Chiapparelli's - Baltimore
Dinner for 9 was outstanding! Everyone loved their dinner. Helen made the entire experience fantastic!!
Food was excellent and Helen was wonderful!
Excellent food and service. We were a group on 10 friends getting together for the Preakness and had a great time at Chiapparelli the night before race day !
Best salad, bread and pasta! Can’t be beat. Our favorite Little Italy restaurant. Shrimp Nicola is a great appetizer. Lasagna is a classic. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious as always. Chef Tim is fabulous. Ida is the nest waitress. Recommend the manicotti, drooling gnocchis and chicken Louis.
The food was amazing! Beautiful old building. Huge portions of food
A business client from Baltimore, knowing that I was born in Baltimore and visit family, recommended dining at Chiapparelli’s. My husband and I dined there on Mother’s Day for the first time.
We loved it. Shout-out/Kudos for Stacey, the Server. She is impressive, excelling at customer service with her knowledge and competence, and what I consider Baltimore hospitality.
The food was delicious. Kudos to the Chef. Recommend the Fried Calamari, Sausage with Peppers (Sausage was one of the two best we have tasted in our lifetimes.), Garlic Bread, Spaghetti Toscanini, the Lemon Cake (to die for; made by Stacey), and if you are so inclined, the Negroni. My husband is the chef in our family, and is particular about his food, and he thought this restaurant was a “find.” An additional plus? It is a family owned and operated restaurant. Highly recommend Chiapparelli’s.
All of this if it was frozen and not very tasty. My daughter got very sick that night.
Had a very nice meal at Chiaparelli’s. It was Mother's Day and was a little slow but Helen our waitress never forgot us. We had a delicious salad, garlic bread and Seafood Ravioli and Gnocchis with sauce. Everything tasted delicious as always. Love it here and have been coming to Chiaparelli’s for over 40 years.
This was our second visit and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The staff is outstanding and everyone made us feel so welcome. We all felt like we'd been invited to dinner at the Chiapparelli's house. The food was once again delicious and their Italian Sausage and peppers with garlic bread appetizer is to die for. I think our table ordered 3 sets in the end. Will definitely be going back.
Brings back all the feels of Little Italy back in the day with all the goodness of classic dishes done really well! Some other LIttle Italy restaurants could learn a thing or two from Chips and not rest on the name outside but the food inside.
A crowdpleaser with solid, reliable offerings and a couple of delightful surprises. The popularity of Chiapparelli's means the food is always fresh, bread is always on the table and happy people are all around you. Nice: the salads, dressed with a house speciality. Nothing unexpected, though: pasta, pasta and more pasta. Bring the family.
Mother’s Day. Service could have been better-more attentive.
Loved this restaurant. We met with a small group of friends for our annual dinner. Loved the vibe. You don’t have to whisper at your table like some places. Food was great and so was service. Service was consistent and is slow by design. They want you to stay and have a good time. Not trying to turn tables. The table is yours for the night. Loved it!!
Chips is an old reliable spot, good food, good service, convenient to get to, on the busiest corner in Little Italy. Salad is almostca meal in itself. Pleasant experience in old Baltimore
We were so excited to eat dinner here, but we were very disappointed by the way we were treated. When we arrived for our reservation, we were told that the restaurant is no longer using/acknowledging Open Table reservations. Though the dining room was empty, we were told that we could not sit there because it was only set up for parties of 5 or 7 (we were a party of 3). We were told to eat dinner at the bar. Very disappointing!
I would recommend to people
I ate in this restaurant when I was younger. The entree could have been hotter and the house salad could have additional ingredients in it. The salad dressing was bland. The place is not quality it was in 1980 when I visited here beforehand
We love Chiapparelli's! Our favorite in Little Italy. The hostess was so nice and accommodating ! She really made you feel welcome and with the old-time charm of Baltimore Restaurants which is so refreshing. I do have 2 comments which I hope you find helpful; the server we had served our salad (which I love) and a few minutes later our food. I did not even get to eat 1/2 of my salad. Also I ordered the Trio which was delicious except for the lasagna----there was only one noodle and it was real thick. Did not do the Lasagna justice. The Eggplant parmesan and Alfredo's were flawless.
We had the most delightful named Helen who was a real traditional Italian mother type
Veal Marsala was tender surrounded by succulent mushrooms in a rich sauce
The Chips salad is always a favorite and included with dinner which makes the meal a real value.
Menu posted outside was cheaper than inside menu. Our dinners we like double the price. We split meals but was disappointed in the amount received.
A fine choice for a meal in Little Italy!
My wife and I love this place and we frequently visit!
The place needs an update to the menu. Iceberg Lettuce in the famous Chips Salad? The dressing and cheese was really good. But Iceberg lettuce has zero taste and is tough on many peoples stomach. We ordered two different things. I had a chicken dish, the chicken was well coated and cooked perfectly. It was in an oily sauce that the chicken swam in. The crispiness was lost due to the incredible amount of sauce on the pan. My companion had a veal dish. Again was cooked correctly but it also swam in an oily sauce.
The side dish of spaghetti is also antiquated. Is this the sauce that launched Chipparelli's? It was so bland. No taste at all. It was like a sauce of just tomato puree. Really disappointing.
Service was good. Nice older lady who was pleasant and exactly what we would expect at an old Little Italy establishment.
A little bit of updating is necessary...the ambience and feel of the place harkens back to an earlier time, which is why we love Little Italy, but the food needs FLAVOR and some tweaking.
The entrees, apps, and desserts were AMAZING. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the salads (which ironically were the most famous thing on the menu) but overall, highly recommend.
The staff was friendly. The food was fresh and delicious! I've been here many times and I'll be back again soon!!
Service was ok. Waitress did not welcome us or check in after each course was served. The dinner salad was way to big and had to much dressing. Wine list was ok. Main entree was very good and very hot.
Amazing food, beautiful place, service a bit slow and a bit pricey. Overall it was really good.
Go for granny’s ravioli. Best, most tender I have ever had.
Great Restaurant and staff
We have had great service each time we have visited.
This is my favorite neighborhood authentic Italian restaurant in Baltimore. No salad compares to the Chiapparelli's salad.
Absolutely loved it! The staff were phenomenal and the food was superb! And we weren't rushed at all even though it was a busy Saturday night. Would absolutely recommend Chiapparelli's. Can't wait to return. Thank you!
Superb service and food. What a gem!!!
Very relaxed ambiance. Old traditional Italian food with wonderful flavors. The PEI muscles were in a wonderfully garlicky white wine sauce. Love the eggplant, lasagna, fetticini alfredo sampler. I requested veal francese, although it wasn't on the menu, and they were able to accommodate...yummy tender veal. Home made cannoli had a nice crunchy shell and tirimisu was not mushy, but firm and creamy.
Always a great meal and conversation at Chiapparelli’s!!
Going to see Fleetwood Mac after
The food is fantastic, especially the salad. Really enjoyed the tour of chiapparelii.
We decided to mix it up on this visit to little Italy and try Chiaparelli's for the first time. After a slow start, first contact with the waitress took almost 10 minutes, the experience improved greatly. The window seat we had was great. The staff was friendly. The food was really good from the calamari appetizer, to the simple but flavorful salad and entrees that were excellent and plentiful. The bread is the only thing we felt could use improvement, its served cold and just didn't seem very fresh. That's our only negative comment and in the end it kept us from overeating bread before our meals came.
We just love knowing that every time we go, the salad and bread will be the same great taste and consistently piled high and delicious. Always appreciate Helen’s advice on entrees! The Chicken Alfredo was full of grilled Chicken and the red clam sauce full of clams!
Outstanding as always
Good, somewhat generic, Italian food. Large portions and very good value. Had a nice neighborhood feel. Service was friendly and helpful. They handled our large party (separate checks) well. Definitely a good comfort food place. I would definitely go again.
