’t miss this Master Chef Vietnam runner up’s incredible menu and flavours. We are incredibly lucky to have her in Vancouver. Wow. Anybody who has rated the food here as anything less than stellar, or deems it expensive, has no idea what great food is or the value of local, organic and superior ingredients.
We were one of two tables in the restaurant. The service was very slow . The food wasn't great it was ok.Very expensive & small portions wouldn't rush back
Excellent dinner as always. I have been here several times, and the food is always wonderful. I did the dine out menu. My friend and I shared the crispy duck spring rolls - probably the best spring rolls I've ever had, and the papaya salad. The papaya salad was very spicy. For our main courses we had a Kombocha coconut curry that was excellent, although the squash had fallen apart maybe a little too much and the tamarind prawns which were to die for. We both had a coconut/taro dessert that was also excellent. The only quibble I could have was the server did not check in to find out how we were liking our dishes. Other than that the service was good.
Lovely place to spend our wedding anniversary. Great food and service.
Tried the restaurant for the first time as part of Dine Out Vancouver. The interior is beautifully done and very modern. Loved it.
The food was interesting and a different take on Vietnamese offered elsewhere. It was good, but I can't say it was excellent. The best dishes for us were the curry chicken and the chi fried rice. Yummy!
Service was excellent especially the young man that greeted us, checked on us during our meal and who settled our bill. I would definitely recommend trying it out to see how you like it!
Overall, our entire dining experience was excellent! The service was amazing, and let’s not even begin on how delicious the food was! We tried the beef jerky papaya salad and the chicken breast curry. I will for sure come back to try out the lunch menu!
We are impressed with the foods. Very modern tasty Vietnamese fusion. Love it and would like to go back for sure.
Wonderful. The service was great. The food was amazingly delicious - exciting fusion of flavours. The beef jerky papaya salad was fabulous, with just the right amount of heat; carpaccio was very tasty though hard to discern wagyu beef; tamarind prawns were similarly scrumptious. I didn’t particularly take to coconut sticky rice and the desserts - latter ‘cause we were stuffed by then. And the background noise was low, allowing for unstressed dinner conversations. Excellent - will definitely be going back to try the fish.
They overcharge certain items, without stating clearly on the Dineout menu. Beware, 30$/person is not really 30$. The menu is pretty subpar if you have any dietary restrictions, they are not willing to make any accommodations.
Service is shockingly poor, the ambience and dessert were quite good.
We absolutely love Chi! The food is amazing. We've been there for date night, with the kids, and with friends. It’s our 12-year-old son’s favorite restaurant. It was his pick as to where to go out for his birthday.
Dishes had great flavours but we found them slightly oversalted. Favourite were the duck rolls, sable fish and braised pork belly. Prices are quite steep for the size of the sharing plates.
Great dining experience! Came here for both lunch and dinner and had an amazing time with both friends and family. Will be back soon and make sure you try the Shaken Beef, Claypots, and the to die for Wagyu Pho which is 100% bone broth and very very delicious. We love all the suggestions and the service was very accommodating and helpful as we have friends who were vegetarian dine here with us a few times.
We just came for the Dineout event too and they were very prompt and fast and friendly and we loved the dessert and the deal!
We have had to be here around 6-7 times. We originally came here for a dinner of two back in September of last year, and it was revolutionary to say the least. The food is way better than anything we had in Vietnam, and the waiters have been friendly and attentive. I love everything about this restaurant, and the ambiance is very nice.
On our last visit here, we ordered a blasted church Big Bang Theory red wine (great wine selection by the way) with our couple friends, and it tasted great, and it paired very nicely with the food.
Great place to dine for lunch and Dinner, we love this place and can't wait to come back!
Dined early at 5:00 p.m. with a party of five before attending a concert. We asked Chi Le, the owner and chef to choose dishes for us (but to include shaken beef, one of my favourites). Chi steamed a snapper that wasn't even on the menu and curried duck and yams was excellen. One couple was so impressed that they planned to book themselves with a party the following evening.
