Everything including the food was excellent. The only negative was that we felt rushed. Our meal came before we were done our starter and there was no room on the table for them so the serve stood there waiting for the plates and I felt pressured to give him them even tho we were not done. They shouldn’t put the meals out so quick as to make you feel rushed.
Our server Mackenzie was outstanding she made sure everything was perfect.

Have eaten here on a few occasions and every time the service has been excellent. The food was excellent- the trout with the pistachio crust is amazing. It’s pricey but you get what you pay for.
We were spoiled for our anniversary. The icing on the cake :)
Everything was delightful truly. Our server was amazing. I was a little disappointed in the cod. It looked and tasted like it was pre-packaged. But everything else was fabulous.
Very nice deco and atmosphere, super knowleable & friendly waiter, excellent choices of steaks.

Fun vibe with the upbeat, jouncy music. Comfortable seating. Tuna Tataki was buttery soft, and the Shrimp Linguini, with a tomato base was one of the best I've ever had. My girlfriend had the Avocado Super Bowl with salmon. Shy on the avocado (not so super) but lots of mixed greens. Definitely worth a re-visit.

I've eaten at The Chop on several occasions . The food is always excellent and normally the service is also excellent however on this particular night ( oct. 8th ) the service was lacking . We asked for water before our meal but never received any , we waited approx. 30 minutes for our drinks . Lastly we were not asked if we wanted dessert .
The waitress we had was very nice but was either new at her job or having a real bad shift . I watched her spill a tray of drinks on the table of the patrons next to us . It wasn't a pretty sight . I also observed another table in a heated discussion with one of the staff . I'm assuming they were probably complaining about the poor service .

As usual our experience was amazing, although the friends that joined us loved all the appetizers we ordered, but there weren’t fussy on her French onion soup felt it could of been better tasting and the presentation wasn’t the greatest and his burger was dry (the meat) Other than that we had an amazing night and it’s still my favourite restaurant 😍.

The restaurant was extremely busy and as such, everything took a very long time. It seemed as though they were very understaffed for a Saturday night. Food was served before cutlery arrived and it took a while to get. Drinks took a while, appies took a while. We had to remind a lot to bring things like the children's appetizer and their desserts, drinks etc. That being said, our server tried to make the best of it. She was very pleasant and energetic, and very apologetic. Her attitude helped make the experience more enjoyable.
Most of the food was delicious and was served hot, unfortunately I did not enjoy my steak. It was very fatty, hard to chew and lacked flavor. All in all even thought we were there for much longer than we planned, it was a pleasant evening.

Our server was excellent, unfortunately all of the food was cool, which was a shame, and we were directly beside the kitchen so no excuse. And "all" of the food includes the appi's (french onion soup, fries) and the main. It is a high end restaurant and nothing but the best should be guaranteed. We won't go back.

This was our 4th trip to Chop and was definitely one of our favorite spots. However the service this time was beyond bad. From the greeting at the door to the bill payment no seemed to know what they were doing. If this was my first trip it would be my last

After hearing from a few people how good this place was, we had reservations at Chop for tonight to celebrate our anniversary. All the food was really tasty... Except the steak. Both of our steaks (smoked ribeye and bone-in ribeye) were overcooked and burnt/charred on the outside. It wasn't because they were rushed or busy - the waitress even commented how quiet it was when we sat down. For a place that calls itself a steakhouse, this is extremely disappointing. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, however.
For the prices we paid, we could have (and should have) gone to our favourite steak restaurant, CUT Steakhouse. It wouldn't have cost much more and we would have got our money's worth.

The dining room of the restaurant has a lovely vibe - dimly lit tables with unique and delightful overhead lighting. Lovely painted ocean-scapes along the walls - you can tell some attention went into the feel of the restaurant.
Our server, Sherry, was very knowledgeable and kind. She had great recommendations that turned out to be as good as she promised (especially the lobster & scallop dip!) She answered our questions with ease and was a pleasure to speak with.
The food was better than expected. There are differing reviews online which made it hard to judge what kind of experience we would have. I was very pleased that the food, especially the steaks, were fantastic. I'd have given them 5 stars if it had not been for the cold sides to our steaks. You could tell that the star of the show definitely had the appropriate amount of attention devoted to it, but our veg and my cauliflower rice that accompanied my teak came to the table lukewarm at best, as if it'd be under a heat lamp for awhile.
That all said, the meal was reasonably priced when comparing to other steakhouses in the city, and the experience was very pleasant. Looking forward to returning to trying out something new.

Our steaks were not done as ordered. My steak was supposed to be medium came as medium well my wife steak was ordered as med well and came as well very dried out. We didn’t complain the waiter actually came to the table and apologized and want to give us another after I had eaten most of mine but my wife only had eaten less than a 1/4 of hers and left the remainder on her plate. They offered us free desert but we didn’t chose to have desert . They give us a card for a free appetizer next time back before the end of the year

We were in on a Tuesday night. I have no idea about the noise levels on a Friday or Sat night. The food is amazing. They really know how to cook meat. So tender you could cut it with a spoon. The steakbites were amazing. Prime rib perfectly cooked.

Great staff, good service, Steaks had great flavour but they where not cooked to our liking my porterhouse ordered medium was med rare at best and my wife’s fillet mignon ordered med well was well done and dry
We did enjoy our meals and but we will be sticking with the keg as there steaks are always done perfectly every time

Notwithstanding we were a party of 8 on a busy Saturday night, we waited 50 + mins after finishing our starters to receiving the entrees. However food was cooked to each persons perfection and was hot.
Was some confusion on the bills that needed rectifying - more than 1 pass at adjusting the bills.
Really excellent customer service; my reservation was originally for the lounge area (much noisier); staff found a table in the quieter dining area instead. Amazing food as well!

I cannot say enough good things about Chop Halifax. Our experience was wonderful. The food was outstanding the service was great. The wine choices were extensive. Even the room temperature was perfect. So often you go to a restaurant and it's either too hot or too cool. The dining room had a quiet ambience and our food and drinks arrived in short order. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it.
