    This was our first time eating here and eating Cuban food other than a Cuban sandwich. We had the Cuban eggroll and it was yummy. First time eating yucca and we also had skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. All the food was amazing and our server had great recommendations and gave great service. We will go back

    Other than the rice very hard and the room temperature very hot, which they could not or would not make any cooler… were definitely going back. Food was excellent!

    I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. The steak was not good at all and the grass that I ordered over medium were runny and not edible. Will never go back.

    Cuban Sandwich is the best I've ever had - I can only eat one half at a time (the other half was great for breakfast) Cafe Cubano afterward- delicious! Husband had the Skirt Steak Chimichurri - super tender, great flavor - good size.

    Great date spot. Small, quiet restaurant providing excellent service and great food. Depending on how busy they are you can expect a 15 to 30 minute wait for your order, but it's well worth it. It meanwhile, the staff is very attentive to your needs. Our server Gigi on point, making sure we were taken care of. That said, normally my visits consists of two people, this time, there were five of us. The bill arrived and I was hit with %20 large party tax ($38) on top of the $200 for food. That threw me for a loop and will make me think twice before bring another large party. I will recommend Chicas to anyone but warn them of the party tax.

    Everytime we go to Chica's we have an amazing experience. The food is always delicious especially the steak with the chimichurri sauce. It is a wonderful place for cuban food in Deland

    We made our reservation on open table, arrived a few minutes early and they said they didn’t receive the reservation. I showed them the reservation on my phone but they said there is nothing they can do. We drive an hour to get there! We left and went somewhere else for dinner. Poor poor service. Extremely disappointed. Not sure we will be back.

    The biggest issue was that the host does not have access to the reservation system so we were fortunate to be able to get seated outside. Service was spotty, no check back on tables or anything. Food was a little slow but I think that's because it was prepared fresh, so not really an issue. Food was excellent in quality and quantity.

    I reserved through open table and also put that it was a birthday in the notes. No one seemed to know about it. They also said they didn’t have the tablet to check us into the open table app. I had been here before and was so excited because the service and food was delicious but this time we had no silverware and we ordered the lobster and it was explained as buttery on the menu and was very dry. So dry that it was difficult to get out of the shell! Another couple across from us saw us struggling and started laughing. The desserts were very good and the cappuccino was great and presented very pretty. I was disappointed. I hear they have a great brunch. Not sure but may give them a second chance to try it.

    I had my welcome back staff luncheon at Chicas. For many of my staff, it was our first experience with Chicas and it was a 5-star experience. The restaurant prepared a cozy area for my team. Chicas permitted us to call in our orders a day in advanced and as a result our meals came out quickly....hot....and exactly as we had ordered them! The taste and quality of the food was exceptional and delectable. The servers were friendly and visited our tables frequently meeting our needs. I highly recommend you visit Chicas. I plan to return! Chicas….thank you for the excellent service and enjoyable time provided to my staff. You truly went out of your way to make my team feel special and welcome! ¡Muchas gracias a todos por el cariño y excelente servicio!

    I invite my of of 50 years that lives in Deland and for the first time visiting the restaurant, we were impress with the ambiance for small place. The food was very good and I will probably return when I am in the area.

    We were promptly seated. Our server was quite attentive but not intrusive. We each opted for the plant based meals. They were delicious! My only complaint is that I asked for sparkling water and was served what tasted like tap water with minimal carbonation. Next time I’ll ask for club soda. Overall, we quite enjoyed our meal and plan to return.

    My family and I like this place very much. It’s the only one around here that has Cuban food that really tastes like Cuban food. We’re happy one can make reservations online because if not the wait is long. Unfortunately this time we went, even though we had reservations and they sat us on time, the food took over 45 minutes to get to out table. Everyone was very polite and apologetic about it but it makes it for a not very nice occasion.

    The service was good and attentive. The food was flavorful and nice quantity. The black beans & rice were combined and mashed and a bit dry . The plain white rice was dry as well . However rest was great. This was our second visit.

    Food was outstanding, the service was friendly and prompt. Server was very helpful in menu selection the only disappointment was lack of liquor license - no mojito - for us a staple with Cuban food. Had sangria instead and it was tasty but very weak

    The only reason I am glad that I don’t live near CHICAS is because I would eat here EVERYDAY! 1. Do yourself a favor and get the empanadas and Cuban egg rolls as an appetizer! The pink sauce that comes with the empanadas is SO YUMMY! Bistek, shrimp, their chimichurri sauce…all of it is delicious!

    Our waitress was phenomenal. Friendly, energetic and on the ball. Food was amazing. Brought my parents for their 49th wedding anniversary. My mom has dementia and dad is on hospice. Don't know if they will make 50 so I wanted to take them somewhere I knew they would enjoy. Did not disappoint. They loved it. Dinner was exceptional, favorite beer, cappuccino and flan for dessert. Perfect evening.

    Our waiter took our order and then we never saw him again until we were finished eating and had waited for 10 minutes or more. We saw him on the patio and tapped on the window to get his attention. When he finally came to our table (after ofinishing our meal), I said that we had been waiting for quite a while and he "smart assed" answered by saying "I'm just doing my job!" Well, if he HAD been doing his job, he would have checked on us at LEAST ONCE, so we wouldn't have had to ask another waiter for help to get 2 spoons and some hot sauce during our meal. He should have checked on us at least once during our meal. We didn't appreciate the way we were handled by him. He was young wearing a red bandana on his hair, which looked like it had small dread lock like styling to it. This all happened on May 13th and we got there around 5 p.m.
