Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender.     Just visited chop for our anniversary supper, we can not say enough good about our experience, from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. Reese was our server, she was absolutely amazing, great sense of humour, kind, whole hearted, easy to talk too and had great knowledge of both the wine and dinner menu. The food was incredible. Very, very reasonably priced, possibly underpriced! Will definitely be visiting again when we are back in Halifax again. Thanks again to the staff for the hand signed anniversary card.

    Very nice atmosphere. Ordered the large prime rib and I just wish it was a bit less cooked and came a bit more rare. My girlfriend loved the drinks and appetizers were pretty good. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants in Halifax. Thanks Chop I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city.

    My husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding Ann. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a Happy Anniversary. Our waitress was amazing! Very attentive and personable. The kitchen staff signed a card for us and gave us a free appetizer next time we visit. Absolutely highly recommend. Only recommendation I would have would be to lower the music in the dining room. Disco/retro music got a bit annoying by end of dinner.

    There were four of us. The appetizers were great and the three other meals were great. I ordered my steak and shrimp and steak was ordered medium rare. It tasted good but was very hard to chew and had tendons running through it. I could only eat some of it. That never normally happens when I go to a steak restaurant so was surprised. I didn’t want to say anything there because we were with another couple and I don’t like complaining. Having said that I think it is good for the staff to know.

    Samantha, our waitress was absolutely fantastic, the service was excellent. The food was delicious, our steaks were mouthwatering.     The Charity Bread is delicious. Furious Fries are a real winner. The filet was cooked to absolute perfection. And the lemon pie crème brûlée was absolutely outstanding!

    We made a reservation online and mentioned that it was for my husband's 40th birthday. When I say everyone wished him a happy birthday, I mean EVERYONE. The hostess who greeted us, the lady who showed us to our table, our incredible waitress, and the manager (who brought over a free app as a thank you for joining them for the first time!) They even gave him a birthday card signed by the staff at the end of our meal and comped his dessert. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful, but above all, the service was impeccable. It created an experience that you don't often get when dining out, and they made our celebration really, really special. We will definitely be going back again.

    My guests did not enjoy their drinks. Two of them had Cosmo martinis that were white and tasted like a lemon martini. We mentioned it to our server who checked and came back and said it was indeed a cosmo. Similar story with other drinks. Other than for this, the experience was fine.

    We visited Chop last evening for our wedding anniversary and were so impressed. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, our food was presented beautifully and was absolutely delicious and prompt. The staff surprised us with a thoughtful card and dessert for our anniversary! We will definitely be back, and can’t recommend our experience enough.

    Dined here for our 30th Anniversary in August2023. Meals were excellent!! My daughter and I had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the centre cut New York. So delicious! Would highly recommend. Service was stellar. Worth every cent! Possibly the best steak I have ever had!!

    It was a nice experience in the restaurant. The problem started was we were sitting outside and the white Lamborghini that was parked next to the eating area was revving the engine purposely to create a very loud and obnoxious noise while people were sitting there eating. The gas fumes were over the top which made it a very undesirable visit to your restaurant. It was very unprofessional for the staff to allow this to take place. I will not return to your establishment after this experience! Food was great, however the way this was handled by your staff makes me want to not return. Linda

    The food was excellent but the service was lacking. Once we got our plates, the server never came to see how is the food was to our satisfaction. Had to wait for plates to be picked up and to pay. The restaurant was very loud and it wasn’t even a full house.

    We went to Chop Steakhouse in Halifa for our 1 year wedding anniversary, we had MacKenzie for a server and she is a gem, I worked as a server for years in a 5 star establishment and I know it can be trying but Mack was wonderful, she is an asset to your restaurant. She is very knowledgeable with the menu and great with the suggestions, friendly and very kind. The food was beyond amazing! Cooked perfectly to our liking and the flavor was out of this world....We will come back and will specifically be asking for Mack for our server, truly was a pleasure to dine there and it was because of Mack.

    This was our first time on the patio it was a very nice relaxing quite area great for conversation Daniela was a great server and the food was amazing I had a special request and the kitchen did not disappoint Thank you chop for another great date night !

    Amazing dinner from start to finish. The Chop staff went out of their way to make our anniversary special. Our server was great; knowledgeable and attentive. Food was delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Definitely recommend :)
