   We have eaten at Chop in Mississauga before and were anxious to try Chop in Ottawa to see if the food and experience was as good, and it definitely was. Beautiful restaurant on Hunt Club, our food was amazing and the service was fantastic!!

Just let us know what you re looking for next time and we are happy to guide you in the right direction. As for the noise level, I am going to guess you were on the bar side? If so ,try the dining room side next time. It is quieter. That being said I do hope we see you again soon!

   Our meal was fine - in the past, CHOP had acknowledged when we're celebrating a special event, which I did include in my reservation, but no one acknowledged or recognized it when we arrived or during our meal. The service was slower than usual but not overly so. The server was friendly and attentive. The bread was delicious. Our entrees were on the colder side. We let our server know and he offered to have another plate made, but we declined because we honestly didn't need more food. The server offered dessert but we were not interested in anything. The experience was okay over all, but based on this specific experience, I don't know that I would recommend CHOP to a friend.

    All the staff we interacted with were super helpful and polite. The place was relatively clean, our cutlery had a long blonde hair wrapped around it.. Before choosing her we read the reviews and I do agree the steak was very salty. Luckily the same process the locks in the moisture allowed me to scrape the salt off making it less salty. The rest of my food was delicious and we informed our hostess but decided not to return tbe meal. She was very attentive and made us feel welcomed.

    Our night out was great ! We traveled to Ottawa to pick up our second Golden retriever and stayed at the sandman hotel! The staff we meet from start to finish were amazing and made us feel welcome. Food tasted just as great and we loved the appetizer they presented to as free of charge ! Thanks for making it great !!!!

    Experienced Chops again to celebrate my birthday. As usual it was great. Our waitress Talina, had served us before and she provided great service. Not too fast and not too slow, just right and the food arrived at the right time and it was hot and served very attractively to the eye and nose. Quality of the food was great, 2 of us had the prime rib, one had centre cut beef steak and my wife had the Miso Salmon and everyone enjoyed their choice. We've now been there at least 5 times and each time the experience and quality are the same. Definitely recommend

    My scallop dish turned out to be different than described on the menu and had to be returned. When it was replaced the scallops were over cooked. Our friends were also disappointed. The filet mignon was to be medium rare and it was too well done and too tough. The other friend asked for prime rib that was medium rare and part of an end cut. He did not get that and it had to be replaced: not an end cut and looked raw. My husband’s meal of smoked rib eye was the only meal they got right. The ambience and the bar area is fun and upbeat. The bartender was awesome. He made good suggestions and was clearly invested in his clients. Our waiter was also very attentive and on the ball. This was our first time at Chop and you know what they say about first impressions… Aside from the quality of the food we had fun. If we return it would be to come to the bar for drinks and appies only. There are too many other excellent steak restaurants in Ottawa.

    Food was mediocre for 225 dollars...have dined here at least 20 times.....the quality of the prime beef has gone down hill since it opened....their prime used to be the best in the city....now its 50 percent fat covered witn a sauce do you cant tell exactly how much fat there really is....that easily....French fries srrived near end of meal...cold.....main course arrived literally 2 minutes after the starter salads

    Had a great time the only issue was that the sun was in our face the whole time (on the bar/lounge side) and there are no blinds just a huge wall of windows so it was a little uncomfortable. Food was great and waiter was super nice.

    The greeting at the reception desk was less than welcoming as was the same person who took us to our table. She could up her game substantially. On the other hand, Lisa our waitress was amazing. So welcoming, charming and helpful. There was a table of people above us who were very loud and disturbing us. We mentioned it to Lisa and she arranged to move us to another table. She offered us a complimentary glass of Prosecco to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary and gave us a card and gift card when we left. Lisa made sure we had a wonderful experience at Chop.

    Sat on bar side this visit. Relaxed, chill vibe with friendly service - a good place to watch the game. I enjoyed the avocado power bowl, but found it just a little too heavy on the dressing. My gf loved her filet mignon, grilled to perfection. Our bottle of wine was decanted at the table which was a nice touch. Will be back soon

    Chop is a constant... good steak, good sides, good wine. But it was busy this Sunday night, so some attention to detail was off... very long wait for the extras we ordered ...bernaise sauce for the filet, and butter for the baked potato... they both arrived well after our entrees cooled down. Bernaise sauce arrived after 10 minutes, butter took about15... by then the food had cooled enough to notice. Also with dessert, the Hot water for tea arrived after a few minutes, but the tea bags took another 10 minutes to show up... In all three cases we had to ask the server if the forgotten items -the bernaise, butter, tea bags - were coming... perhaps forgotten in the buzz of a busy evening... These little shortfalls did not ruin our evening, but it took it from the usually "outstanding service" to "good service". Except for not being at their hottest, because they had cooled for 5-10 minutes before the meal was served in its entirety, the steaks were cooked to our taste. Everyone has an off night...Chop is still is one of our favorites. If it's busy, a little nudge now and then may be needed.

    As a group of 8 friends (in our 50s and 60s), this was our first visit to Chop. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the service, and would definitely go again.
